Just heard Shay Given on the radio saying he hasn't retired yet and would be open to playing in the championship. Even at his age could he be better than what we have?

1.) 10 Oct 2017 14:06:07
was a great Keeper but played 5 conceded 15 last season, his ship might not have sailed quite yet but I don't think its one we want to be on.

2.) 10 Oct 2017 15:44:12
I chatted to him a few weeks ago. In my opinion, he's past it.

3.) 10 Oct 2017 18:19:19
That's your opinion George but it doesn't mean it's a Given! 😜

4.) 11 Oct 2017 07:37:24
True danum but at least Given the information you'll listen to what I had to Shay! πŸ˜„

5.) 11 Oct 2017 15:21:39
Turn the lights out on the way out you two

09 Aug 2017 22:24:19
Me thinks, at last we have someone at Elland Road who knows how to scout players!

danumwhite

1.) 10 Aug 2017 09:36:16
Praise victor, praise Ivan, praise TC, praise radz, and praise MC!

21 May 2017 22:18:56
Apparently Monk is 'odds on' for Middlesbrough job!

danumwhite

1.) 21 May 2017 23:08:28
Saw something suggesting we turned down the approach, we can extend for a year so they need to pay a fee if he leaves. Also suggests Rad is keen to sort out a contract to keep him long term.

2.) 22 May 2017 01:50:09
Monk will leave Leeds early this week. Monk and Radz unable to agree on footballing philosophy and transfer policy, Monk wanted final say but Radz wants director of football in charge of transfers. Monk not set to join Middlesbrough immenintely, Leeds will look to appoint from abroad.

3.) 22 May 2017 16:36:34
And who the hell are you exactly? A Wednesday fan?

01 May 2017 17:51:09
I know it's only speculation regarding the possibility of selling Jannson and Wood but would it be as bad as all that if we were to get the best part of Β£30m for them? If the money was spent well Β£30m could buy 4/5 good level championship players.

danumwhite

1.) 01 May 2017 20:12:04
If you believe what you read then when have new money coming in. A fully fledged media mogul, ready to plot a course for the Premier League. Deal to be done in weeks. Stability needed, hold the few good players we have and sell those clearly not good enough! Cooper (has sheff united written all over him) , Phillips (Bolton or somewhere that enjoys a workman like midfield) .

Doukara (Asda are recruiting home delivery drivers) , Dallas (Sunderland) andAntonsson (back to Sweden) . Retain Bartley with a big offer and let the rest of the loan rangers ride off into the sunset. then replace them with proven championship players. Maybe consider three at the back allowing bridcutt to hold and two more attack minded players employed ahead of him in midfield.

If we ever find the missing Hernandez, pack him off back to Dubai and get someone young and hungry. Sounds easy on paper doesn't it!

2.) 02 May 2017 06:21:29
Agree with most but I'd like to keep fonzie?

3.) 02 May 2017 06:34:54
UKYF yuo think Brridcutt worth keeping? He cost off a play off place, sideway's backward's why we bought him is beyond me. Yes he looked good in shit team last term. This year rubbish.

4.) 02 May 2017 06:36:04
Good post. Think janson. Wood. And taylor will go and i'd say we will get minimum 25-30 mill for them. Agree with most of the to go. Think phillips and dallas worth holding on to for sub bench. Also would be concerned about bridcutt. Def not a starter next year. Central defender. Good positive holding midfielder. Playmaker. Good winger. Two strikers.

5.) 02 May 2017 13:28:36
It's easy to blame bridcut agm but he only plays were and as the manager tells him so monk to blame for the backwards and sideways game he played. Too defensive.

6.) 02 May 2017 15:28:04
I don't think we play Bridcutt in a position to get the best from him. Needs to play deeper with an attacking two. In my opinion our back four looks more fragile when he doesn't play but we lack drive forward when he does. My solution would be to change the formation, let him hold and break up play (what he is good at) and let others be forward thinking and progressive:. Round pegs in round holes. a tad harsh to blame him for us missing out but it's just my view!

23 Apr 2017 17:53:06
I've got a feeling those wanting rid of Monk may get their wish. Not because the owners get rid of him but because he leaves us. I would have thought a few chairmen of lower level premier league clubs and championship clubs with money think he has done a pretty good job with the lack of investment he has been given. I'm sure if ANY premier league club comes in for him he'll be off. Also he's been with clubs for a long time that play in white, he might fancy a bit of colour in his life! 😁

danumwhite

1.) 23 Apr 2017 18:53:37
Don't think he's a quitter. He'll want to see the job through.

2.) 23 Apr 2017 19:41:54
Hope your right big man. But. he ain't stupid and unless he's backed in transfer market he probably will go and who would blame him. 15 mill in transfer fees will go a long way to the squad and sometimes you have to gamble. Remember Silver and Fotherby?

3.) 24 Apr 2017 09:16:14
I can't believe some fans want him to go?

I think If TC is sacked we will get another foreign coach who is used to working under a director of football. Not a lot different to what we have now. The system Radz has in place will not allow for an old style British manager to come in.

danumwhite

1.) 04 Nov 2017 20:42:54
Where is there a successful old style british manager nowadays

2.) 04 Nov 2017 21:02:12
Exactly. I've got a feeling that TC has the potential to be a good coach. It's the players that are the problem. Maybe giving out five year contracts all over the place has given some of them a false sense of security!

3.) 04 Nov 2017 21:02:35
Big Sam, Pardew, Moyes?

4.) 04 Nov 2017 21:34:24
Giles what are big Sam moyes aand pardew doing

5.) 04 Nov 2017 21:40:46
Forming a band?

6.) 04 Nov 2017 22:23:34
Your right Danum, Contracts being extened all over the club. Some correct others not, trying to keep everyone happy. All based on early season form. Would they get them now? Stuck with them now!

7.) 04 Nov 2017 22:24:51
Wex At Burnley Bournemouth and Brighton

8.) 04 Nov 2017 22:37:54
Eddie Howe on the verge of being sacked today George Brightons manager is Irish

9.) 04 Nov 2017 23:38:13
Howe had a great run. Hughton born in England Wex. A place called Forest Gate.

10.) 05 Nov 2017 06:46:22
You want to tell him that George

11.) 05 Nov 2017 11:02:01
I have no need to tell him anything Wex. It is true there aren't many good English managers around and this is not good for the game. I don't see TC turning around these bad results anytime soon. The phase we in right now reminds me of the mid 90s just before the other George became our manager. Soon after he remarked he didn't realize how bad we had become. We just don't have a spine, very little robustness. We've been worked out and it's time to get back to basics but under TC I don't think it can be done. Even if Orta is confident he can bring in 4 players who'll make the difference, what are we meant to do in the meantime?

04 Nov 2017 19:57:37
People still saying TC doesn't have a plan b! His two changes at half time changed the game. Isn't that the meaning of plan b? It's not his fault we have useless keepers, as I'm sure he had nothing to do with buying them.

danumwhite

1.) 04 Nov 2017 20:06:54
TC not the problem lonergan is shocking. TC made the right changes with the players we have. Lassoga offers nothing we are better without him. Better to have a bad spell now than in may. Keep the faith

2.) 04 Nov 2017 20:39:04
I'm struggling to keep the faith at the moment. 3 big mistakes so far this season, IMHO, letting Bridcutt and Green go and not getting a left-back in.

3.) 04 Nov 2017 21:03:27
Green was brutal to start last season and bridcutt not pulling up any trees this season

4.) 04 Nov 2017 21:10:08
Agree about Green Al, did'nt start great last season, but he more than made up for it. So we let an form quality keeper go for the muppets we have now. Don't blame TC look to Orta.

5.) 05 Nov 2017 09:28:25
Oh I can not believe he did not have any say on our current players, if he did not them someone’s head must be for the chop on Monday, it’s time to act Raz now .

6.) 05 Nov 2017 09:37:44
Wexleeds, made the right changes with the players we have? At the start of this season you were all saying how good they all were, dose that now mean they’re not so good after all? It was his choice to let Green go and yes he had a bad start but pulled it round this lot won’t. TC is a likeable man but he’s not right for us at this time,

01 Nov 2017 17:53:45
I have the solution. Whatever we did against Bristol City. Do that! πŸ˜‰

danumwhite

1.) 01 Nov 2017 19:47:54
Well said Danum!

2.) 01 Nov 2017 20:45:51
It was extra in midfield, then last night we went back to 2 in the middle! why?

01 Nov 2017 08:02:58
I think this season we're all more disappointed because we've seen us playing fantastic football. If we had the same points but just playing averagely it probably wouldn't feel so bad. I remember watching the Burnley game thinking, wow we've got two good sides never mind one! That was only a few weeks ago. I have no idea what TC needs to do to sort it, but I'm starting to wonder whether he does?

danumwhite

1.) 01 Nov 2017 08:43:30
Even team that v leicester were adequate. Its all a mess at the moment. TC dosent know if he is Arthur or Martha.

31 Oct 2017 22:01:38
Last season we had 23 points after 15 games. This season we have 23 points after 15 games. At this stage last season Birmingham were one place above us with a game in hand and just avoided relegation. Something needs to be done to stop this slide, and it needs to happen soon. Going back to glass half empty again! πŸ·πŸ‘Ž

danumwhite

1.) 31 Oct 2017 23:32:40
Good point about Derby, they were in that position then they sacked their manager and ended up saving themselves from relegation on the last day! let's give TC a chance. The run of fixtures through to Villa on First dec will define the season. We are trying different ideas and need a bit of luck. Hope TC can do it, not sure changing the manager how is going to help us.

2.) 01 Nov 2017 06:49:24
Are we really trying new idea s though? It's almost entirely the same! We changed to a 433, beat Bristol, narrowly lossy to Sheffield, then reverted back to 4231!
The odd player change of position isn't trying new things.

3.) 01 Nov 2017 07:21:57
The aim is to win more than you lose. How can you say changing manager won't help? You really think we could lose more often with a new manager? he'd have to be pretty poor not to improve oyr recent efforts.

4.) 01 Nov 2017 17:20:05
Yes but unfortunately last season we had a dreadful start. the worrying stat is not the point total it is the recent form and 1 win in 6 is not good enough. if it was me playing 'Football Chairman' on my phone I would give the manager 3 more games and if we lose them all he would be for the chop.

It was definitely Klich. The commentator got it wrong. By the way odea is a Spurs fan. (You know that massive club that's won the title twice, the last time in 1961.) Christ I'm old and I wasn't even born then!
