I see Brian Montenegro is getting interest from PL clubs, Norwich and Brighton. Big mistake by Mcdermott not playing him when we needed goals. He has not stopped scoring since he left us. Pleased for the lad always liked watching him play for U23s.

I remember seeing him and posting he'd become a big player for us soon.

2.) 09 Dec 2019 11:08:06
Brainless Brian Mc put paid to that George. We were struggling to score and i think Monte had scored about 13 in as many games for U23s playing on wing. I posted regularly he should be in first team but did mad Mac listen no he did not.

If it is true that when Roofe leaves we are going for Kent my opinion is that is an excellent upgrade. Much as i liked Roofe Kent has a lot more potential and is a class act waiting to happen. Lot of competition for those wing berths unless Bubs has got other ideas for him.

1.) 05 Aug 2019 20:17:58
Doesn’t make sense. Loads of wingers with 1 striker in the squad.

2.) 05 Aug 2019 20:48:55
Kent can play central.

3.) 05 Aug 2019 21:31:26
So can Costa and Harrison.

MM.

4.) 05 Aug 2019 21:37:11
Think MB has ideas about a few playing up front, including Roberts, Harrison and costa. The ability to switch players from the wing to the striker role during a match can cause chaos for opposition defences, and is something I think we will see during the course of this season. Add Kent to the equation, and we can really mix it up, and in attack, we have real strength!

5.) 05 Aug 2019 21:45:20
He's no way a striker.

6.) 06 Aug 2019 06:18:33
We’ve all? ( me included) forgotten we’ve got a fella called Tyler. Hope the lad has an injury free run.

7.) 06 Aug 2019 06:53:55
While Kent is a winger, we all remember what Wenger did with that winger Henry?

8.) 06 Aug 2019 12:20:49
Yes, I do. Since when did an octopus eat a crocodile l?

03 Aug 2019 21:20:16
Rumoured we are after Colidio and Nolan from Inter. Def need some more in, not sure how long it would take to get them Bielsa fit.

I read that to, don't know much about either of them so hope there upto it. I would of preferred experienced guys.

Read Danny Mills reason for Pontus leaving. Its what club told him. Pontus wanted more time off for holiday Bielsa said no. If the boss says i want you back at work you go back to work. Not sure what position is with Unions and players holidays but we know Bub has a strict code he adheres to and so did Pontus. All a bit childish in my eyes but in any job there is a pecking order.

1.) 09 Jul 2019 21:40:12
It's all been badly handled in George opinion. If he wanted more time off, why was he training at all with Malmo? Why not fine the player for employee breach? Was it lucky timing then that the 🐝 came in with an offer? This has been a dispute brewing for some time.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 23:13:43
Agree George think this just helped him on his way. Could have been settled with a fine. Down to Bub this one i think.

06 Jul 2019 23:05:34
Lot of posters turning against Pontus who was a god two weeks ago. Sad to lose him but if he is out of favour and happy to go so be it. What does make me mad is we are selling him to one of our rivals for peanuts. Captained his country and one of the best CBs in the championship and he is only worth 5mill, total joke. Who are we going to replace him with. White may have been able to play alongside Pontus but not with Coops would stand no chance against crosses. Sorry but if we do not get a quality CB in this is a really bad bit of business.

Agree also Wilks going cheap if 1mill is the price. Young talented and if Lowe is worth 2-3 mill he is worth nearer 2mill whatever problems he has in his personal life, they can be sorted, i suppose no one on here got in with the wrong crowd when you were young. Said on an earlier post i was expecting one of Roofe, Pontus or KP to be sold so not too surprised but was expecting Halme to be with us if only for his height
Thing is if we had put a proper valuation on Pontus of at least 10mill it would have made sense but looks like he has gone cheap to get him out of the door.

1.) 07 Jul 2019 02:52:29
Another good post. I believe Pontus was critical of management from the January transfer window and it eventually showed in his attitude. Big boots to fill. Believe we are considering Bielik from the Gooners.

2.) 07 Jul 2019 04:48:41
I agree the price seems cheap (although that will be a profit for us) but it there is bad blood best to get rid rather than upset the depressing room. Rubbish but that’s the modern game. Mate bumped into Orta yesterday and he says we are looking at maybe bringing in 1 more. Didn’t say what position but I can believe a CB.

3.) 07 Jul 2019 04:57:32
Does the magic hat go with the sale? If so that alone has to be worth another 3 mil?

4.) 07 Jul 2019 09:17:36
I actually feel sorry for Pontus and feel some of the criticism on here and elsewhere is undue. The guy obviously got Leeds and fully bought into the fervour of the fans. He obviously also drank in the love for him from the fans and gained energy from this - presumably partly because he had been such a peripheral figure in the latter part of his last season at his beloved Malmo and during his one and a half seasons at Torino.

Whether his exclusion from the team in the playoff semi-final games was down to his reaction to the Villa goal or not who knows, but he was clearly wounded by this, particularly for the game at Elland Road, and especially following what transpired. He had probably dreamed (literally) of scoring the winning goal against Villa in the final - and why not, 'cos he almost always scored against Villa. He would probably have sweated blood in that game to have endured we got to Wembley. But yet he didn't even get on the pitch, and had to watch on with the fans as most of those picked fell apart and surrendered meekly to the loathed Fat Frank and his (former) team - including that wan**er Keogh who played a key role - being allowed to dominate in both boxes.

It's fairly easy to imagine how upset Pontus felt at all this - not just for himself, but for the fans - without seeing the pictures of him slumped alone at the side of the pitch. People criticise him for not being with the rest of the squad to console them etc. But having seen his and our dreams lost in such pathetic fashion, particularly with such mistakes made by the player specifically picked ahead of him, I can understand why he felt the need to be alone with his thoughts.

I can also imagine that there may be concerns over whether with such hurt and disappoinment he can fully reconcile himself with the management and some of his teammates at Leeds, and that is felt best for there to be a parting of the ways.

I don't for one moment think he actually wants to go to a Brentford, but that may currently be his only choice. As for the magic hat - of course it shouldn't be included in the sale, but rather be an exhibit in the Leeds United Museum. Thanks for the memories Pontus.

5.) 07 Jul 2019 10:33:05
The question is has he asked to leave is MB had enough, don't know what's gone on behind closed doors, sorry but 5.5 mill won't get us a dive 1 defender good enough, personally club should of tried to work it out, think he is no more than a lower level premier player at best, but will be a big loss if not replaced,

6.) 07 Jul 2019 11:56:03
IF the situation has broken down irretrevably the so be it. My one thought on this is that the bosses word is final however if you cannot harvest such passion (which often comes with a hot head and a fiery tongue) you are in danger in fielding a team with no passion. A team with no (controlled) aggression and ultimately a team with no stand up and be counted leaders. A team of yes men. Quite rightly if he is a cancer in the dressing room then he should be removed however a, good, manager should not let it get to that. If the situation had been simmering for some while then it beggars belief why we let Halme go? Surely his height would have been invaluable in times of need if we were to go 5 across the back. Still there is time, out there somewhere must be a Pontus clone to instill grit in the back line.

7.) 07 Jul 2019 13:28:03
Tellingly after the direby he said he’d only leave if Leeds sold him

So I suspect things were brewing

Our new style left him exposed at time but he’s better than the current level we play at

In that mad 20 mins vs the sheep we needed a leader or two. I don’t think it’s in his character to be that

Nor do we seem able to sign one

Good technical players only get to play if someone is getting their nose dirty

Which leads me on to Vinne. So sorry for his loss.

8.) 07 Jul 2019 17:32:52
He’s a character, not a leader. Love him, but you can’t have a disruptive influence in the squad.

28 Feb 2020 14:38:26
Really guys having a go at individual players is a bit much. Only KP and White have put in consistent performances this season. Ayling not far behind but getting caught out of position a lot. Alioski at left back is a good winger but poor defender, and before some smart ass tells me they are wing backs i think defending is still a big part of that role as well. Kiko can be excellent for games then play like a man with cataracts in both eyes. Coops is steady, plays within his limits but is hardly commanding or fills me with confidence. Harrison, Pablo, Klich and Costa all been mediocre this season, none playing up to their best regularly. Bam and Dallas put in a lot of work but are not productive, few goals and less assists.
So where are we, oh we are second five points above third, why? We are there because we play a style of football that makes it hard for the opposition to get a foothold in the game. We keep possession and we press high. Thank Bubs for that. The only gripe i have with Bubs is not using the likes of Gotts, Shacks, and Stevens more often.
Its not the players who are at fault its the fact we have little option but to play them. Imagine if we had a Mitrovic up front with a Bowen in behind him we would destroy teams, but we have not. that's not our players fault if we did not buy them. We have what we have and they are doing a great job in my opinion given their limitations. Must say i am proud of what they have achieved so far and hope they take that final step with promotion, when sadly we will say goodbye to some of them. Onwards and upwards.

1.) 28 Feb 2020 14:59:27
Dallas also been consistent as stated every match and in various positions. Has done alright our lad has. 👌👍👍⚽️⚽️⚽️.

2.) 28 Feb 2020 16:03:06
Not saying he has not Batty, man for all positions, master of none. Can always count on him to put a good shift in though. A few more goals and assists and he would be a stand out player.

3.) 28 Feb 2020 17:02:01
Don't think shacks is going to make it at a higher grade IMO. Dallas has been a real plus for us at full back this season, as bazza crumbles even looking at a tackle, and Gianni hasn't the brain for defense ( ok going forward ) though. We have what we have now come what may . Let's just hope it's enough.

4.) 28 Feb 2020 18:53:40
BB- you say Dallas is master of no position, whereas he's been seen by pundits and teammates as Motm on a number of occasions this season and has performed very well in a number of positions at international level. Doubtless some will suggest that Northern Ireland is a fairly ordinary team, so few plaudits due for making that team, but surely all the more remarkable that he's contributed significantly to a number of outstanding results against superior opposition.

5.) 28 Feb 2020 20:04:14
Not saying he has not contributed. Fact is he can not make any position his own so master of none. Said if he could score more or at least get assists, if others could score, would rate him a lot higher. All the players contribute and that's put us where we are. Dallas puts a shift in no question, hard worker but in my eyes nothing special, not a game changer but good player at this level. Not saying he is at fault, he plays where he is put but if such an excellent right back as some say why is Ayling there, why is Harrison on left wing. I sort of think if we had a full fit squad he may be on the bench.

6.) 29 Feb 2020 08:26:20
Dallas is in goal today lads

Mr versatile

Gotts and Shacks time will come, Stevens and one or two others as well. Mckinstry looks a right player as is Bogutsz

Player development is not always overnight.

Trust the process.

Scrappy game but 1-0 again, did what we had to do. Shame Fulham got one late on but still 5 clear. Not going to dwell on the performance as it is points that matter now and we got 3 so happy bunny. onwards and upwards.

1.) 26 Feb 2020 22:12:42
A win is a win is a win.

2.) 26 Feb 2020 23:06:18
Definitely a pity about Fulham tonight. But to look at it another way, they've just squeezed past Swans at home, having dropped 7 points from their previous 3 games - including the home loss to Barnsley, and they're yet to play all of the other teams in the top 7. Hopefully a few more dropped points for them in those fixtures.

3.) 27 Feb 2020 09:42:25
Personally more concerned about Florists than Fulham for the run in.
That said, I don’t feel any of the teams below us will having the staying power, or consistency to challenge us for the top two.

4.) 27 Feb 2020 12:28:25
Indeed Bright, Florists definitely concerning me more, precisely because of Fulham's tough run-in.

15 Feb 2020 21:37:45
Excellent result and performance. Will settle for that every game, would be nice to score more but its points that matter. KP and Harrison top performers for me today. Every one happy today, results going our way as well and this time we took advantage and we are 3 points clear of third, mad in it. Think a couple more games and JKA will prove to be a hand full.

1.) 16 Feb 2020 09:51:40
Watched a video of Zidane the other day, and whilst I am by no means putting JH in his league, Harrison’s first touch, 9 times out of 10, is sublime! The phrase I’ve used before here, is “it’s like he’s catching the ball on a wet sponge”. Both he and Kal were great yesterday, yes.

2.) 16 Feb 2020 10:05:29
I think I watched that same 2 minute video of clips of Zidane recently! Had forgotten what an amazing first touch he had! Worth a watch for everyone! Something for Jack to aspire to!

12 Feb 2020 10:33:00
Well i was happy with that result given our current form. Did not expect anything from the game to be honest. Nice of Bubs to give JKA a cameo. Beats me how anyone can judge him on a ten or twelve minute performance but there you go. Nothing different last night to inspire me we will go on a winning streak but we should, and need to, win our next two. let's hope Wall can do us a favour tonight. Squeaky bum time again.

The running costs will not have altered much from previous years unless the rents gone up so the increase in costs must be down to wages. Previous years we have done ok so not sure why we are in such dire straits this season. When you quote £4.5mill then you need to take into account last season Bam was here on same wage so not all extra. kp and Bam maybe a million more than last season. Costa and Kiko on high wages but we did offload over 15 players in summer. Not adding up for me.

I think all the leagues are handling this haphazardly. They have finished the season in France with no plan how to finalise placings, no plan of entry to to European cup games. They have had over a month to debate this and possible outcomes so you would have thought they would have a plan about what's going to happen and whether clubs will be reimbursed for losses. No we will just finish the season and spend the next 12 months in litigation which will affect the start of the new season anyway. These governing bodies need a good shake up, no doubt they will blame their respective governments for their failings.
