Think kp will be found out and play from the bench.
I'm a massive critic and don't believe he's got what it takes to reach a higher level.
Thing is though, he's raised his game a certain level, fitness being the key factor, ofcourse mb has found a roll that has given him control in his game. because last season he didn't have a clue and he was hiding in most . games. Alioski is due to be replaced. he's just not improving and has not gone round a man since he came. we have players itching to get his spot. alioski from the bench could work.
Last comment is just my view.
Although we could use him right now, Roofe is another player who has benefitted from fitness and mb's methods. He will also struggle to reach that higher level. he's definitely not a 9.he's producing from high fitness and he's out already due to it. roberts is different class and only 19.bamford, miles better also.
Hope these players prove me wrong, would be happy with that. seen enough now to stick with my view though.
Cheers lads.

I agree and think the thought of Alisko coming off the bench would terrfy most and not starting might up his game further. Phillips can be a match winner, not sure what game it was last season but he come on and turned the game around and won it for us.

roofe i love but was 'iffy about' however this season he has proved he can be class, still think he is more rod wallace than number nine and would love to see him, bamford, saiz and roberts as attacking four, with alosiki and pablo in the mix as well,

think a front two would favour roofe bamford and roberts but don't think it is Mb's style or favoured formation

I agree about roberts think the lad will be a different class and alredy showing great promise.

Totally agree Gilsey about KP. Bielsa has simplified his role in the team and therefore his performances have improved as a result. In previous seasons he has struggled in the central midfield role as he is not intelligent enough to work out when to defend and when to attack and as a result got caught out of position. This season his role is clear, win the ball and give it, then return to your position. Going forward I expect Forshaw to take his place and that is fine with me as Forshaw is a better footballer. As for Alioski, he has the ability to beat players but lacks the confidence or inclination to do so. On the return of Pablo I would expect Alioski to make way with Pablo and Harrison occupying the wings.

Not sure how you can be saying Roberts is different class, he had a good 15 mins v Preston, he’s to do a lot more to convince me, he doesn’t play as a 9,he drops deep most of the time and spends a lot of time out wide. we put a lot of balls in the box and he’s not in there. he has potential that’s for sure, but premature to be calling him different class Gilesy. agree totally re Alioski though.

Jesus

What's with the Kalvin Phillips assassination squad?

Of course Phillips isn't Premiership standard. Wolves didn't think Douglas is. Don't think Beradi or Cooper are either. Saiz may be too lightweight for the Premiership too

But the fact is he IS the defensive midfield choice in the team at the top of the Championship. From what I have seen he is doing his job well. the number of goals conceded shows that

Aloiski seems to be getting it in the neck too. Doubt he is going to set the Premiership alight either, but as it stands he is the chosen left sided midfielder for the top Championship side. He scores and he assists
Maybe we should have kept that Swansea lad. Giles? . May be you guys don't believe this side has progressed.

awal i agree when i say roberts is a different class i mean he looks like he has potential to be, his movement touch and pace looks very good. I don't think he is a line leader or number nine yet played there and done well, think on wing as inside forward or with two up front he could show real class

axe, I don't think anyone would say the sqaud has not progessed, not only has MB got every single player (maybe apart from alying but i loved him anyway) playing better others have come in to improve sqaud as well, that doesn't mean we are perfect (for championship level) and that some wouldn't want to see improvements. that's the point of football, part of being a fan and sites like this. we cheers on what we love and moan about what we don't like (some like myself more than others)

Well said axe . Great post, points well made . Our better players over the years, Cook, Taylor, Viera, Woods etc were considered too good for Leeds and sold, now we have a team top of the league, players are been slaughtered . Fact is if something don’t need fixing, enjoy it . It’s like the missus is is a looker, cracking cook, loves footie and a nymph in bed! But I know down the line she’ll look like her mother, , lose all her appeal, so I’ll slaughter her now! I’m speaking hyperfetically, mine thought I’d gone off long ago and left!

great analogy Rag and leeds for me is just like the wife, no where near as good as she use to be and I know there are far better out there but I love her anyway.

As for the table, I think a few are gettng carried away a litte, yes it is good, yes enjoy it, but was we not here last year and fell away to an awful season?

I am not suggesting it will happen again but cracks are there and think we have a right to worry or at least be cautious. Last two saturdays we have lost to a poor brum team and drew with an awful millwall team (and lucky to draw at that in that they hit post at the end with was lucky for us) so things while good are far from perfect and I can see why some of us are nevous

personally i don't care what league leeds are in I just want to see us be the best we can be and what frustates me is while things can be great and we can be amazing we can also be very flat and poor which of course i am not a big fan of.

Steve Bruce not going to walk away from the Villa job, looking at the size of him I think it would be the healthy option for him to do some walking ;)

24 Sep 2018 14:07:41
i do worry for him, heard they just ordered a fitbit and extra large spandex tracksuit, so maybe he will be doing some walking, if I was a villa fan i think i would want him out, they have under performed, shame as i don't mind bruce (manly because i liked his son i think)

ok i'm not normally one to snitch or throw people under the bus however. to try and detract from the fact I think i have royally p@@sed some people off and to take the heat off me can i just point out. al stfford white said he thought batty was OVER rated. can we let the lynching begin. I have a mate in MI 5 who has eyes on him give the word and the trigger can be pulled

(sorry Al but thought this might move away from my KP rants. If you could also incsult Billy Bremner that would be great! )

Believable3 Unbelievable0

24 Sep 2018 12:29:16
Not a problem BW, having watched the mighty whites for quite a bit longer than 40 years, it is my opinion that Batty was overrated. He has said himself that he didn't like football he was just good at it. He was good but never in the same league as Brenner, Dacourt etc.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 13:17:20
Batty, Bremner, two of my all time favourites

Again see my previous comments about players prepared to do the work in the trenches to allow the likes of Gary Mac and Giles to play (although to be fair JG did a fair bit of the hard yards himself )

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Macca could dig a bit too mate, he got stuck in a fair bit in his short spell with Liverpool.}

24 Sep 2018 13:44:24
Ed001 You're quite right Mac could get stuck in but he truly came unstuck when Viduka's quaddy went in. Like Macca, I came unstuck a couple hours later when my absence at an important event (not the game) didn't go unnoticed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ah but he scored from 45 yards to win the derby for Liverpool so no LFC fans really remembers anything else about his time with us. I don't even remember him playing in the game Viduka did that in. The only thing I really remember was wondering how on earth Elleray didn't send off Bowyer (but that is something you were probably used to wondering about Bowyer!) and then just knowing that I had to go into work and face the smuggest bloke on earth that night who happened to be a Leeds fan. He was a nice guy like but he was a bloody nightmare when Leeds won!}

24 Sep 2018 14:10:26
cheers al,

in all honestly i loved batty but can agree with that, he did a job and did it really well but wasn't a great footballer and certainly not when compared to others like Billy, dacourt or kante who tackle and can play.

gary mac and speed maybe the best all round footballers during my time along with bowyer who i loved, although i make ed right he was often quite naguhty and maybe played more minutes than he should of.

24 Sep 2018 14:41:18
mind you al you have to admit Batty was a goal threat.

don't exxagterate and make it worse than it was. i am certain he scored twice! (his first goal for leeds was a blinder if i remember correctly run down the line and tucked it in the corner)

24 Sep 2018 19:30:32
Ok his whole career he scored 4 I think, 2 for Leeds and 2 for Blackburn I think.

Still top and without Adam Forshaw who you’d have thought was our best midfielder pre season.

Add to that the loss of Hernandez and Roofe and yeah we are a bit stretched

It’s a marathon not a sprint.

My only worry is MB’s teams are known for hitting the wall around February

Teams that grow into the championship and finish strongest tend to do best

Still think we’ve exceeded expectation so far but there are some big challenges ahead

Keep the faith.

Haven't been on here since the defeat because I thought there'd be some unjustified negativity from some . I see KP is getting stick again from some . Good players, is prone to some off games, especially when he plays 3 games a week . As the season progresses we will probably have to start rotating players more to cope .

Mighty Some? Name names. Would it be from a Wall fan dan sarf who claims John Lukic was better than Nigel Martyn?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 10:39:46
I thought we would see more rotation of players with the tempo we play at, or at least earlier subs when we are in front. Time will tell but think we might have some tired players come christmas. Will be interesting to see how Bielsa will cope with teams who come to shut us down, sure he is watching reruns to find a solution. Can plan A be plan B, not sure.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 11:30:48
yeah George because i need to be named otherwise people might of missed it. and I don't claim John lukic was better than big nigel I know Lukic was better than nigle, banks, buffon put together

honestly i think nigle and robinson were both better but love Lukic more than any other leeds player. even KP. ALso lukic only keeper to of won two titles with two different teams so must of had something going for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - has something happened that you were involved in Berm? I find it difficult to believe that someone as shy and retiring as you could have been in any way shape or form involved.}

24 Sep 2018 11:46:34
i know right ed. not even sure what i said to be honest, think it was something to do with Beradi or maybe Massimo cellino.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't think it would be you as he does seem the type of player a Wall fan would love.....}

Thought I'd give myself 2-3 days to calm down after that embarrassing stupid can't believe it ridiculous I'm very unhappy defeat.
Didn't see the game thank god.
Thought I'd come on here and read everybody posts on their opinion of the game and players performance.
To my horror andim not sure if anybody else has noticed. A poster formerly known as Bermondsey White has taken over the world and all its media pages and made online posting an irritating hobby.
Jeeez. Talk about a dog with a bone week in week out.
If you can't come up with anything new mate. Give it a rest. The Bielsa has subbed him twice when his had a bad game but perceivies with him! Not happy with the defeat but give Kp a chance.

Tbh Aus, I think Alioski has been worse than him all season, yes he scored in Saturday, but how he was still on the pitch after 85 mins to do so baffles me, his decision making at times is that if a Sunday league player. brum got the 2 early goals, then as Preston did when they beat us, they time wasted every second they could, we never looked like scoring to me and the goal came out of the blue, Roberts got 2 v Preston but he’s not an out and out 9,and at 19 it’s asking a lot for him to spearhead a championship attack, too often he’s dropping deep or out wide, then when we put balls in the box he’s not where we want him. if someone had said we would be top after 9 games though, we would all have took tgat.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 09:50:38
in my defence Aus, I have been slated strongly and quite personally at times for my dislike of KP so when he gets widley slated in media and subbed first half twice in 8 games I think a post is fair enough. however. maybe. just maybe. I have gone over the top and on a bit too much. maybe . slightly . a touch.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 11:05:18
ALAW I agree with your post, Alioski hasn't been excellent, saying that 3 goals and 2 assist from 8 games is good in this team. He's been fortunate with injuries though because I think if roofe was fit Roberts would have replaced alioski on the left by now, similarly, I think Harrison is streets ahead of alioski therefore when Hernandez is back alioski will drop down the pecking order.

its a hard call, as many have said we have to back the manager as he keeps picking the same players and knows better than us?

personally i would like to see a bit more rotation and do think MB underestimated english football and the championship.

nothing against MB as he is great but other greats like Pep and klop took time to get to grips with the demands of English football. I now see pep loves to rotate which maybe something he has learnt you need to do with this high press manic style of football (not sure maybe pep has always been a rotator? )

most frustrating thing is how up and down we are, against preston we looked great but millwall was very poor performance and flat. that said most teams in the league are up and down just the ones who are up most get promoted.
