If we had bought more players in the summer, no game time for Clarke, Shackleton, Aapo posible not Bailey, no bench for Edmundson, Leif Davis. Why is it a bad thing to be leading the league and having given members of the under 23s valuable, match, squad and bench time! Investing in Bielsa and his team, not bad, Douglas, not bad, Brown, great investment, so far cost nothing, oh yes and Bamford!

When they want to go you have to cut them loose. The sooner the better. Team got to be paramount. That may seem harsh but its the reality of the matter. I like Samu. I thank him for the bright moments he has given us and wish him all the best for the future. If his head is not in thr right space there is probably little he can do to fix it. A quick move on is best for both parties.

Bamford showing his class to win the game for us. Still think he will play a massive part this season ignited he stays fit. Could really do with Brown rather than Baker to replace Saiz I’ve not been impressed with Baker so far. I’m on on! MOT!

Agree! If Izzy comes in 1/ 2 as good as Bamford we will be next to unstoppable. Just have to get through the Christmas without losing any more to injury or burning anyone out. as an aside, has anyone noticed how much better we are with discipline under Bub. This time last year we were biting our nails expecting to lose players, one after another, for accumulating too many yellows, not to mention the reds. Gjianni gets a little frazzled at times but, other than that, we are the ones in control.

Good goal from Bamford, took it really well. A skilful strikers goal. Paid back a slice of his transfer fee. But we should have conceded a penalty, sometimes the defence frighten me playing it out from the back. Jack Charlton once said that sometimes you need to know when to put a boot through it and kick it over the stand.

Nine points from our last three games, can't get better than that and we have opened a six point gap to third. Six points from our next three keeps us where we are. Villa will be our bonus game. Honestly think we can beat them but we are away so will settle for a draw. So that's seven points from the next three and a merry Christmas to all.

Today's game now becomes another key test for us in a season of many! I hope the posters saying Saiz is no loss are right, until I've seen Brown in the first team and delivering on his reputation I'm not so sure. If Bielsa wanted shot of him instantly in order to manage the situation, I'll trust his view and hope the team deliver a good post Saiz response today.
I was hoping Saiz would stay and help the team through to Jan, deliver some good performances and leave with a good send off. Today will show us how quickly the team can move on. I have a bad feeling about the game and hope that I am proved wrong! Big job for the coaching team today!

I think that the reasoning behind the Saiz, no loss sentiment is that he's started twice in the last 7 and, TBH, hasn't pulled up any trees, from that point of view, we won't miss him.

Didn't realise Saiz has already gone. Thought he was going in January.
Seems to be Bielsa just told him to bugger off when he put in transfer request. Seems fair enough to me. Not a great loss really.
Izzy to take his place. Saiz was lacking motivation in my eyes where as Izzy has got lots to prove and I'm hoping and believe he will be the man to keep us up there.
