Is this not the logical thing to do.
It's safe to say I think we are not getting in play offs and we probably aren't going down.
So instead on signing mercenaries on emergency loans. basically getting other clubs players fit
This is the perfect opportunity for captAin slim to evaluAte what he has actually got in a competitive match, rather than u21 football or training sessions.

Play sloth, Erwin, Coyle, Mulhern, Mcdaid
Etc. why not. See what they've got before replacing them with foreign garbage in the summer. they might surprise us.

Sounds like a great idea, however were on a poor run and I guess SE must be thinking it could be his last game, perhaps not the best time to take a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 22:37:37
Ok, maybe when we are mathematically safe. Say with 10 games to go then hopefully.

09 Feb 2016 23:23:43
makes sense for Fat boy slim to advise MC on the fact that he wants to blood the youngsters explaining that it will save him money at the end of the day and also maybe unearth a gem or two like McDaid, which means in turn could result in getting rid of a few dead wood come summer.

Only leeds could let Casper Schmeicel leave on a free.

we didint we got 1.25 mill for him, don't gget me wrong we should of kept him or got a lot more but that was life under ken bates.

09 Feb 2016 21:32:55
Just how much did we get for Tom Lees. Cellino did well with Kiss my badge but has bought loads of rubbish.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 21:42:47
What's the betting no sell on clause either.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 23:27:13
There is a sell on clause but it goes straight into bates account no doubt. Along with snoody's Howsen and Johnsons fees. How much would bates have made this season with Cook etc etc.

I really don't see the point of getting anybody in during the emergency loan period. EXCEPT if there is a guarantee that we can buy him in Summer at an agreed price. Evans would have to be pretty certain that he was one for the future otherwise all we would be doing is paying wages for someone just to get game time. Take Lafferty for example, no great record as a goal scorer but needs to put himself in the frame for the Euros. On the one hand he will be trying to impress (good for us) on the other he won't want to get injured (not so good) . How he would respond to that problem is anyone's guess. Personally waiting for Summer is the best bet unless of course we go into a nose dive and start flirting with relegation. Another bonus would be that Cellino's appeal should have been sorted by then. Either way it goes there will be more clarity.

09 Feb 2016 14:48:48
lot of logic here, if they might be able to sign full time then makes good sense to try before you buy (altough it didn't work for bamba) otherwise i'd rather see youth get a chance or the players who are not good enough such as sloth and erwin if nothing else it might inpire a buyer for them in the summer and drive up price a little.

Agree3 Disagree1

09 Feb 2016 17:24:11
Agree BW. I don't for a minute think Sloth will be useless. No idea about Erwin.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 17:56:31
do you rate sloth? you would know more than me as I have seen nothing of him, I have heard good things on here but my thoughts were if he was good he would of done it in the first team by now, do hope I am wrong though.

Agree1 Disagree2

09 Feb 2016 18:40:47
With Leeds having 6 coaches since MC took over; some better then others, the thing they all have had in common, is the fact that none of them have rated our fringe players! I know all haven't coached all the players, that are in place now, but Dawson comes to mind, non rated him to give him a good run in the 1st team! Sloth seems to be one that at least 3 of them haven't used! Surely they all can't be wrong? Can they?

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 21:29:47
Dont know what Sloth needs to do to get in team. Scores goals, good workrate plenty of energy for u21s, sometimes your face just don't fit, ie monty. Can think of others I would gladly lose before sloth.

Where's his best position Bige?
He looked ok last season I thought although not great. Really thought he would kick on this year. To me he looked like he would be suited in a midfield three with licence to go forward?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 10:55:25
According to yorkshire post cellino said a while back that the trust he set up to run Leeds will not invest further funds untill the situation with the football league is resolved. Sort of explains why its a one out one in policy regarding transfers. Nothing to do with him being skint or being a bad ass. Worth 750 mill and skint at the same time survivor you make me laugh.

09 Feb 2016 11:53:32
I agree big e
Too much gossip on here!
I think he has learnt lessons slowly but surely in eng football
I think he seriously underestimated the quality of the soccer and didn't realise u need quality to get out. He prob also didn't realise 3 mill could buy you dross. I don't expect anymore in and out till September. Why bother now when better be available then.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 13:43:21
On that note guys, what's the situation with the FL? I wondered if perhaps they thought Cellino was damaging Leeds and therefore doing their job for them, so have decided that leave him alone. You can garuntee though that as soon as things start going well, they will reappear with another banning order.

That's just w theory I had, but does anyone no what the situation is?

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 14:40:07
That would back up why Evans changed his tune regarding spending money in the window. I think he will sell up to Parkin as soon as the ban is confirmed. Maybe that's why Harvey and the FL are taking so long to make their decision on the appeal, so it scares away Parkin and we're stuck looking for new owners.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 17:36:08
They didn't faff about like this last time, the delay is very strange.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 18:50:01
Well by taking so long they have ensured we will still be in championship next season which is the FL yearly target.

Agree1 Disagree2

09 Feb 2016 10:19:56
Who would be a football manager/ coach in the championship. Derby County who are presently fifth in the league are now the tenth club to sack their manager this season. The owners seem so desperate for their clubs to get into the premiership or survive in the championship that no managers/ coaches job is save anymore. Are we going to be the next club to join the list?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Derby, weds etc have all spent this season if they don't get promotion could be in trouble .
I do agree seems like madness.

Looking at Sheffield Wednesday. They acquired great squad in two transfer windows. I hope that they go up this season or next. They have better players on every position including their captain on defence who is one of us whom we get rid . Their promotion will be shocking for our fans and I hope that it will push rich Leeds fans to do something, buyout Cellino and the rest. And we will end impossibilism mentality which affects as for far too long.

09 Feb 2016 11:12:54
No chance of them going up!

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Feb 2016 15:24:11
why would you want a rival team to go up. Surely you must want them to over spend over budget fail to go up then have to sale players cheap not be able to buy and get religated. bit like what happened to us. that is the smart leeds fans thoughts surely?

Agree3 Disagree1

09 Feb 2016 15:58:47
Yeh can't understand any Leeds fan wanting the wendies up I personally thought we were the better team there bar the goals.

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Feb 2016 07:00:27
I want them go to up to show us fans that even petty clubs like them can do that with ambitious owner. No more excuses to Cellino and other owners if they want Leeds they must be ambitious and fulfill our expectations. i'm tired of this crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Feb 2016 11:12:36
now come on lajt that is not being fair is it? it is not crap it is just where leeds are at the moment and where we should be. lots of teams go through this their whole history and I think leeds will be this crap for many a season to come due to past history. I think it is unfair to blame our current plight on MC considering what hand he has been dealt and how the club is run. we are where we are due to past owners more than the current one. not every team can be good, not every team can go up, some teams just make up the numbers in the legaue (lot of my local clubs fans have seen this their whole lives) we use to be good, we are not anymore and may never be good again. That doesn't make me want to see local rivals do well. all it should make fans do is realise we are not as big or good as these other clubs which have been run better since 1996. we are all gutted we are not doing better, we would all like promotion but as fans and adults we realise it is not on the cards at the moment and nothing anyone can do about that. so my view as a fan is to take it on the chin in good humour, stop moaning and support the team as best I know how. have a little club mentality it is far more fun and then you enjoy the little mercies like not getting religated, every win is like a cup final win and not getting spanked week in week out is a blessing. some leeds fans live in the past and think we have some devine right. Try thinking like a millwall or leyton orient fan it is far more suited to where this club is not where this club was.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Feb 2016 11:46:04
I understand your point but can't agree with it. Look at SW since their relegation from PL they were moving between Championship and League One. Their best place in Ch was 9 in season 2006/ 2007 and it was only one time when they were in top 10 of Ch and add to this two relegations to L1. So they were poorer even than we. Look at them now after Chansiri takeover two different clubs. I feel anger, frustration and jealousy because how long we will wait for good ownership? Now even Sheffield Wednesday are better than we. I'm sick of this and will never accept 'small club mentality' which affects more and more fans who accept that we are poor and that it fits us. If we accept this nothing will change.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Feb 2016 14:02:36
i do see where you are coming from but don't think we as fans can do much to change it to be honest. also unlike sheff wed and the other clubs we nearly went out of business, outside of portmouth and blackpool no other club in the country was run as badly as us for so long. we are lucky to have any club so compared to our only to real rivals, blackpool and portsmouth we are doing well considering how bad it will be. leeds are a big club with good youth and good fan base so we will rise again and I do think this will be the worse period in our history but don't think changes can really happen over a season or two and do think we will be here for a good five or so seasons and think that is both realsitic and accpectable considering. I also think it is unfair that MC who is crazy but decent is getting stick for past chairmans crimes. MC is not the best but there are far worse out there. and our status being as good as it is is largly down to him. he is not the richest and not the best but a lot better than most will give credit for. While I agree we could be better I am just thankful that I don't have to support leyton orient or crystal palace (which would be my two options should Leeds fold) I do agree with your logic and your sentiment LAjt and think your post are far from silly but I do think it could and should be a lot worse than it currently is.

agreed what have the romans ever done for us. apart from save the club from meltdown. make the club more stable and on a more secure footing. help us pass FFP which looked impossible when he took over. stop selling players for peanuts to finace his own Monaco based home. start getting good money for players. invest own money agaist other investors. and actually buy players for more than 50 quid. other than that what have the romans done for us!
