I meant that we trained a player we wanted to sign but because of a lack of a to buy clause we took a £3m player they didn't want and gave them back a £30m+ player they refused to sell us, not White coming to the club, that part wasn't the mistake.
Also George who says we wouldn't have signed someone else and come up anyway?

Gumbo None of your post justifies the tag "mistake". Ever occur to you that insistence of a buy clause would've been a dealbreaker meaning no loan at all. As for getting someone else in, we probably would've done but far from certain we'd have come up with whoever that player might have been. On any understanding, his loan was no mistake.
