Leeds United are set to sell club captain Ross McCormack to Championship rivals Fulham for a fee in excess of £8million.
I like many would like to see Ross stay, however money talks, and an ammount that high, for a player we signed for under a million, for a player who has had 1 great season and is already 27 is just impossible to turn down. Another way to see it is that Mathieu Valbuena is available for £8million (if certain reports are to be believed), and I know which player I would rather splash that ammount on, also, if this was Bates' tenure we would have sold for £2mil at the end of January and never seen a penny of it invested.

Leeds United have already signalled their intent with rumours linking us with a £2mil+ move for the young Italian GK, that have been confirmed by Adam Pope on social Network, and with Salerno now stating he works for Leeds, expect young, good (potentially Italian) players coming in in the near future.

(Sorry about the poor grammer, doing this at work)

RyanMOT

1.) I like the look of Lukas Jutkiewicz who at 25 would be a good buy .
what you think?

2.) 02 Jul 2014 11:12:12
Only concern with jutkeiwicz is he seems to be a journeyman already at 25. Since he left Everton he's been all over in loan and doesn't seem what you would call prolific. Gets one in maybe 3 or 4! We have Matt smith who has that ratio. Personally I'd be disappointed if we went for him. Think we could do a lot better!

3.) 02 Jul 2014 11:16:20
As for McCormack, if he goes, he goes. Better players have come and gone and better players will come and go in the future, is it disappointing, yes. Understandable, definitely. If we'd got a top coach and a good signing he would see the ambition and stay, but we haven't shown any ambition and cm may have a plan to get us to the pl but it's going to be a long plan and ross doesn't really have time on his side. So Thankyou for all you did ross, good luck with Fulham and hopefully you get them promoted and were playing against you in pl next year. This is a big test of mc, if he reinvests the money from ross into the squad with 3/4 good players then we could well suprise a few people next year. Or will he pocket it just like bates did? Wait and see!

Massimo Cellino is back in England tomorrow after finalising the sale of Cagliari late last night. His next job is appointing a manager, most likely to be Eamonn Dolan. if a compensation fee with Reading can be agreed that is.

RyanMOT

1.) Wrong!
He's categorically said he wants a coach, do people NOT listen?

2.) Calm down.
I put manager instead of coah I am sorry. Genuine mistake.

3.) Andy we all know what Ryan meant.
Chill princess

4.) Reading have warned us off over Dolan so he should be out of the reckening McAllister or Houghton is the next best thing

5.) Mancini is free now, and Italian!

6.) Thats just it with Mancini he's Italian - Massimo has said he wants a British Coach - Paul Clement at Real Madrid gets my vote!

7.) Paul Clement would be fantastic

8.) Teeth
Huge difference my friend!!

9.) Paul clement is a top notch coach I believe he is the number one target for cellino, I also believe, dolan and hockaday would come as a pair, but the number one choice would be paul clement

10.) 12 Jun 2014 08:55:08
Who ever he chooses he needs to get a move on, we are very short on good players, or will the new coach not have a say in this, and players/agents already being spoken too by carbone or even MC himself? This this man likes to call a lot of the shots tbh. MOT

Tony Pulis confirms Jimmy Kebe is on his way to Leeds for talks about a loan until the end of thr season: Kebe was scouted & signed by McDermott at Reading, and it looks like the two will be re-joined in the coming days.
Still no real money spent, however this means more money is available to strengthen other areas of the squad.

RyanMOT

1.) No it means money is spent on their wages, not that no money is used uo. There may be a loan fee as well

Aiden White looking like the most likely player to depart Leeds United: £800,000 the rumoured fee, and personally I feel that we will do EXTREMELY well to get that much! Since bursting on the scene at 16 (5 years ago), Aidy has not improved much at all. He is a league 1 player at best; I don't like putting our players down however he is weak, a bad passer, and doesn't really offer much besides pace. He has not found his best position after being played in LB, LW, RW and most recently CAM, so cashing in to fund wages for a solid, proven winger seems just like common sence! Sorry Aiden!

RyanMOT

1.) Wow - do his confidence a load o good reading this eh? and maybe bollox up any sale too

2.) I'd bite anyone's arm off at that.

3.) I agree 100%. Aidy has struggled and can't seem to hold down a place and improve. He's far too weak on the ball.

4.) Remember the goal he scored against Everton last season that was a glimpse of what he could offer us he's not a bad player he just needs a chance under Brian because it seams he can get the best out of our players.

5.) I very much doubt Aidan White reads a Leeds Utd transfer rumours page, I would have a lot better things to do if I was on his salary.

6.) Remember everyone said the same about Gareth Bale. He nearly moved to Birmingham for 2 million. Now look at him. White is still young and still learning the game. Support the lad rather than put him down.

7.) Headless chicken. rabbit caught in the headlights. words that best sum up aidy white. CW

8.) Anything near £500k . snap their hand off.

JDC

9.) When -or rather- If Aiden White transfers to Real from a Premier League club for 110 million, after signing a lucrative advertising deal and being shortlisted for World Player of the Year, I'll happily agree that, yes, he is just like Gareth Bale. I think taking the risk of selling him now for a couple of hundred thousand might be but, hey, seems most of us are lunatics with no idea of his truly stellar potential.

10.) One word sums up White CRAP! I would take 80p to get the person off the wage bill No good, no chance and no hope get rid now.

Well as much as we all protested, Hockaday is now officially Leeds United's head coach! Time to stop moaning, all we can do now is get behind the man and his coahing team and support the mighty whites. It may work out; stranger things have happened. I think.

On a more positive note it looks like Salerno may be Leeds bound after rejecting Palemo's offer.

So it looks as though no matter what the result of the appeal, Leeds United will have new owners, and money to spend come July 1st. Leeds should also be seeing the back of several 'fringe' players in the summer, some out of contract (Pugh, Ashdown & Brown), and some already shipped out on loan (Peltier and Varney), these, along with others expected to depart (Hunt, Tonge et. ), leave a nice chunk of wages available for those incoming, (especially if Hunt's 25K wage is at all accurate).
Providing we can keep hold of key players, Byram, McCormack. and I'm sure there are a couple more, I think, and the correct players are added come August/September, 2015 may be a good year for the 'Mighty Whites'. But quite frankly, one consistent owner and less stress and I will be happy.

RyanMOT

1.) Think McCormack will be off in summer after the abuse

2.) 03 Apr 2014 12:36:14
Be lucky to get rid of hunt and tonge!

3.) Are u willing to pay hunts contract off because if not we can't just get rid of players still contracted without having to pay them off wake up will u

4.) Wake up? I didn't say we would be releasing Hunt, I said hopefully he will be departing (as in someone dumb enough to buy AND pay his wages).

McDermott confirmed post Boro that Leeds United are looking to offer Alex Mowatt an improved contract; a great move all around IMO. Mowatt & Byram are the future of Leeds, and you just have to wonder who will be next to graduate to the 1sr team?

With a fully fit Matt Mills missing the Bolton game again today you have to question is this deal all but lined up: Leeds United appear to be waiting to finalise the release of 1 player (Aiden White - Blackpool) in order for GFH to release the needed funds (roughly £700,000).
After this BM will turn his attention to a winger, with GFH willing to fund 1 more player, however Brian will once again have to wait for a player to leave, with Leeds willing to listen to offers for El Hadji Diouf.

RyanMOT

1.) Negotiating his wages should be a laugh then i'm sure whites wages will cover his 25k a week lol

15 Aug 2013 21:12:10
I for one would not accept just a cash deal for Ross McCormack; too many times have we seen teams forced to pay way over the odds for a player when that team knows the other team have come into some money from a sale (Liverpool the prime example when £35mil was spent for Carroll's signature). A deal involving Marvin Emnes may be one Brian would have to consider amid rumours of a fallout at Boro, as he can play both as a striker and in the much needed winger role. Being totally honest I don't know much about Marvin Emnes besides the fact the guy has an eye for goal and bags of pace, but them two traits alone are significant, and apparently lacking at Leeds as we speak.
Brian is apparently still working on a 1 in 1 out system, and has a player lined up to come in, but if our scrap can't be shipped then it's about as useful as (in Dodgeball's words). a c*ck flavoured lolly pop. Both a winger and a Centre Back are top of Brian's list.

RyanMOT

1.) Mccormack is one of our only creative players Emnes would offer nothing more than pace he's not exactly prolific and I for one would rather have mccormack whose service served us well last season (last season he was joint second in assists, more than zaha).

2.) I think emness is a lot better than ross

3.) U might like Ross better if u watch him play in real life. Emnes is better on FIFA but obviously not in real life. But on FIFA he is quicker an stronger!

I would love GMS to join, fantastic player with a lot of potential, and at that price he really is a bargain! However 'strict budget'? We have spent £1million on a player for the first time in 8 years, Wootton has been reported to cost around the same (but I question this) and all GFH have asked for is for Brian to lower our wage which stood at £15m BEFORE Wootton! Seems fair to me.

Hence the reason the word versatile is in quotation marks! He has played in so many positions but hasn't excelled at one!

I've heard it's meant to be worn for the 1st time at the FC Nurnburg friendly. whether it will be released before that or not I dunno!

2nd poster: Watch on Leeds' official YouTube the 'wear what the players are wearing' video, he talks about the new away kit's release! 100% a new kit, plus without sounding like the usual liers on here, I do know someone who is Friends with a Leeds player. apparently the shoot has already been done.

Luke Varney has the chance to thrive this season without the 'hoofball' tactic! His goal at Tottenham was evidence enough he can play well. And I agree about Austin's shooting, he needs to cut that out of his game a little!

I would take all three 'Ins', however I think Gorkss & Forrester would maybe cost a little more, likewise why sell Pearce for £350,000, when we only bought him last season for £500,000; young for a centre back as well at 25 and has potential to get better. Bournemouth would at least have to match the money we payed for him.
Pugh & Norris are probably two McDermott is definately looking to ship off, however I would add Drury to the list, but not sure who would want him.

It's set to be launched at the FC Nurnburg game! A few people speculating it will be gold, I hope not though.
