Is anyone else worried Phillips will be sold in January?

Apparently wolves readying a £30m bid.

Someone fill me with confidence that he won't leave please. I'm worried he's attracting too much attention not to attract several different, large, testing January bids.

Nope, we have raised enough to cover FFP this season

He doesn’t want to leave

He wants Bermo to get that tattoo.

2.) 14 Aug 2019 11:26:01
If we get offered 30 million and he wants to go, I suspect he will go! We have time to be preparing and scouting other options. Might depend a lot on our league position, how likely promotion is and the size of the new contract offer.

3.) 14 Aug 2019 12:21:28
Cant see Wolves paying £30m for Philips. Shall I get some petrol in the car just in case?

You can't have it both ways - either he does well and we will benefit as a team and attracts attention or he plays badly and the team suffer and he goes unnoticed. In this league anyone that does well is likely to be targeted.

If he signs a new contract it is less likely but if he doesn't then we will need to cash in come January or lose money which I cannot see Radz doing.

4.) 14 Aug 2019 15:25:08
If we have a bad start to the season and are not in the mix at Christmas, we will see what Phillips wants to do.

5.) 15 Aug 2019 12:43:39
yes 6points clear why go . the team that plays will be hero's.

6.) 15 Aug 2019 15:35:43
If a contract is not agreed before Jan you know he is going, how else will we pay for Costa. Not down to KP this, Radz raised the bar as far as wages go so he should be one of the top earners. Think if we are in the top two in Jan he will probably get what he wants, he wants to be at Leeds when we get promoted so give him the contract.

7.) 16 Aug 2019 10:00:17
I've already told you guys his sale in January is inevitable. Radz won't turn down that kind of wonga especially if there's no signature from KP.

8.) 24 Aug 2019 15:39:04
No Championship Club would turn down 30 million!

Marcelo has said that he will only sign players if he feels they will improve the squad. We won 3-1 today, I personally feel it may be a double edged sword. What if he turns round n says "we don't need no one we beat Bristol city 3-1" in argentine of course. Bristol looked poor to me, mid table. We need another striker really now roofes going, and any injuries to CB's will dislodge Philips best position for the sake of covering in defence. Casilla was all over the place, but defence played out well from the back at times. We've got 3-5 players of 15+ goal capability. I'm positive.

Regards Lundy.

Just for those who are interested, the language spoken in Argentina is Spanish (although not exactly like the European Spanish) .

I agree Bristol weren't particularly impressive but they did cause us issues at the back despite a string debut from White. Casilla still an absolute liability and will cost us games I fear. I would be happier with an additional, physical CB who we could use in certain games and backup.

Was very impressed by Forshaw. he could have a massive part to play this year and his passing looked excellent.

2.) 05 Aug 2019 09:41:12
Alf

We have that big cb your wanting. Struick.

Dont see the point in spending good money on a big guy who will play 10 games a season, if we have a youngster that we can help to improve. Slowly slowly he takes over from Cooper.

If we had got promotion I would have said both Jansson and Cooper would have needed replacing (Roofe too) .
If we get promotion this year I would still say the Premiership is a step too far for Cooper so we will still need a couple of new centre backs.

No point in spending good money on guys who will only be good enough for a Championship push this season, and expensive reserves next season.

3.) 05 Aug 2019 09:44:36
We have a great record against Bristol, so feet firmly on the ground lads.

4.) 05 Aug 2019 14:19:11
Nice one axe, absolutely no point buying "good championship players" unless we give them a one year contract of course 😁.

Good morning everyone it's Lundy here again. I picked up the daily star this morning which features a big double spread on Bielsa praising the passion of the club, highlighting this as a reason for staying on. We should all be proud of ourselves for creating this passionate feeling. Now onto the rumours.

Roofe is going with a medical booked for Monday with Anderlecht £5-£7m. A poll of fans suggests our preferred replacement for him would be Brentford's Neil Maupay, but paper talk this morning is pointing towards a loan move for Gayle.

Other rumours include villa's fierce interest in Philips has cooled and Bielsa states in the star article that if he's in the squad for Bristol City tomorrow he is staying.

Another rumour with legs that's been bouncing around for a couple of days is this 19yr old striker from Inter Milan, Facundo Colidio who scored 12 in 31 last season under Conte. Radz met with the inter board on Friday to discuss a potential late window swoop (£10m) , but it seems Newcastle also have their fingers in this pie.

Other talk includes a loan to buy for Ryan Kent, but he's a winger isn't he? We need a striker - oh and a CB for heavens sake!

Take care gang.

I think Bielsa has passion for football. He would put the same dedicated effort anywhere he goes. He did a great job last year, but some would argue not good enough. If we don’t go up this season he will go. This is why such as Roofe and Phillips don’t really have any assurances about their future, after all this could be the managers last season. Phillips maybe not as much, as he would still command a decent move away if we fail, but Roofe?

That’s the pessimism out of the way. If we can get such as Gayle and keep the team fit, we’ll walk the league!

Leeds rumours post.

So I'm hearing down the grapevine Kalvin has signed a new 3 year deal with a release clause if we fail to win promotion.

Roofe move to rangers has collapsed due to 'false misrepresentation' by his agent. His agent stirring things up for his own cut? Snake.

Bielsa ready to cash in on Kiko Casilla, looking at Newcastle's Karl Darlow as a replacement.

Still nothing a new CB and I'd like to see the Lowe or Early season O'dowda rumours get some more momentum.

Under Lund United

1.) 13 Jul 2019 16:50:34
Never heard of a release clause like that. The only release clauses are if a certain bid comes in.

MM.

2.) 13 Jul 2019 17:58:02
Nah MM, there are release clauses that can activate if certain conditions are met. Some Premier League sides place relegation release clauses in their players' contracts so that they can leave for a certain fee if the team goes down.

3.) 14 Jul 2019 09:00:21
Just a thought

(I might have made up all these facts)

In past seasons, don't the premier league clubs have to declare their squads for the coming season?

Once this has occurred don't they work out what to do with those that haven't made the cut?

Isn't that the time that most of their transfers out occur?

Isn't it also the time that they sort out who they are going to loan to whom?

My deduction from my, probably wrong, logic is that we are all stillawaiting the Premier league clubs to finalise their squads for the coming season. And that the majority of the transfer activity is still to happen

This is not me stating any credible facts, just wanting to know if we are still to do business and this is a knowledgeable forum.

4.) 14 Jul 2019 12:38:11
Think you are right axe if lower PL clubs lose players to the big clubs then they will be raiding the championship for players.

5.) 16 Jul 2019 05:02:46
I think it used to be Sept sometime but now the window closes earlier the impact is not the same as it once was.

Good day to you all it's under lund United here.

So from scanning web blogs and rumour articles online I am thinking that the Romaine Sawyers transfer has legs. Last year of his contract and estimated cost is a bargain at £2.5m.

More rumours circulating of Jamal Lowe again as I pointed out in a previous post a few weeks ago. I'd love to see this.

If Kemar Roofe goes there is a few shouts for his replacement Dwight Gayle who isn't wanted by Newcastle, but their change in manager may also mean a change of opinion on his place at the club. A better striker than Roofe for me, but I'd be happy with either, fully annoyed with neither.

Looks like Cahill rumours have ceased. But we need a CB after the sales of several of our own. Anyone any idea or heard anything on the jungle drums for a CB to Leeds?

Take care.

let's cut to the chase here we're all refreshing constantly anyway. lundy surmises from his scouting activity;

eddie nketiah is leaning towards a 1 year loan deal for leeds according to bbc reporter david ornstein. well it's us or bristol city. come on, bristol? i haven't liked pirates since i was like .5. oh that's the other one.

the sun report leeds are set to land the 1-year lone of cb cameron carter-vickers (21) from spurs citing marcelo's excellent relationship with spurs boss mauricio as the basis of a good slippery mud bath to wrestle out a hard fought deal with victor orta in.

everyone knows about the keeper from lorient. another 1 year loan, back up to kiko i think so ignore the tripe saying sevilla are back in. they're not back in, they moved in their chair and farted to which leeds replied "what's that? " 'nothing, just farted' answered sevilla. "good, " said leeds. "he's one of us now. "
players can be sold until august 31st, so let's hope sevilla don't follow through with that 'fart' for everyone's sake.

phil hay squelches anymore rumours of philips leaving before 5pm tomorrow. possibly the biggest season changer.

goal.com reports talks between ryan kent and leeds are going well, £7m (+add ons) never heard of add ons but he sounds like a decent player. bielsa keen, lund is keen, paper talk is also keen - we can't sign everyone.

can't find any current news on nolan and falcundo. think someone said they're done deals and old news?

outs: tom pearce - barnsley (£275,000) see ya 👋

it's like a bl**dy beehive on here last few days keep it up lads.

lundy.

Nobody likes a follow through, so hopefully Sevilla won't shart themselves Under Lund.

Ryan Kent probably due a testimonial so that’ll hold things up.

Probably announce he’s signed for Bournemouth of Norwich at 4:55pm.

Good evening everybody! I'm enjoying the positive spin I'm seeing on here about the whole of the squad. I don't think the situation is as bad as some of the gloomsters are foreseeing.

The bookies have Leeds as the favourite to promotion. There's a reason the odds are short on favourites - because it's likely to happen! Don't forget bookies usually get it right.

This must be what bielsa wants, clearing out, few players in, keep the squad comradeship positive building on last year. If he didn't want this, he'd of walked or wouldn't of signed again. So you have to ask - do we trust Bielsa? I do, so quietly confident.

Can anyone predict the starting lineup next Sunday? Excited to see Helder Costa and pablo tear things up!

Under Lund United

1.) 28 Jul 2019 22:08:14
Ever heard of a bookies favourite.

2.) 28 Jul 2019 22:56:03
as a gambling man bookies don't get it right they back the popular choice like with england and the world cup. leeds have a huge fan base so making us favs makes sense. the smart money sadly is not on leeds is it. i will gadly give odds of 25-1 of us not going up. love to be wrong but i sadly am not wrong often. make that ever.

3.) 28 Jul 2019 22:58:17
Leeds are favourites based on last years performance and having a large fan base placing bets on them. The only form is last seasons and that is basically what the bookmakers are going on.

4.) 28 Jul 2019 23:55:12
25-1 on us not going up?
To be honest Berm not sure if you mean not going up or mean going up.
I think I'd take either bet TBH.

5.) 29 Jul 2019 00:37:55
Under lund, I not sure I could confidently predict our starting lineup for Brizzle, or indeed our set-up, based on pre-season, but I don't think that is a bad thing.

I've seen some comments on here decrying Bielsa's mixing up of the squad etc over the various games, and suggesting this gives the players less chance to be ready for the first game.

Given Bielsa's previous for focussing on the detail, it seems likely the players will have a clear idea of what the set up will be and individually what is required of them within it. Surely we should rejoicing if we've no idea what Bielsa's going to do, as it means that bell-end Lee Johnson won't have a scooby either.

6.) 29 Jul 2019 10:30:03
Stoke were the favourites at the start of last season. 🤔.

7.) 29 Jul 2019 11:49:28
Sorry, also wanted to say that I reckon Bielsa has mixed up squads, played different formations etc, to avoid giving the opposition any idea of what we are going to be like before the season starts. I bet he’s had people at every friendly played by teams in this league, and expects them to do the same, so why give anything away? Just strikes me as that sort of gaffer.

Could be anyone of Harrison Costa Hernandez and hopefully Kent 1 all interchangeable with bogusz I think could play number 10 and Clark and shack as wingers. More options than a McDonald’s touchscreen.

I backed 3-1 correct score last week.
This week I’m going scorecast 2-0 Bam Bam 1st scorer. Then a correct flutter of 4-1 or 3-0.
