Redders in his post match interview:

"I thought Casper Sloth was really good today, he played in that position against Huddersfield and did well, for whatever reason he's been out of the picture but he's took his chance today."

Whatever reason? Unbelievable! Methinks there must be all sorts going on behind closed doors

Same here, he featured in all the games Redders took charge of earlier in the season which equated to 10 of the points we currently have on the board.

It maybe due to the required involvement of Bianchi and Adryan as Mowatt and Cook are the other 2 in the diamond.

Unbelievable is right, school yard stuff, players in form should play and give young ones a rest and I would play Taylor for Warnock with Berardi on bench. A few players been performing well but hardly get off bench, we have a big squad needs to use it

Taylor??, did you go yesterday??, he was worse than poor, faded toa standstill (Unfit?), and his crossing was appalling

It astounds me that it has taken Redfearn 15 games to work out that the diamond formation may not be all that it's cracked up to be. Players like Sloth and Austin will prosper in a midfield 5 as it affords them more freedom with mistakes being mopped up by their team mates. As for reasons why Sloth had not been selected were all because of Redfearn and his blinkered view that only Mowatt, Cook and Bianchi are good enough for his midfield. Hopefully now he has had his light bulb moment he will show flexibility in his formation and the players within it.

It's beginning to make me think that Benedicic might now be fully fit again, but Redders has him locked in the cellar 'for whatever reason' lol

Everyone is picking up on this Redfearn comment - rightly. Proves he is not de facto in charge. Cellino is. Bad for team. Hasn't Redfearn experimented in training with Sloth out wide? He must have done. We don't have wingers. Diamonds are for top notch teams even then as a counter tactic. 442 way to go so is using the squad more. If we get couple new players in to add quality and continue to play 442 we will beat the drop.

Maybe he meant to say " for various reasons" not what he actually said, which like you all say made him sound a bit of a duck.

Either way even though none of us are coaches we all knew that the diamond shape was flawed and he should have at least worked on 2-3 others in training.

Any team should be able to play 442, then if away maybe 4231, or 433 at home, but really I would play the players who are in form and in their right/normal positions, any player who plays poor in 3-4 games (Bianchi, Doukarra for sure and last few games Mowatt/cook not done much, I know Redders likes them but we have no players who are un-dropable in my opinion).

For me any of the team that has us 5th from bottom could not really complain to much if they were "rested"

After Sunderland game, I would bring Bryam back but as Warnock injured that it. Midfield really needs looking at for me, will be an interesting call and I would play Montenegro if we play either 1 or 2 up front.

spw
do you judge all players on one game. Suggest you go watch some U21 games and see how they perform. pressure may have got to him a bit but he his usually sound.
