Agree 100% with George, PL is much more enjoyable with more teams actually competitive and possible league winners. ( Hence my earlier posts regarding the lower leagues) .

Without spurious permutations with cup winners etc the top 5 go to Europe - That is 25% of the teams, if not already in the top 25% we are pretty darned close as are a load of other teams - not knowing who will beat who week in week out makes for a much more entertaining year.

Now is all we need are all matches to kick off at 3pm Saturdays, no computers for instant updates and a return of the TELEPRINTER at 4;45. Now that was real excitement as a young un.

Use to love that teleprinter. Although you used to know if home team had won lost or drawn by the tone.
And always seem liked leeds finished after everybody else cause on of last results to come through.
In theory. Surely manu should always be last.

Man Utd would only be last result if they weren't already ahead aafterv90 mins.

The videprinter was awesome. Made Saturdays exciting. They should bring it back.

Could be way off so let me hear it if i am, but.

Keep this group fit, we don't need any january signings.

Keep this group fit, we have options all over the pitch.

Keep this group fit, we could be playing europe next year.

Play europe next year, we could be keeping bielsa, how could he refuse?

I feel confident Bielsa will stay with Leeds for at least 2 further seasons after this.

Nah samo we need options in January, by extension look at pool close season, no way would you have said they needed new faces, however since the season has started it's quiet clear they need just that .

It's inconceivable that we won't lose a few to serious injury, and just think what we would be like without paddybamayang!

I think there is a lot of benefit to bringing in one or two in Jan. Freshens it up and the players like it. Plus I think we need to add sensibly in all windows for at least the next 2-4 years if we are to be challenging the top 6 consistently by the end of the '5 year plan'

This peculiar the virus season 20/ 21 may well be a great opportunity for a few other teams outside of the so called top 6 to excel and finish above ( some of ) them.

Without crowds to spur them on it's feasible that some players and teams in the ' so called top 6 ' are finding it (slightly) harder to get motivated Liverpool and United for instance.

Watching the Man U vs Chelsea game it felt at times like a friendly. With a large crowd in attendance at Old Trafford it may well have been a different match and outcome

Leeds have a vociferous home and away support but at the moment they are super Bielsa motivated without crowds.

Couldn’t agree more . I felt at the beginning of the season that a lot of the established teams would lack motivation with no crowds, whereas we would be up for it big time as it’s our first season back and with MB bellowing at them from the side lines . Also a full ER has become a double edged sword in recent times . I think with the pressure of promotion off there would have been less tension in the crowd, but I can’t help feeling our newly found ability to make the most of our chances ( barring Wolves ) is due to no crowd pressure . This especially applies to Bam Bam . It’s like they always say about practising penalties in training . It doesn’t prepare players for the pressure of packed stadiums .

Perhaps one can tell Leeds United are doing well as there are far fewer things to debate.

Def a weird prem league soccer far. Results all over the place with us beating villa but villa best Leicester and Leicester beat arsenal and other results unusual too.
Nobody seems to have found their feet. No real pattern. I would be comfortable in saying we should stay up this year. Top 10 and above won't really be possible to predict until the new year.
A good start and hope it continues.

I think the only ones who have found their feet are Fulham and Sheffield Utd, they just can’t use them properly!

Hopefully those two will keep losing and be joined by Villa, Brighton, Burnley, West Brom and Man U, all propping up the league!

What's even weirder.
End of May, LUFC v WBA. We win grab Europe and they go down.
Maybe worth a few bob.

Aus Au contraire. It is more that many teams more than usual have found their feet. There's only 6 or 7 teams with no hope whatsoever of winning the PL. The remainder so easily could which includes us. My guess is we're probably 2 players short of doing so but the point is the gap between sides has narrowed now. Hence probably why the big clubs are making a run for the JP Morgan backed proposed European Premier League. They want to hold onto their perceived power for longer but time is short. What's happened is the available pool of top players has widened and become more accessible to most PL clubs (due in no small part to sustained television income) and the skill of managers has improved due to increased professionalism with names of the past such as Fergie and Wenger blazing the way. There are many competent managers now. Become a little like boxing now where "styles make fights" hence the results between Liverpool Leeds Villa Liverpool and Villa Leeds. Long may it continue. Great league now. Took 27 years for it to happen.
