Our new centre half looked pretty good yesterday. Funny he has the same name as our own Liam Cooper who we all agreed wasn't good enough. Anyways. seeing as nobody is going to come in for him, he hangs around in the back line and can at least make a tackle, what about trying Bridcutt at centre-half for the next game?

He played well, but one decent game does not make him barasi! let's not get to excited and see how he's done after a few games

Cooper can follow one good game with two awful games

When Cooper punted the ball forward under no pressure to nowhere in the first 10 minutes I was rolling my eyes expecting the usual but fair do's, the lad did well enough. Maybe one of those that needs a captain's armband to make 'em play the way they're supposed to.

I think Cooper had good games against Oxford and Bolton. He looks up for this season, proud to wear the shirt, he leads and he gets respect from the other players. At the very least yesterday's game showed the importance of having sufficient defensive cover and even if he doesn't keep his starting place he can be useful this year. Let's give him a chance under the new regime. Likewise with Sacko, I'm sure he knows where he needs to improve and the coaching staff as well, but if he can really come good he will be a really dangerous player. I think it's going to be an exciting season, not too many boring games!

Well he's certainly shed a few pounds since last time I saw him play. Let's hope leaner means meaner

Maybe TC can unearth a good defender in him? I would have thought Monk could have being an ex CB. Needs to cut out the Hollywood balls too, as they regularly go out of play or lose us possession.

I've never had a problem with Coops, and it seems that the squad has no probs with him either, it's them that voted him captain!

I think I heard them say on commentary yesterday that it was a player vote to make him captain. If the team think that highly of him I would like to think there is something there. let's just hope beradi and pennington are back quickly and cammy bj fits in, as I think yesterday showed we could do with the depth.

I agree. The games i saw last year he played ok. don't know why people slate him. Everybody has a bad game here and there. Brid was way worse than cooper. Glad to hear he stepped up yesterday. Hope it continues.

Really pleased for Coops, seems to be a true pro. Never moaned about not being played etc. Players are all about confidence and if that's been shot to pieces, some never recover. I hope Coops gets a good run now and keeps on putting a good shift in. MM
