I didn't see this one coming, but it is reported all over the place. If true, AG may have a better chance of regular PL football there than with one of the big boys. A big sell on close is a must. An explanation from the board may be needed to calm the fanbase if it materialises.

Gray far from a finished product, with one solitary season of EFL football under his belt. Let's try understand Brentford are mostly paying for his potential here. They've done it with Alex Scott last season and Keane Lewis-Potter before that. The players weren't worth what they paid for them in their current state, but they were players they wanted to develop, as will be the case with Archie. Plus it's an inflated price because of the English players quota. Do some of you seriously think we should be getting more?
£35m plus add-ons, as reported, is huge money considering where he is at currently.

Keane Lewis-Potter- Brentford £16m
Both had a lot more first team experience unde their belt than Archie currently has.
£35m is a monster deal comparatively.

I’ll be sad if that’s true but it will mean that it’s unlikely Summerville will be leaving.
It’s a crazy price for an 18 year old prospect but one I guess the owners can’t refuse.

Not a surprising outcome if true, if the PSR situation has to be resolved before end of the month.
The board probably thought Cree would have been sold by now, but this issue is solely down to Radz massive credit card overspending and the board have to do what is best for Leeds United first and foremost.
Sure young Archie will be gutted to leave but £35million plus add ons is a very good fee based on the reasons Dill has already covered.
More to follow sadly, but it’s where we are as a club just now.

That's my line of thinking too OP. Seems there's more probability than before in Cry staying now as the NEED to sell has gone. If he is truly happy at Leeds, as he says, then one more stellar season in the EFL and wins promotion, he's back in the EPL in time for the world cup year. International football seems like a goal of his and he can still get there with Leeds if things go to plan.
Will see hiw things play out, but I am more optimistic about him potentially staying now.

Agree with dill and let's hope this potential sale starts the ball rolling and we start getting some cash we can then spend on strengthening the team.
