Standing just 20 yards or so a number of things struck me. That the present team will always struggle against teams like Southampton and do much better against teams like Norwich and Ipswich who go toe to toe with us. Southampton got players behind the ball and waited to counter if/ when we lost possession. We never got behind them once. We looked to have no idea about how to break them down. Coupled with that we were shot shy and at times looked to have no sense of urgency. A low key effort on our part yet again. Having said that there were only two meaningful shots. They scored from one and we hit the underside of the cross bar with the other. No one stood out for me on our side but Piroe did very little, Gray was a shadow of himself and our wing. en were largely ineffective agsixtthe deep lying defence. Such is football such is leeds.

Their amount of yellow cards explained a lot about their tactics, which was to contain us by whatever means.
We should have in my estimation played wider, using the speed of James to break their back line.
That’s all Barry Hindsight of course now, credit to Martin he got it right.
It was a very fine margin, but that’s football.
I’m totally gutted that we came up just short in the end, that period after the international break was our real downfall, you scratch your head and try to understand how and why we dipped at this most crucial moment?
It’s a bit like how we inexplicably lost to Derby last time in the playoffs.
Still think Farke will get it right next season, there will be some changes i'm sure, it will be for the better.

How is it hindsight when we played similar games against them during the season with identical outcomes, performances and issues? This is no better demonstrable by Armstrong scoring a carbon copy goal. We don't have a 10 to switch play at pace and break lines. We were poor after international break due to lethargy and lack of rotation. This is why we're playing Championship football next season only this time it'll be without Summerville Gnonto and Firpo and possibly also Rutter. I can see 15 new players walking through the door in the summer because we need a defence and squad players to replace Dallas, Ayling, Cooper and Bamford. We need to raid the Championship for it's best players and get the best possible players on loan from the EPL. Quite the recruitment challenge but I have faith in Miles and Hammond to succeed. Farke needs to coach playing more expansively.

15 players! Are you sure?
You might find players like Jimmy, Gnonto and Rutter are not the value that some are making out and are not courted by top clubs in the Premiership, certainly those three are not ready for the big clubs and might never be?
The best they might get fir a movie at this moment in time could be a club like Forest if they want to go to the Premier, they might be better off going to foreign clubs if looking for some success.

So assuming 2 of 4 golden boy players stay, I count that as 17 departures.
Do you have a masterly plan as to how to replace 17 players with less than 15? Kindly elucidate.
