Well it looks like desperate Burnley are looking to the future by signing aging journeyman Shelvey to the end of the season.
I really hope nobody says anything really daft like, we should of signed him.

Nobody saw that one coming that’s for sure OP.
Not a betting man normally but probably poor odds for his first sending off.

OP Quite the reverse. There appears to be growing transfer noise about us reportedly acquiring Oxford United midfielder Tyler Goodrham. That's definitely more like it imo.

' desperate' Burnley OP?
So OP most of last season you were very unwisely as it turned out dismissing and knocking ( Gonner) Ipswich and Leicester.
Now you are doing so again this time with Burnley and Sheff Utd.
Hmmm.

As for Shelvey. a solid very capable player esp at Champo level
And he has always played very well against Leeds United often scoring
A 6 month loan spell a no risk win win for Burnley imo OP.
{Ed001's Note - awful, lazy, poor attitude and his legs have gone. I am shocked anyone would want Voldemort.}

I don’t dismiss any team in the Championship but plucky, lucky Ipswich did achieve promotion only because our youthful inexperienced squad didn’t have the mental strength to take us over the line. That won’t be our problem this season.
Burnley however for me don’t posses the fire power to get them automatic promotion and if they think Jobjo Shelvey as a midfielder, who does have a decent right peg is their answer to create and score goals, then in my opinion they won’t make it and they are desperate.
His disciplinary record is more likely to be a hindrance to their challenge than anything else.
For me the two teams that will be holding onto our tailcoats will be the Blunts and possibly Sunderland.
Enough of your little stories Baz.

Fair dos Ed001 I was remembering Shelvey when Leeds played against him which was 3 or more seasons ago
and looking up his recent stats past for 3 seasons they aren't pretty much like his slightly unfortunate appearance that you allude to lol.
{Ed001's Note - he was an absolute joke at Forest. He was terrible at Liverpool as well as his attitude stinks.}

OP on the flip side to your assertions; it would be foolish of you to dismiss Burnley to finish top 2 seeing as they do NOT concede goals
just 9 goals conceded in 27 matches is remarkable
it means they will pick up 3 points most of time by scoring just 1 goal
it helps too that they have a super goalkeeper unlike Leeds.

yep he hardly got a game at Forest Ed001 but it Leeds matches with Newcastle that I was basing my opinion and Shelvey played well in them.

Well that’s that then Baz, he had a few outstanding games against us but since then he’s been rubbish?
I’m glad that’s all cleared up now.

Baz Bingo!
Insult OP
Insult Meslier
Goner Ipswich
If only there was some DJ praise and Orta criticism to finish the set.

Tbf to Burnley it’s probably the best they could do in these tough January transfer windows, considering what is available and not jeopardizing PSR.
In my opinion the only good about the transfer window in January is for teams that have been ravaged by too many injuries and are desperate to take on anybody.
Still think in those circumstances it’s probably better to make the most of your youth players.

Brockers . a full set from moi would also have to at least include praise for the great Revie Wilko DOL and Bielsa coaches and player legends
Much as I like Dan James he is wayyy behind these men in my admiration.

OP
BUT last season both Ipswich and Southampton bought in significant midfield, winger and forwards players in Jan window . both went up as a result at the expense of LUFC
pretty sure Sheff Utd, Villa Norwich and Derby did too in Jan 2019 when Leeds missed out on promotion after being top on new years day.

If you wanted to make an argument you could say Kiefer Moore made some contribution to their promotion. But Ipswich didn’t win promotion, we gave it to them as for reasons I’ve already explained.
Us bringing in an aging journeyman striker and a top quality premiership ready keeper that we can’t afford, would probably make more problems for us than good.
We’re on the right track for glory, why fix what isn’t broken. ?

I don’t believe our recruitment team are sitting back and not doing anything! When you’ve got what’s arguably the best squad in the division adding to it in the right way isn’t as easy as posting on here! On Saturday all three goals scored by new recruits in the summer who are all looking like very good decisions! For me, assuming no one else goes, a flexible quality defensive option and an alternative 10 would be a good window. Torn a bit on Matteo, I like so much of what he does and with a run, he could really deliver. I’d be tempted to show faith in him knowing his hard work will help create goals for others if he still struggles with scoring.

George - Oxford are my local team, seen them a few times this year and Goodrahm is definitely not good enough to start for us, he lacks pace and goes missing for the most part. Even my Oxford fan mates don’t particularly rate him.
