Huddersfield didn't do us any favours it would be too much to ask for them to scupper Ipswich.

Very much looking forward to the match today but under no illusions that our defense and midfield has to be better aligned and playing with a considerable more confidence if we are to win this game.
After having not so long ago having the best defense in the lègue to almost the worst is a worrying factor.
Just hoping they can all dig deep and rediscover that form once again and get this victory over the Saints.
Then we’ll see what comes after.

04 May 2024 08:48:38
Pretty much everything in a nutshell there, OP!
Fingers crossed time!

04 May 2024 10:08:50
Rodon and Ampadu have been doing extra training sessions, to work on attacking set pieces.
So we might just see a headed goal from a corner/ free kick.

04 May 2024 10:47:10
But if we don't get promoted for 3 or 4 years their contracts will run down and they become free agents.

04 May 2024 12:24:50
Has it just dawned on the coaching staff and players that the corner set pieces hasn’t been great, on the final game of the season?! Seriously?!
I actually thought Martin was resting his 5 regular starters the last couple of games, looking towards the playoffs, but how naive of me, he was resting them for his cup final against Leeds and his former manager! He obviously doesn’t give a monkeys if any of them get injured today, and miss the playoffs, as long as he can beat us. For me, you shouldn’t need any team talk, that alone should be enough to stuff them. Come on Leeds.

04 May 2024 08:33:57
Hoping someone knows the answer to this, if we don't achieve promotion before all the loanees contracts expire do they leave for free leaving us with a massive debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2024 08:50:02
No. Only Koch, Bill, and I think Greenwood have expiring contracts.
The rest can only leave if we sell them.

04 May 2024 08:55:42
My understanding is and I’m willing to be corrected, is that they all have a second year loan clause.

04 May 2024 09:00:51
Just sell them all.
I would have considered Harrison to fill a bit of gap of losing Jimmy but not now he proud Tonian.
Sell all first week of window. Sell all surplus squad second week. Rebuild third week. Sorted.

Call me the eternal optimist, a dreamer, or just plain crazy, but I have another of my gut feelings.

Leeds will beat Southampton
Huddersfield will beat Ipswich

and as a result we will be automatically promoted.

I only hope it is as correct as my previous gut feelings.

Let the journey begin Jungle! On On On!

04 May 2024 07:06:56
This is it boys, judgement day! Good post Jungle, and I pray 🙏 you are right mate, but if not, dry your eyes mate as it’s off to Wembley we go 👍 we are all wounded but a good team performance today against the Saints bodes well for the play offs. DF needs to put a huge marker down today to say, ‘we are Leeds, we want this more than you’ nothing less than our strongest possible team needs to be on that pitch, and the players on that pitch need to leave everything they have on it, nothing less will suffice! Alright, we have been hurt, but we have a second bite at the cherry, and how many teams would give their right arm for that opportunity, stop sulking Leeds, seize this opportunity and you will go down in Leeds United history, come on Daniel, come on Leeds, let’s do this MOT ALAW 👍👍🙏🙏🤞🤞👍👍.

04 May 2024 07:57:43
I have a feeling also Jungle

A feeling that you didn't go bed yet have downed to much alcohol and had a " good idea " and are now talking silly with a phone in your hand 🤣

We probs beat Saints alright

But Ipswich will clobber udders

Not sure about playoffs, as it's just a Leeds thing to be rubbish at them once again 🤣.

04 May 2024 08:05:49
Rousing speech Sir Woody Churchill

Think Leeds will win narrowly
Leeds 2 Saints 1

But the devotees of Crufts will get beat easily

Ipswich 3 Huddersfield 0

So.

Brush up on your singing of " Wemberley Wemberley we are the famous Leeds United. "

04 May 2024 08:16:11
I’m not sure what I think. Anything could happen. I think we will beat saints but my head says tractors will trounce the dogs.
My heart says two tractors sent off in first half and five dodgy pens awarded to the dogs and they hold off a tractor 4 goal added time fight back to win 4-5.

04 May 2024 08:35:18
You may mock the source of my gut feeling Chris x 2 (none of your theories are correct I might add 🤣) , but I have only had "gut feelings" like this twice before.

Both times they were correct, even though the predicted outcomes were considered to be unlikely.

That is why I remain hopeful and, to be doubly sure, have put my money on both Saints and Ipswich winning.

Me backing anything is the kiss of death. 🤣.

04 May 2024 09:05:56
What were the 2 previous correct "gut feelings" Jungle?

Any details?

04 May 2024 09:41:53
Think 🤔 one was you and George talk bollcks and the other one was Leicester would be champions.
Can’t argue with that form x.

04 May 2024 10:00:04
I don't get them often Baz.

First time was March last year to beat Wolves scoring 3+ goals and more recently last month to beat Middlesborough scoring 3+ goals.

There must be a posting history somewhere if you wanted to check it.

04 May 2024 10:01:43
Oh and I forgot to mention you could ask any of my mates in my punters about what happens when I bet on something.

04 May 2024 10:45:13
Great post jungle, and I’ve had the same bet today an all. Leeds and the Terriers both to win (calling then the Terriers today, not The Dogs, because I’m their biggest fan for one day only - what have I been reduced to 🤦‍♂️)
🚜👦👦 are going to choke and lose 2-0 and Leeds, a late Joe Geldhart goal (85th minute sub, scores in 98th minute) . Leeds go up, Baz starts calling for Farke to be crowned manager of the year, (the other) Junior Firpo is worshipped as a God throughout Yorkshire

My bet was just a double, Leeds and udders to win, it wasn’t all the other details but don’t worry, it’s nailed on.

04 May 2024 11:14:33
OK cheers Jungle. Yep I remember the Boro one.

04 May 2024 16:26:33
Is that what your ☠️🐕‍🦺 told you?

03 May 2024 21:25:06
Is it me or is there a lot of bickering going on.
We have either 1 game left or 4, and i know whatever happens I will still be Leeds, and don't get me wrong I've shouted and screamed throughout the season, but we have all been round long enough to know that Leeds never have it easy.
Would you like it easy? Not sure I would, what did manutd have to talk about in the 90s, nothing that's what, just boring winning every week. Life is a rollercoaster just got to ride it, and i for one will take the ups, downs and bumps.
Looking forward to the journey whatever the destination. MOT.

Good post Dougie.

Wherever we find ourselves next season, you are quite right, we will all be shouting and screaming again (and we will enjoy every minute of it! )

03 May 2024 23:06:13
Dougie We could also and more than likely have 3 games left.

04 May 2024 01:19:12
Baz the Bookie
Place your bets

3 games left 1/ 2

4 games left evens

1 game left 16/ 1.

04 May 2024 09:30:16
So based on those odds Baz, your prediction is our season ends in the Play-Off semi finals?

03 May 2024 21:25:06

04 May 2024 10:35:10
Great post Dougie, even though I let myself get involved in the bickering. It’s a shame, automatic promotion is still on today (marginally) and we should be buzzing with excitement today! But instead….
If positions were reversed between us Ipswich and they just needed a win and us to lose to have a shot at promotion I’m sure their fans would be buzzing together.
C’monnnnnnnnnn! It’s on today, I’ve even had a bet Leeds and Udders both to win.

03 May 2024 15:13:22
Is there only me still feeling a little bit of optimism for tomorrow. All it needs is Ipswich to fluff it tomorrow and that's more than possible. And then us to win (a bit less likely, but come on) ! It's easily still on.

Otherwise I don't really like getting involved in the bickering but I couldn't resist responding to all the Farke criticism. He might have made a couple of team selections over the course of a season that some of us might not have agreed with, but so has every manager across all the leagues. But on the whole he's been great.
Just think back to what he inherited and what a lot of us were predicting at the start of the season; "mid-table at best", "we'll be lucky not to get relegated again". He's done a remarkable job and we should appreciate him a bit more (in my humble opinion, but I'm usually wrong any way)

Agree6 Disagree0

03 May 2024 15:36:41
Totally agree, a victim of his own success comes to mind.

03 May 2024 15:57:28
At the end of Summer window he lost Sini but surprisingly Gnonto remained. plus CS, GR, PB, DJ

Along with the key signing of JR as well as EA . he had a strong team.

90 points is nothing more than par for the course for a newly relegated EPL team with parachute payments

Last season Burnley 103 or something even Sheff U 91

Bottom line though for Farke and Martin is that both have been out performed by McKenna . Ipswich finishing above Leeds and Southampton is not acceptable.

03 May 2024 17:46:33
Good posts Firps and OP. Bored to death of reading the rest, on repeat, again.

03 May 2024 18:10:53
Totally agree TRJFirpo, after the summer window closed and we knew what squad we had, I believe many on here were thinking mid-table at best.
He has done fantastically well, and yes, McKenna has done better, but that doesn’t take away from the Leeds effort. When Leicester won the league, nobody started criticising the managers of Man U, Arsenal, Citeh etc, we all knew it was a fluke and they rode their luck and momentum. It happens!
Let’s just crack on, see what tomorrow brings and if that’s the playoffs, so be it, and if that brings Championship football next season, so be it. I’ll still enjoy it and have a better chance of getting tickets!

03 May 2024 18:57:39
Victim of his own success 😂😂😂😂.

03 May 2024 19:12:27
Sorry Bazooka but I don’t know anything about Burnley’s promotion squad last season or owt, but to compare them and us you’d need to compare the players they lost, the summer they had, the pre-season prep. And ours at the start of this season was woeful in all of those respects.
Better to compare what he’s done to what we realistically expected and he’s done a very good job overcoming all those hurdles.
Plus keeping hold of certain players who wanted to leave who have been key this season, which was great work. I for one was saying “get rid of them if they don’t wanna be here”. And I’m happy to have been proved wrong btw- look at the positives and just get behind him for one more game (maybe 4 more games)

03 May 2024 19:57:31
Firpo
Farke's done ok so far . if we go up then much better ofc.

03 May 2024 19:46:26
You can shove those little laughing emoji’s right where the sun don’t shine Whiteman, you of all posters on here is bereft of any understanding of what professional football is about.
Have a nice weekend fella and let’s hope Leeds lose tomorrow so you can have more of a moan.
Pitiful.

03 May 2024 20:19:35
Well said OP.

03 May 2024 20:21:32
OP
Relaxxx sweetie
Have a beer ( it's on Whitey) 🤣.

03 May 2024 20:58:50
If we'd have been hovering around 6-10 all season and got into the playoffs I think we'd all be pretty buzzing getting there.

Just a bitter pill to swallow when you've been top, had a great unbeaten run and then lose out at the last moments.

I get the frustration, but overall Farke has done well this season, but he still has his flaws which concern me.

Be class if a miracle happens tomoz. But failing that, I'll take a win and get the momentum going again if we are to be going into the playoffs, which is most likely.

Hoping for the best.

03 May 2024 23:13:10
What Whitey said. Victim of his diminishing forward planning. He complained (rightly) about fixture pile up and tiredness yet doesn't use the bench enough for rotation. Admittedly his bench not as good as first team but it's something, reasonably competitive and allows recovery of the rested in a fortnight. Playing same team disregarding the issue you identified smacks of frightened rabbit 🐰 in the headlights, not victim of success.

04 May 2024 01:54:25
Baz Die Jungs haben richtig hart gespielt.

04 May 2024 07:22:06
Der zwei dummkopf.

Before this season got underway and even during the start until the transfer window closed, the club was in complete turmoil with many players effectively wanting to leave due to the loan clauses in their contracts.
We had by the end of September Drawn 5, Lost 2 and Won 3 games, meanwhile Leicester and Ipswich were both ripping up the league and we were already about 10 points behind the leaders.

There were several of you blokes on here who were already predicting a mid table finish for this season, strangely enough 12th was it not Baz?

Yet, through his excellent and successful experience in the Championship, Farke managed to steady the ship and start us on an amazing winning streak, which the doubters love to ignore, breaking all time Leeds United records, even the Revie era.

By the end of March after being behind Leicester by no less than a massive 17 points by the end of December, remarkably we found ourselves at the top of the league by the end of March.

Now, if you numbskulls want to believe Farke doesn’t know what he’s doing with his selections or whatever brainless thing you concoct about his so called failures, then wake up and smell the coffee.

That’s why now some of you constant moaners, like Whiteman now want more, what is it exactly you want, mid table or promotion?
Of course because Farke has done so well considering our difficult start to the season you want more.

Is that not being a victim of his own success when unfortunately after such an amazing comeback, we just fell short of the autos and some are now berating Farke when at the start of the season they didn’t give him or the team anywhere near a chance of promotion.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

04 May 2024 08:19:15
Auf Farke vertrauen wir als Dritter

OP der Meister des Spins.

04 May 2024 08:55:04
Ah. It’s sweet. George and Baz, sitting in the trees, Baz says what he wants, and George just agrees….

04 May 2024 08:57:01
A tad passive aggressive Baz.

04 May 2024 09:18:40
This is an English football forum Baz, if you want to really test your google translated German on me, be my guest, I have to warn you though I am fluent in German and French.
I am no master of spin, just FACTS as you put it, unlike your cocktail ever changing predictions that follow the cause of our season, not to mention the constant dismantling and the degrading of your very own football team and coach.?!

Yet you predict us to win today, does that make you a closet optimist? or a WUM?

04 May 2024 09:48:13
Nope OP as I said in my post below facts are this season I have predicted Leeds United to WIN 90% of matches.

03 May 2024 13:55:29
If play offs is our destiny then we will be playing WBA or Hull.
Personally I think form goes out of the window in games like these, very much like a cup game and there’ll be a lot down to luck.

Our last game against Carlos Corberan’s team dealt us a defeat where had there been a competent ref we should of had a penalty and a red card for their player.
Ironically it was Rodon’s red card that kept the honours even at Hull, where perhaps we could have taken all three points.

All in the past now, it’s now down to the roll of the dice games.
Exciting but nerve wracking at the same time.

03 May 2024 15:11:02
Totally agree OP and I know it’s a kick in the teeth if we lose but the excitement and the adrenaline is incredible and I wouldn’t change that exciting feeling for anything, the buzz in the ground, the euphoria the day after, priceless! Bring it on 👍👍MOT.

03 May 2024 18:10:58
Absolutely fellas. Bring it on!

03 May 2024 21:04:12
Hey Baz, talk about conveniently forgetting information …. you forget, that Farke lost not only Siri, he lost Rodrigo (seasons top scorer) , Jack Harrison (our only “EPL quality player” according to you) and Wober (our “best defender” and ‘future Captain” according to you) and the Captain of the US team, plus 9 others. Gnonto also was on strike at the start of the season.

Comparing our team at the start of the season, with that of Burnley, Leicester and Southampton is utter folly.

03 May 2024 21:04:12

Posting it twice OP doesn't do anything for your posts relevance Ani

Farke has had a stronger team than all but arguably Leicester.

03 May 2024 23:11:16
I didn’t post twice Baz. Lots of posts are going up twice.

Farke may have a stronger team now, but he certainly didn’t inherit the strongest team by any measure. As usual detract away from points being made.

04 May 2024 01:24:31
" Lots of posts "? . as in just one other Ani

Look Ani we get it

you deeply regret your Ipswich prediction .

it's OK fella . life really does go on.

04 May 2024 01:52:40
Baz Prediction of the Millennium.

04 May 2024 07:16:46
Ok, Baz,

You claim to have forecasted our three defeats in December. No one around here remembers that, but let’s be honest, none of us have friends that think we have an outstanding memory to vindicate us, but we’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, however, we do remember, since I made my Ipswich prediction,

…that you said January was going to be pretty miserable …you were 100% wrong.
…. that unless we bought a LB, CAM and a striker, we would have no chance of promotion, you were 100% wrong.
…that this team has seriously underperformed, yet have been 20 points ahead of your (claimed amongst many ) 6th place prediction; you were 100% wrong.
…. recently, that Southampton would secure automatic promotion, you were wrong again.
…. that Everton would never get a points deduction. They got two; you were wrong.

As for me regretting predicting Ipswich’s demise, why? Do you actually think the drivel spouted spurred Ipswich on? Come on Baz, is that the level of your intellect? If I have a regret, it’s not appreciating the juvenile tosh it precipitated here, nothing more. Ipswich have continued to confound everyone, even you Baz. You now supposedly thought Ipswich would fall away in April (though for some reason didn’t share that thought at the time? ) despite them only dropping points once in March? Baffling?

Do you have any regrets about rubbishing our team alll season, being utterly disrespectful of others opinions, for your continued juvenile jibes? Any regrets for making all those (small sample above) very poor predictions?

04 May 2024 07:36:15
It wasn’t a prediction, Baz is wind up merchant who prefers other teams success than our own.

04 May 2024 08:20:32
Ani let’s not forget some other all time great predictions by Auntie Baz, the sale of KP to Newcastle and Leeds 5-0 thrashing of Preston which we lost.
The one I’m really waiting for is, quote "if we don’t finish in autos, there’s no way these chokers will win a play off"
Betting against your own team, how low can you go.?

Of course Baz will spell out that this is facts, I call it not supporting your team!

04 May 2024 08:29:24
100% wrong Ani? How? Are we promoted?

Up the Wendies OP .

04 May 2024 09:02:35
Ani: so good, they posted it twice! I liked it twice too!
Dougie’s earlier post came on twice too, as have many others. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to happen whenGeorge just agrees with Baz, or has a private little joke, or has coloured a picture.

04 May 2024 09:03:32
OP Spinner

1) KP would have suited barcodes better than Wet Spam i said at the time his move to Wet Spam would not work out.109% correct on that

2) Jeez OP do you ever get anything right?

My 5 nil thrashing prediction was in JANUARY . go check Leeds BEAT Preston they did NOT LOSE !

3) 90% of my predictions this season have been Leeds to win ( often by large scorelines )

So sorry that doesn't fit your deeply dubious erroneous narrative agenda OP Spinner fella lol 😀🤣

4) As for playoffs. Feel free to put a large bet on Leeds winning them go on OP.
