Really don't get this transfer and for this value. I know I haven't seen him play for a while, but when I saw him in the premier league, he had Antonio in his pocket. I think he also did well when on loan at Millwall. Appreciate we have a few options in front of him, but would like to see us keep him and hopefully give some game time this session.

Leeds are great at selling young talent that more often than not turn into quality players.
I hope they know what they're doing because £4 million now is nowt compared to shelling out £40 million for a like-for-like replacement.

Agree Aus. More diagonals and direct progression from the back rather than consistently laboured lateral or U shaped playing patterns. And if the latter then quicker tempo and miss a man out every now and again. We don't need everyone to have a touch before we decide to progress up the pitch.

No one is arguing for Ampadu to start CB this season.
As things stand, that's the system Farke plays when teams sit back in a low block, Baz. Whether we like it or not (which I'd assume most of us don't) isn't of relevance to him. So naturally, he's going to pick players that lean into that style rather than a big knuckler who doesn't. We are certainly better in transitional play when the game allows, but again, Cresswell isn't better than any starter at passing vertically or breaking the lines. So again, why would he start him over Rodon or Struijk?
Don't really get the issue with him playing better players over inferior ones.

Which players? Seems there should be quite a lot to name if they more often than not turn into quality players.
I mean, aside from Clarke and Davis, in recent seasons we've sold young players such as:
Hjelde
Bogusz
Peacock-Farrell
Halme
Pearce
Vieira
Mowatt
And Lewis Cook, who is a good player but is perenially injured (missed 161 games injured since he mo ed to Bournemouth.
That's every player 23 or under that we've sold in the last 10 seasons.
Pretty much just making stuff up now given only 2 have progressed as expected since we sold them. 20%.

The last 11 games playing Cresswell at CB and Amps in our increasingly overrun midfield would have got us the EPL golden ticket.

Last season. LAST SEASON - I said Ampadu would be more than comfortable at CB. He was. LAST SEASON he was needed there. He played well there for Spezia and played well. It was out of necessity.
This season he doesn't NEED to play there as Struijk is back.

We had Charlie Cresswell to play at CD instead.
instead Leeds shipped in a barrel load of goals when it mattered most. Amps in CD not at CM clearly didn't work!

At no point ever did I even suggest Amps stay at CB!
Farke used players as they were needed, due to injury, and lack of squad depth.
Boring repetitive drum banging of an unfounded and incorrect, inaccurate nature, again. Cresswell 100% would not have changed a damn single, tiny little thing, apart from maybe our ability to finish 3rd!

Well you clearly conflated about me saying THIS season, since you then you wrote about LAST season ?
Was a necessity as you want your best players on the pitch and players who've had regular game time. Cresswell is an inferior player, plus he's played 135 league mins all season. You don't throw someone in at the most important time of the season when they've barely kicked a ball in a competitive game for a year.
