well premier clubs saying play games home away or no clubs go down . good for the ones going down . looking after there own club, so we have to finish . whenever that is . could be a lot of legal action . in 2021 one could play a knockout league in groups without any going up and down, so this year gets finished teams go up down . and resume aug 2021 . at least clubs will get some money coming in . yes one year out . but safe, and leagues would need sorting out as a lot of clubs will fold . hard but a different way might be the answer for next season .

I actually think Bielsa knows that it takes a certain amount of time to get used to his system and his demands and therefore whenever there are new players it takes time before he really starts to use them in the team. This would make sense with him starting the season with pretty much the same team that finished last season (who understood the requirement) and now we are seeing new players gradually being introduced and becoming more prominent (Costa is now starting to get more game time etc. )

2.) 21 Oct 2019 18:57:27
I think Costa is getting time due to Hernandez being out. Will be interesting to see who gets dropped once Pablo is fit again.

3.) 22 Oct 2019 14:17:23
it takes time hang on he's up front and by himself so straight forward.

4.) 22 Oct 2019 21:45:44
and he saves us.

29 Jul 2019 09:04:43
so now kp wants to go . left it late . do villa still want him?

ohmygod

1.) 29 Jul 2019 10:11:45
As I read it (and I may be wrong) KP does not actually want to go, he just doesn't want to commit himself to a new contract on the basis which is currently offered. His hope presumably is that we get promoted this season and that he then stays with us for the long term on a new contract. His agent will have advised him that if we do indeed get promotion, the club would likely offer improved contracts to all players they wished to keep, but that he would have stronger hand in negotiations if he only had the one remaining year on his existing contract - so less jam for today but with expectation of more tomorrow. If KP had wanted to go, he would said so earlier.

Obviously if we do not go up there will be a stronger test on KP's desire to stay here.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 21:39:26
KP does not want to go at all. He wants treating fairly that's all. Villa were offering him 60,000 a week. He is on about 10,00 at the moment. All he wants is the same wage two of our biggest under performers are on.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 00:48:56
Wants to go? Said who, a lazy journo.

4.) 30 Jul 2019 17:53:22
£10 a week's not much.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 21:07:38
I’ve heard he’s on 7k a week.

30 Jun 2019 11:22:15
costa not going to cost a lot of money now on loan. so does this owner have any money? is this why player deals fall through . on the bright side should see 3/4 deals this week . spend a bit and get it back when one goes up .

ohmygod

1.) 30 Jun 2019 11:48:38
Ben white having a medical today supposedly. The start of the good news I hope!

2.) 30 Jun 2019 11:54:37
3/ 4 deals? Not bad for someone with no money.

3.) 30 Jun 2019 13:44:13
Club said they had 5mill for loans. Harrison 1mill, Costa 2mill and whatever White costs. If we get a substantial sum up front from spurs would allow a couple more in. Only spending money that is generated through the club and sales. Investment was made on purchase of club and ground. Now it will be run within its means which is fine by me if we get the right players. Costa is, White is, Harrison not decided.

4.) 30 Jun 2019 13:48:53
Well said.

5.) 30 Jun 2019 15:43:32
Spot on Bielsabud. I think Harrison will be excellent this year!

6.) 30 Jun 2019 16:10:17
Hope he is Bright, he certainly has the potential to special let's hope he pulls it all together next season.

7.) 30 Jun 2019 19:47:38
Not sure about special but he can be a very effective championship player. Last season 4 goals and 3 assists. This season I’d be hoping for double that at least. The lad has a great attitude and work ethic and that’s one thing you can’t buy.

8.) 30 jun 2019 23:17:44
yes but most are loan deals ok.

9.) 01 Jul 2019 08:49:36
Harrison didn't really get going until January (particularly after Saiz left) and I think improved steadily toward the end of the season. He knows what it is all about now, shouldn't need any time to bed in, and will benefit from a decent pre-season and a year of championship experience. Let's see.

#inbielsawetrust.

10.) 01 Jul 2019 12:41:21
Radz has money but he doesn’t put any into the club. The club finances itself and any money for players or loans comes out of that. We made a loss last season so we needed player sales to make up that loss and give us money for incomings. Enter JC deal. The proceeds from that deal will go toward £5m in signings as we have already been told.

23 Sep 2018 14:45:10
yes two keeper blunders but we're 5th of the way through and one loss if we stay like that then were up.

as things stand it's going to be restart of this season march 2021 . because this virus spread like wild fire and will be around for some time . so time out football on back foot. lives come first.

ohmygod

1.) 03 May 2020 15:23:49
If that's the case we have lost one full year so may as well finish off this season next march then!

2.) 04 May 2020 08:36:18
thats what i said march 2021.

01 May 2020 10:00:47
well dreamland . fa need to grow some . games behind closed doors anywhere . but then august things back to normal . well if one can't go straight into shop pubs hotels closed then how the hell can 10/ 60000 fan go to a game, so behind closed doors until 2021 . how on earth are clubs going to pay wages . truth is no football this year . and then what 80% of club will be no more . players contracts cancelled . as for what games abroad but no flights . if by some luck the virus just goes then yes it will be ok but really it not going to happen life will take a long time to be normal, even a holiday is unlikely footbal on the back post till a least 2021 . who will survive not many.

OMG - when times get dark, people often resort to humour, so while some apparently crass comments may have been made please don't leap to judgement on those who have posted them.

I think we all realise how serious the implications of Covid-19 can be for individuals affected. Some of us may be in the older with pre-existing heart/ lung etc conditions category for whom it could potentially be fatal, and most will have friends and relatives in a similar position.

I think most will also realise that smaller clubs could face cash-flow problems with this - though the FA may possibly step in to help out, as this would be a very different scenario to problems created by poor management/ governance within the clubs affected.

2.) 12 Mar 2020 09:28:35
NBA has been suspended after a Utah Jazz player tested positive. It will be interesting to see what happens next and what they do about the rest of the season.

3.) 12 Mar 2020 12:47:25
I concur with Clueless, this British gallows type humour is synonymous with any crisis the Country is facing. And whilst I agree to many it is in bad taste it actually plays an important part in terms of morale, positivity and fight.

I actually thought the governments rationale for NOT stopping major sporting events made some sense.

50,000 people you still (realistically) are at greatest risk from the nearest 50 or so people sitting (as stadiums are now) where as if it’s played behind closed doors there’s every chance people will be squashed together like sardines in pubs up and down the land with ‘potentially’ an increased risk of spreading or contracting the virus.

I have many family members that I am naturally very concerned for. However, I do believe the press and news services have been very irresponsible in their reporting and are actually driving this ridiculous panic buying and increased level of fear. Either way I am certain the championship will be concluded albeit with an extended timeline.

4.) 12 Mar 2020 12:48:03
Playing behind closed doors is inevitable now as governments will quite rightly say that the health of the population far outweighs the impact on finances. However, I've no doubt Sunday's game at Cardiff will go ahead, which would leave Leeds with five home games and only three away left to complete.

That would be the best scenario for the EFL and FA in the hope that we don't gain promotion. An empty stadium will be a great leveller and our home advantage could be crucial at this stage in the season.

MM.

5.) 12 Mar 2020 13:30:14
Conversely it could take pressure off the players as there is a great weight of expectation at ER which not everyone can cope with.

6.) 12 Mar 2020 14:35:15
Could do Alf, but I think the team are handling the pressure of expectation at home games very well at the moment and it's more of a bonus playing at home than a hindrance. We're always worth a goal or an assist!

MM.

7.) 12 Mar 2020 15:57:14
Don’t think games should be played behind closed doors, because as others mention, it will lead to clubs going out of business. The season should either be suspended, to be concluded at a later date, or cancelled, with an “as you are” result. Positions should stand due to the proximity of season end. Very unlikely, and wishful thinking on my part I suppose.
Whatever they do, I foresee a legal poo pile up ahead if fixtures or season is affected!

8.) 12 Mar 2020 17:01:18
OMG funny, your more concerned about football clubs going out of business, think about the one who haven’t made it mate you post is no better.

9.) 12 Mar 2020 18:36:01
surely if games are cancelled the clubs will also face the same issues as if they are played behind closed doors. they still need to pay overheads, wages and other costs regardless of whether the games go ahead. the only real way is for the football league to compensate them based on their average attendances.

08 Mar 2020 12:55:12
well i think charlton cardiff wigan cost us if we had done the job we would be miles clear . but we should remember we have won the most games . were top at the right time we have the points and they have to catch us . so ever win puts the boot in.
