Phil Hay basically saying tonight Casilla is staying, no new centre back or striker unless Roofe goes . What a joke!

RedhotCurrie

1.) 23 Jul 2019 01:24:20
Totally agree RHC. Everywhere you look on the net the majority of fans are crying out for 3 signings mainly CH, CF and a midfielder.
Surely the top brass at Leeds can see it too so what's going on? Takeover? Young guns good enough?
Surely something. Only time will tell.

2.) 23 Jul 2019 07:04:32
Radz maybe trying to do it on the cheap and never never again. Only two weeks of the window to go, so there will have to be a major shift in policy if we are going to make any permanent signings.

3.) 23 Jul 2019 07:30:26
It's no surprise, white was brought in to replace pontus. We got players in quickly and think it has always been the case we are now only going to replace people like Roofe or Phillips should they leave. Bielsa likes his small squad, it's a dangerous game given the fast pace we play and amount of injuries we seem to pick up. We can keep getting linked to various players but in truth we not going to buy. Yes we all can see we need strengthening but don't count on it happening. In my opinion we will struggle to finish higher than last season and I don't think Bielsa will stay the full season, but hope iam wrong.

4.) 23 Jul 2019 14:07:30
I can't see any more signings either. Like Mezzer says I had a sneaking suspicion when Pontus went that White was his replacement. after 16 games in the league below it is a massive, massive gamble although Bielsa really likes White by all accounts.

I think Bielsa will stay if we are doing well but if we are in the middle or bottom half of the table around Christmas I can certainly see him getting bored and leaving.

5.) 23 Jul 2019 14:12:37
RHC I don't believe Phil Hay on this occasion. Can see us making 2 more signings.

6.) 23 Jul 2019 14:37:57
Hope your right bro!

17 Jul 2019 23:37:15
So quote unquote 90% of our recruitment is done . This to me translates to if we can get in a quality CB for peanuts we might go for it but Bielsa is quite happy with the squad anyway, so we probably won't bother . So we will go into supposedly our best go at promotion in over a decade relying on a midget rookie in White at CB ( as Cooper can't cut it ) and a rookie at striker in Edmondson once Roofe goes and MB finally realises Bamford is a complete and utter waste of space .

People pointing the finger at Radz, by definition need to start pointing the finger at Bielsa as he supposedly set his terms for staying on . A lovely man and great football coach but a man with a track record of being a brides maid never the bride . A man too set in his ways to see after a season in the Championship what's required to get out . If he can't see what most fans can see then I'm sorry but I will not be satisfied with another season of wonderful but ultimately losing football .
#The buck stops with BIELSA.

RedhotCurrie

1.) 18 Jul 2019 02:26:24
Too true Mr Currie. I cannot believe how he can not see the blinding obvious, we have no class or depth in this positioned. Two new CB's are needed, but I suppose one at the very least. We are now weaker in defense than last season . God help this club, even a child could see this.

2.) 18 Jul 2019 10:49:17
RHC Good post. Yet again, thoughts mirror my own but don't believe we're done yet in the window.

Calimick We are weaker in defence but only by a touch in George opinion. Can all be different if we sign the right player in the time left.

3.) 18 Jul 2019 11:48:47
George - I only hope you're right, as an experienced and quality CB is so obviously needed unless Coops can step up another level on last year and also cuts out his brain-freeze moments, which seems rather unlikely. And even if that were to happen we should have experienced cover for injury and suspension.

12 Jul 2019 13:02:23
Talk of a Spurs bid for KP . I'd be gutted personally as whatever the price you don't get promoted by selling your better players . Silver lining Berm's credibility completely shot to tiny pieces!

RedhotCurrie

1.) 12 Jul 2019 13:37:59
Have always said KP is a very good player but i guess we will sell him eventually and maybe better to get a good price for him now. He has done well at DM but do not think he will improve in that role and not likely to get further upfield here which is where i believe he will play his best football and improve into a top class player.

2.) 12 Jul 2019 14:12:05
RHC "Silver" lining? Try vibranium embossed in gold, platinum and diamonds. Tattoo on the rear I mean icing on the cake would be an England cap.

3.) 12 Jul 2019 14:53:37
Lol. Funny George! 😂👍🏻.

4.) 12 Jul 2019 18:19:00
Spurs can pay 20 million for him and loan him back for the season!

28 Jun 2019 21:14:27
Social media buzzing with Kalvin to Villa rumours and bookies odds slashed to 1-5 on they are his next club . If this happens I will take flying lessons myself to pilot a plane over ER with a Radz out banner .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 28 Jun 2019 21:40:30
Have to agree RHC. As he became a bit off our rock
Last season. Unless we get £30m. Then ok. 🤣🤣⚽️⚽️👍.

2.) 28 Jun 2019 21:41:09
And our first signing could be an 18 year old from Carlisle! I have to say if Philips goes as well as Clarke, the powers that be had better have some quality signings lined up or a lot of the fanbase will be fuming.

3.) 28 Jun 2019 22:19:03
For once, I’m with you RHC, and I’ll gladly wing walk that plane before a para onto the pitch at ER. Don’t see it happening tho. The sale, I mean.

4.) 29 Jun 2019 00:59:04
Really hope your right Brighty!

5.) 29 Jun 2019 06:57:46
More media talk of a £25m deal despite KP wanting to stay . Now some might argue that’s a good price and it probably is . But this is so very wrong on a number of levels -
1. You don’t generally become successful by selling your best players . 2 . With its poor track record in the recruitment department , there is little likelihood that replacements will be as good . 3 . Why the need to sell JC with £25 m incoming?

6.) 29 Jun 2019 07:23:09
I bet Radz is rubbing his hands, just waiting for the offer from Villa to increase a bit.

7.) 29 Jun 2019 08:44:35
And berms sits quietly in the corner with his fingers crossed lol.

8.) 29 Jun 2019 08:46:18
14 million plus offer from Villa supposedly rejected by Leeds. Depends how much Villa are prepared to pay. That’s part of the problem with coming out with a value on a player like 30 million, people always think that means you are prepared to sell. I think KP is one of Bielsas non negotiables, JC wasn’t, and I think Foreshaw is another that he would let go. My gut says KP wants to stay more than JC.

9.) 29 Jun 2019 09:00:46
I’ve said it before. I’ve watched Kal since he was 10. He won’t want to leave and I will be gutted if he is forced to go. All he’s ever wanted to do is play for Leeds.

10.) 29 Jun 2019 09:25:38
Spanish think we can agree that KP is the litmus test on Radz’ ownership?

11.) 29 Jun 2019 10:58:24
RHC, the key will be how high the offer goes. We have supposedly said 30 million, if it gets close to that.! There are people on here who would sell for around that figure or less, so why not Radz? Bermo would sell now at 14, I imagine, and throw in a free lifetime pass to all his plays and pantos!

At the moment I don’t think Radz woulld do something that what would make Bielsa walk. But if they offered 30 million and Bielsa know a replacement that would work, who knows! I agree with Brighty, KP wants to take Leeds to the premiership and I think he appreciates how he has grown with Bielsa. It’s another part of the one year plan, if we don’t go up this year and Bielsa goes and he still has the chance to go to a premier side, it might be a different story!

12.) 29 Jun 2019 11:34:05
Bielsa preferred Forshaw to KP until he was injured didn't he.
Take 20 mill if offered and play Shack there anyway. Will be twice as good as KP in that role!

13.) 29 Jun 2019 12:53:53
Not correct Canada . Forshaw injured beginning season and KP first choice .

14.) 29 Jun 2019 18:08:44
KP out, Iturraspe in?

15.) 29 Jun 2019 19:08:04
I believe Forshaw was always in the main role until injured pre-season.
Either way KP is good but not great. Too slow and poor at timing tackles. Won't make it in PL. 20 million would be well worth taking.

28 Jun 2019 06:52:05
Wow this one should really test the " in Bielsa we blindly trust " brigade . Talk of us blowing most of the JC money on a permanent deal for Harrison . Utter utter madness .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 28 Jun 2019 08:40:31
Sounds unlikely - where have you seen anything to suggest that. All reports to date say it will be another loan deal - perhaps with the option to buy next summer.

2.) 28 Jun 2019 10:33:27
I've just read a report that we are signing him for £7m
I hope it is a permenant deal but think £5m is more realistic.

3.) 28 Jun 2019 10:48:31
Daily Star says perm for £7m . Hopefully wide of the mark! I understand a loan on sensible terms but not perm .

4.) 28 Jun 2019 10:59:03
Man City want £20 million so it’s probably lazy journalism.

5.) 28 Jun 2019 12:43:24
In Bielsa we trust, with eyes wide open!

6.) 28 Jun 2019 14:15:11
IBWBT!

7.) 28 Jun 2019 14:55:34
The daily star you say RHC well it must be true then lol.

8.) 28 Jun 2019 17:09:41
RHC

I hope you are wrong about Harrison at £7m on a permanent deal. I am with you on the idea that Harrison isn't £7m if Clarke is a benchmark of £10m

I wouldn't be averse to signing him on a loan-to-buy for £7m as we would only have to shell out the fee if he did really well and/ or we got promoted. In which case he would be an acceptable squad player in the Premier League

I have the same feeling about Costa. £12m on a loan-to-buy would mean we shell out the money if he shows himself to be a world beater and/ or we get promoted

I would even try the same deal with Newcastle for Gayle. Loan-to-buy at £20m if we have to. We only have to actually pay these fees if we make it to the Promised Land. And if we do then the above transfer fees are acceptably sized for that level

Even if it took the whole of Jack Clarke's transfer fee to broker the 3 deals I personally say it's worth it. It shows intent. It shows we have added MORE quality to an already very good squad. And it gives our very good U23s another year yo improve. If Harrison, Costa and Gayle had to be sent back at the end of season, possibly Stevens, Bogusz and Edmondson would be ready to step up.

9.) 28 Jun 2019 17:56:56
Not happening. Simple.

10.) 28 Jun 2019 18:05:43
Axe the three on loan to buys would be great . I’m a firm believer that if you borrow a player you must try to have an option to buy included otherwise it’s so short termist .

11.) 28 Jun 2019 18:15:27
Bright, your more than probably right, but I just want us bringing in better than what we already have.

Quality players not only upgrade the quality of the 1st XI, but they also work as benchmarks for our permanent guys to aspire to. Our youngsters see how hard you have to work to get to their level. In some cases those quality players become mentors to the younger players. Show them how to be a 'professional' footballer

I remember how Strachan up'd the work ethics of the guys already at Elland Road.

12.) 28 Jun 2019 20:24:18
RHC - you lost me at Daily Star - that bastion of quality football journalism.

13.) 28 Jun 2019 20:54:15
Totally agree Axe!

Guys you do realise if the Corona virus takes hold in the U. K. its a given they will suspend all footie matches amongst other large public gatherings for possibly a protracted period of time . So what then happens to the promotion issue? Will they just restart the season in the Summer or just scrub it and start a new season in the Summer? In which case who if anyone gets promoted? It could only happen to Leeds assuming the Bamford virus which has already spread to the likes of Costa and Harrison ( even Pablo has shown mild symptoms lately ) doesn't get us first!

RedhotCurrie

1.) 28 Feb 2020 15:41:23
no one can be sure what actions the FA will decide upon following an outbreak of the caronvo virus but we can all be sure of this. leeds will be deducted points because of it.

2.) 28 Feb 2020 20:14:42
RHC Talk has already begun of Bin Dippers like missing out on a first PL crown 👑 due to the risks of spreading.

29 Jan 2020 07:23:02
This is by far and away one of the weakest championships I can remember . With our current points in any normal season we would be in a high play off position not automatic . We are very lucky the other top teams are very mediocre this year . Forest look the main threat now and all they really represent is a boring keep it tight, counter attacking team .

However, this Leeds team still inspire no confidence in me whatsoever, that we will do it this year . Bielsa has us playing pretty football but he has failed to deal with our weaknesses since he first joined . We can't defend set pieces to save our lives and our own corners and free kicks are such a joke that they actually represent an opportunity for the opposition to counter attack us .

Bielsa has not adapted or addressed these issues which are far worse since Pontus left . He has also put far too much faith in the posh boy . Selling Roofe and going into such an important season relying on a striker who needs about eight chances to score one goal is just plain foolish . These weaknesses have exposed the brittle level of confidence players like Cooper have such that our defence is now at sixes and sevens .

They made Jed Wallace look like Ronaldo last night and Milwall cut us open far too easily on a number of occasions . In my view games like Brum and last night merely paper over the cracks exposed since the Cardiff fiasco . I hope Big Kev can quickly integrate into the team and be able to lead the line and finish the numerous chances we create . But the weakness at the back dealing with corners, free kicks and crosses also needs addressing and he has already said we won't be signing anyone else .

He's had 18 months to fix it on the training ground and has failed so I don't see that changing . Such a shame as it puts so much pressure on the team to chase games and undermines confidence . So where does that leave us? Well it leaves me hoping for the best but expecting the worse .

We could just as easily finish in the top two, play offs or even just outside at this point . I think it all turns on Big Kev . If he can finish the chances and gets enough game time, we could still do this . But we will have to do it the hard way like last night as we will continue to leak cheap goals .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 29 Jan 2020 08:09:23
And a Merry Christmas to you, Grinch!
By the way Norwich were second after 29 games with 1 less point than we have now, last season.

2.) 29 Jan 2020 08:42:17
West Brom will keep falling
Forest play keep ball. Against us? I don’t think so.
Fulham hot and cold.
Brentford couldn’t beat Forest at home.
So. What we have and what we are doing is enough. Nervey but should be enough.
Nobody else coming through now.

3.) 29 Jan 2020 09:03:59
You can only win the league that you’re in surely?
Plus, I don’t think that it’s average, I think all the teams have improved, so it’s simply more competitive. And in that context, we are top. We can’t do more than that.
Plus, Jed Wallace IS a good player.

4.) 29 Jan 2020 09:04:02
RHC so what you are saying is sack Bielsa and get a manager like George Grahem who is more defensively minded.
Did you in some way take any joy from last night? I was frustrated like most of us, but that game will be talked about for years, the emotion and passion from the fans and players was incredible!

As for Bamford he has 12 goals and will probably get 20, yes he misses a few, but if you asked for a striker at the start of the season you would want 20 goals.
Maybe the others went chipping in, did you think of that! No mention of Klich last night, even Razor Ruddock would have scored that.

Why don't you take some positives, top of league, playing pretty football and we have just signed a 20 mill striker. you must be a right bundle to have a beer with😜.

5.) 29 Jan 2020 09:23:10
Bang right Dougie. Partic re Bam. He will get 20 this season, and while people will say he should have 60, it’s his total game that is so vital. I saw a passage of play last night where he single handedly pinned their CB’s and GK in their own def third with such energy and intensity. I’m surprised he managed to even walk off the pitch last night!

6.) 29 Jan 2020 09:45:24
Love him or hate him, Bielsa has Leeds playing the best football in nigh on 20 years, if we can improve certain positions, then I feel we will hold our own in the prem upon promo,

7.) 29 Jan 2020 09:57:11
Interesting point Danum.
Nice one Chris!

8.) 29 Jan 2020 10:31:02
Guys easy to be positive after a great come back like last night . Much harder to say it like it is . I deliberately stayed quiet after our recent defeats because they hurt like hell and of course I was happy with the result last night and passion to come back . But let’s face it if your lives depended on it would you be confident with Bam through one on one with the keeper or our defence keeping out a corner to the far post?

9.) 29 Jan 2020 11:07:57
My comment is based entirely on what we are seeing on the field, Leeds now play football . Let hoofball be someone else's domain, and for me the architect of this is Marcelo, Not saying he's perfect but I know for a fact I certainly not perfect.

The joy last night was incredible.

23 Jan 2020 10:03:53
Predictions for the remainder of the season guys? In my view we will limp in around seventh or eighth and Bielsa will no longer be here by season's end .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 23 Jan 2020 11:54:46
Top 10 finish for me.

2.) 23 Jan 2020 12:53:24
Fatigue for me is the biggest problem. We have 18 games left. 87 to 90 points is a realistic target for a team in this position. One who has all the credentials.
Who goes up will all come down to the last few games, so you need to be in the mix. Two decent players in the next week and the players allowed to rest up more between games and its still on.

Have the players got the bottle or will a repeat of last season be the easier option for them to take. These types of bad habits are hard to shake.

3.) 23 Jan 2020 12:58:08
Top 2 for me, we are by far the best footballing side in the league and with a decent striker we will be fine.
The pessimism from supporters has an effect, you only have to work with someone that is negative to know how that effects others.
So what I am trying to say. We are 2nd, we can't win all the time, it is frustrating i know, but you would pay to go on a flat roller coaster would you! 😉😉😉.

4.) 23 Jan 2020 13:05:40
Top 1 for me.

5.) 23 Jan 2020 13:36:09
Promotion, if we sign a couple or three this window. We NEED a back up striker, or we’re stuffed.

6.) 23 Jan 2020 17:03:05
Championies championies championies championies.

7.) 23 Jan 2020 17:04:54
£50 says we won't win the league Cork, payable through PayPal end of season? Come on what you say?

8.) 23 Jan 2020 17:10:45
Depends on whether we bring anyone in or not. At the moment top two as that is where we are and teams chasing us have not been very consistent. Brom as well not showing much of late. Could be us and Fulham or us and Brom as long as its us. A little winning run and it all turns on its head. that's why we have to start winning.

9.) 23 Jan 2020 19:22:43
I do think we can turn this around but a couple of new faces, one being a decent striker would make a world of difference.

10.) 23 Jan 2020 20:47:58
Top 2 but only if we invest in a quality striker, if not and just bamford, won’t score enough and playoff position.

11.) 23 Jan 2020 22:14:04
With quality signings including a striker possible top 2

. but could still bottle it even then it finish 3rd or 4th

No striker signing then 7th.

12.) 23 Jan 2020 22:28:01
What kind of fan bets against his own team? £50? You are having a laugh mate. wouldn't bother having a wager with you mate as youd probably pay in installments!

10 Jan 2020 17:45:26
IAN POVEDA LOOKS QUALITY AND A FIND!

RedhotCurrie

1.) 10 Jan 2020 18:09:40
A find? He’s had about 5 clubs so he can’t be that hard to find lol.

2.) 10 Jan 2020 20:07:37
Worth 50 million who on hell put that price on him, if he was that good we wouldn’t be look at him.

3.) 10 Jan 2020 20:45:26
Not heard of him before today tbh! 🤔.

4.) 10 Jan 2020 20:58:14
I have never heard of him neither 1 senior app for. city. in the 9-0 V Burton last season .

5.) 11 Jan 2020 02:50:52
Going all out again to secure that promotion!

6.) 11 Jan 2020 05:58:19
Well we hadn’t heard of Harrison either so. if MB wants him that’ll do me

He’ll have watched every game the lad has played since he was 11

They also saw ben White and some bloke called James. Not sure what happened to that last one though. Seemed to disappear.

7.) 11 Jan 2020 10:49:44
Just watched him on you tube. He looks like a cross between Messi and Aguero, so he might be, not bad! 👍😂.

8.) 11 Jan 2020 13:13:09
Heard he is quite talented and Bubs type of player but let's step back a bit. Doubt if Citeh would be selling if he was the next Roanaldo or Messi. Worth a punt to see what Bubs can turn him into.

09 Jan 2020 21:34:14
Please not David "Journeyman" McGoldrick!

RedhotCurrie

1.) 09 Jan 2020 22:35:42
Your f-ing joking me! Please don't say this is even a strong rumour! .

2.) 09 Jan 2020 23:58:07
Wouldnt be the worst signing as Bamford backup. Was Sheff Utd player of the season last and scored nigh on 20 goals i believe.

3.) 10 Jan 2020 03:24:05
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

4.) 10 Jan 2020 08:26:29
Supposedly Brom want to beat us to him LOL!

5.) 10 Jan 2020 08:54:27
Sadly I can almost believe we might be interested in him, but West Brom? - that bit must be agent talk.
If the Baggies did manage to get hold of Gayle, which seems far more likely, would anyone be disappointed if we had a go at getting Zahore? - already not getting much game time and with better shot accuracy and conversion than Bambam - and did well for Baadiff in the Championship. With Bilic's recently professed admiration for Bielsa, he might not be averse to giving Leeds a bit of help, with the aim that we both go up automatically.

6.) 10 Jan 2020 09:09:15
Zohore not for me!

7.) 10 Jan 2020 09:54:13
Obviously far rather Che Adams, but if that doesn't work out?

8.) 10 Jan 2020 09:55:52
I'd prefer him to McGoldrick anyway.

9.) 10 Jan 2020 10:33:09
This what you get when you don’t plan ahead, you get left with old tea bags at the bottom, then pick up anything to try and please the Leeds fans your doing something, Radz it don’t work mate. wise up.

10.) 10 Jan 2020 10:52:05
i agree i think we could do a lot worse. as said sheff utd player of the season last year and 20 goals. not bad on paper.

11.) 10 Jan 2020 18:15:01
Leeds won’t sign anyone just to please the fans whiteman I can guarantee that. Statement from buns. No one will be signed unless they are better than what we already have and only players that will improve our team will be considered.

Hess the writing is already well and truly on the wall and one result will not change it . This January window is looking like turning out like many others unless the three amigos pull their fingers out sharpish . But the rumoured structuring of the Bowen deal with the major part of the outlay contingent on promotion just smacks that they have learnt zilch from the DJ fiasco . They are either naive or arrogant or probably a bit of both . Latest updates suggest they are still not giving up on Adams and Gray but again that also appears like lessons have not been learnt . Supposedly there’s a foreign guy who MB rates and Sharp as the two back up options .

I’m with my long lost twin Georgie . Ever hopeful but with the inability to take our chances by Bam and others far from confident . This team is more than capable of screwing it up from here . 🤞.

Nice post Georgie . I’ve not been posting much lately due to losing my will to live with the ineptitude of it all .

Some valid points made above by George and others . But in answer to the original post we haven’t moved forward in the last twelve months . If anything we’ve moved backwards . The man responsible is Bielsa . He runs the training everyday, has a massive say in recruitment and retention and picks the team . And unless he dramatically changes his outlook no we won’t be going up this season .

One man chiefly to blame for all that’s good and all that’s bad with Leeds United and he’s the guy sitting on the bucket . Don’t go blaming others as he certainly wouldn’t .
