Have to say it was an absolute pleasure watching the development squad today. Wonderful classy performance, could really have been 10-0! Hats off to Baker and Harrison and Bamford, whilst he was on. You can see why we got all three, so professional, gave everything and encouraged the youngsters. No one had a bad game today. Clarke stands out but all the defence was solid and showed, we have a number of players who could be called on. Anyone who really things our squad is thin, watch an under 23 game, it's definately not as grim as you might think!
Other point, I wanted to add, because I've seen 4 games in 10 days in this spell. The quality of our coaching stands out! The opposition coaches I have seen, usually 1/ 2 very traditional and quiet for a lot of the game. We have a team of 4/ 5 all involved in helping different players and Carlos as the link between these boys and the first team. It is a really classy act.
Great day, seriously anyone has a chance to get to a game, really worth the effort. Jack Clarke, with careful development and more gym and fitness is going to be a real star!

I’m sure you’ll find something Bermondsey! Actually, if I was a player, I might get a bit ffd off with the coaching, you never have a moments rest, so one is yelling at you! But I think what they do is concentrate on the players who need a bit more direction.
Harrison and Baker really impressed me today, they wouldn’t have tried harder if it was a cup final! They are giving everything to the cause and it was an under 23 game!

I agree with bermo its great to see the under 23s development and what i like also is the fact that carlos is setting them up tactically to play exactly like the first team which means any one who steps up to the 1st team fits in effortlessly with smooth transition again clever communication between Carlos and Marcelo, Jack Clarke will get a chance this season I've no doubt about that, his ability and performances will make it impossible to ignore, Good times!

Morison going to put on his "Zlatan" shirt for next Saturday. Two points leap to mind. 1. Why didn't he do that while playing for us? 2. Good job we have a Pontus and a Swiss Army Knife to keep him in check or is that Swede? Either way all Millwall players and their fans especially are rebel layers of undesirable extraneous fluid which incoveniently form on the top side of other liquids.

i have always rated morrision, proved he is good before and after leeds. Think we didn't use him correctly and he got the brunt for being part of a poor leeds team. Harris is a good manager who knows how to get the most out of his players. That said this year is a season to far for orrsion he has been off pace and suffering this year, elliot is looking better but wall are missing saville and couple of big injuries so we should finally finally beat them at the den, which i threw up in on the opening day years back. very proiud i was the first person to chuck up in the den! want that on my gravstone.

I see millwall have nearly sold out for there cup final next Saturday. Looking at the game, based on watching there tactics last weekend. Long up to Morison who wins the header and they have people join on from there. Pontus has to play. Win the first header and nullify there main tactic. Morison will batter Berardi or cooper in the air.

3-0 half time to the under 23s! Bamford, Nicell, I think and Clarke. Fair play to Bamford, Baker and Harrison, really taking the game very seriously. Bamford scored and then went off with a knock, hopefully not too bad. Have to say good seeing Harrison and Clarke on the wings, shows just how good Clarke is and Harrison is having a good game, Clarke Created one and scored a cracker. Team playing like the first team and have created tons of chances. On the first half this team wouldn't disgrace the championship. Very very encouraging.

Totally agree Spanish. Three very well created goals, all nicely finished. Clarke must be pushing for the first team squad soon, and I was also impressed with Diaz and his composure on the ball. Great first half!

So the U23 squad is set to be trimmed down, due "millions" in wages being tied up there. The likes of machucha, Rey, Balboa and Sarkic likely to be sold. Does this point toward a total change of transfer policy? Would seem daft IMO, as once you've started with the strategy of investing in youth, what's the point in not waiting to see it through to fruition? Money wasted unless we get some good fees for them!?

May not be money wasted. If we have brought in lots of U23 relatively cheaply (compared with new 1st team signings) and a small percentage make the grade then we haven't lost any money.
Maybe the new coaching team have had enough time to decide who will and who won't be good enough.
It didn't take them long to decide which first teamers needed to go.
Also with a reduced U23 squad size the remaining players get more game time helping them develop quicker and prepare for being 1st team members.

Funny how many articles still going on about how thin our squad is! Just don't see it now. If you take the goalie out of the equation, then I see, Pontus, Harrison, baker, Bamford, Forshaw, Dallas, Pearce, Shaunessy, Shackleton, Roberts all fighting for bench space! That's not including Izzie or any of the 3/ 4 under 23s who could get to the bench at least. If we keep in bringing more in, who misses out? If we really want to give the kids a chance, there has to be some space for them. I think Bielsas structure is the right idea. Use January if we have specific injuries and players who haven't made the grade.
