Didn't watch the match but read a couple of reports and this page.
Would've taken it before 12.00.
As always, I'm looking on the positive side, Norwich will have to come to ours and try to score. Unlike Blackburn and Sunderland who put 10 men behind the ball. We seem to be able to cope better when teams come to play, struggle when teams play for the draw and attack on the counter.

ILK

David Wagner will play for penalties. of which they would win

His previous Huddersfield team won playoffs without scoring a fricking goal.

12 May 2024 19:16:23
How do you know Norwich would win on penalties Baz?, with that question how did your 2-0 Norwich win prediction go Baz? Please tell us all, is there any part of Leeds United you have faith with? We are beat before we even get on the pitch with you, It beggers belief it really does šŸ¤·šŸ¤·šŸ¤·šŸ¤·.

12 May 2024 20:11:51
Woody I stated that 2 nil prediction was on DF doing his usual selection playing JP, CS GR and WG. zero press . wide open midfield

Thankfully he listened to Baz and played all 3 of IG AG and GM in more solid mf dropping Piroe to bench

Wise decision šŸ‘Œ.

12 May 2024 20:53:38
I will give you that one Baz and very good on the positivity šŸ‘šŸ‘.

12 May 2024 16:11:36
Anyone else concerned about Mes, I'm on eggshells every time he has the ball, his distribution is poor and leaves it right to last minute to kick after doing back and forth flicks. I won't be concerned if we sell after all this is over.

Agree6 Disagree0

12 May 2024 16:48:47
Very much so.

12 May 2024 17:02:26
3 seasons and counting from my perspective

Not called " Gashlier" without reason.

12 May 2024 17:11:05
To be fair, the first ā€œmistakeā€ was Gruev calling for the ball and then not controlling it. Canā€™t believe the commentary; watch the replay and you can see Gruev beckoning for the ball, which Mez obliges. That unsettled him imo.

12 May 2024 17:35:06
Agree with that point Ani, which raises another question; what has happened to Illia? He isnā€™t the same player that was such a revelation when he broke into the team. Much more negative in his play than he was before. Has he been told to play that way, or is he being overly cautious? Dunno the answer myself, but I much preferred him with his head up and looking forwards to release the offensive players.

12 May 2024 18:21:48
Thing is requesting the ball doesn't mean you should pass it, Mes needs to grow a pair and realise that wasn't the option.
This is just a singular event we are discussing here, it's more the constant late like away after using his flicky feet, distribute the ball quicker, getting the team fwd is the focus.
Don't get me wrong he is young, but anyone who watches him can see his flaws, doesn't catch, punches unnecessarily, flicky feet right up until the opposition is mowing him down, I just find him frustrating.

12 May 2024 18:25:59
I think itā€™s the form of CS and Rutter Bright. You can see the whole middle struggling to find someone to past forward too. CS when he gets it, just comes back now ( now everyone has worked out his cutbacks) . Bamford makes space, which others just canā€™t seem to. We were more aggressive when we had players playing out of position; now everyone is in position, we seem so lethargic / toothless.

I just hope we can scrape by.

12 May 2024 18:52:15
Bamford a massive loss. Norwich two CBs were literally marking nobody today.
Thereā€™s a big clamour for Joseph to start and despite only seeing him play a few times he makes the runs to make space for others, is strong on ball and apparently a good finisher. James would be another option up front imo. His finishing can be erratic but at least heā€™s a handful for defenders something which Rutter is not last few months.

12 May 2024 19:12:27
Too true Bright about Gruev, his performances recently have been a concern.
Also Meslier is the normal go to player to blame if we donā€™t win, I donā€™t think he did too much wrong throughout the match, he had a clean sheet but wasnā€™t really tested, Iā€™m more concerned about other players who still look under par and they would be Rutter and Cy.
There was only one player in my mind in the first half who showed some sort of a spark and that was Willy.

Ref got that decision completely wrong, again! Possibly not a pen but 100% a foul. The offside where we scored was dubious also.

To win this game at Elland rd we will need Rutter and Summerville transforming their game a little bit, especially Rutter, as he is our creativity with his strength and agility, he has to dig deeper.

As with the other game with Brom and Southampton, neither team in this first game wants to give an advantage and nil nilā€™s are not a big surprise considering what is at stake.
I just hope at our place with the fans we give that bit extra to get that goal and it will be only be one goal if itā€™s decided in open play I feel.
Penalty shootout must not be an option but could be a big possibility in this kind of game.

Our defending was better than recent and Archie for such a young player looked the most assured in his role today, such a talent that kid.

12 May 2024 19:19:36
Corky, I think MJ or Piroe, if he was on at the time, would have got to that cross that Georginio totally aired and missed right in front of goal, nailed on for Bam Bam that one!

12 May 2024 20:14:26
That would have been missed by Bamford . it was a right foot effort. and Bamford has no right foot.

12 May 2024 14:17:02
I think Norwich were there for the taking in the second half . It was very cagey as you'd expect but we really have lost our spark and cutting edge and confidence.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2024 14:45:47
Yep yep.

12 May 2024 15:35:33
Agree re the spark, but, it was an improvement on recent performances, and we looked much more solid, particularly against one of the best set piece sides in the division. Wouldā€™ve been happier had we nicked a goal, as the pressure will be huge at home, but we are still very much in with a shout. Kamara MOTM for me today in a much stronger performance from him, more reminiscent of his earlier season form.

12 May 2024 16:01:44
Given the way we have been playing, the outcome was ok; on the whole we did the job Farke obviously played for. Our biggest problem is the form / state of Rutter and Summerville. It was like we were playing with 9 men for most of the game. Both were feeling sorry for themselves. There was a slight improvement when James and Anthony came on.

Norwich gave it a go for about 10 minutes and then very poor.

Like most, would have taken it at the start, but somewhat frustrated we didnā€™t take the opportunity. Not sure what can be done about Summerville; itā€™s not as if Farke would be given any credence/ credit for dropping him.

I would start James next week.

12 May 2024 16:49:46
Iā€™d say it was a decent result
And certainly
I felt we looked quite comfortable (apart from a few moments from Meslier )
I think we can get it final.

12 May 2024 16:57:08
I think Jimmy has left the building, but likely to show up if we get to Wembley for a showroom performance.

12 May 2024 17:02:48
Indeed Dougie.

13 May 2024 05:11:09
Agree about Kamara, Bright.

Just watched the "highlights" to refresh my memory, but Cry did have a de ent rubbish in goal and create 2 chances, whilst Rutter had a role in that disallowed goal (albeit he was flagged for offside) and found himself in a good position to score, which he fluffed.

Considering the minimal chances created due to our more reserved tactics, I don't thibk that the end of the world. I'd assume more attacking freedom will be granted for Thursday which hopefully coincides with an upturn in both their ability to impact the tram going forward.

But granted, nothing is a given so wpuld not be suprised to see some rotation, although I'd personally be reluctant as they are both capable of producing something out of nothing when on form.

13 May 2024 13:27:06
I tend to agree with all of that Dill.
Quite simply though, If we donā€™t get a result on Thurs, no matter what Farke does, he will be targeted by a selection of fans and labelled a failure. He is pretty much in a no win situation, unless we absolutely thrash them.

12 May 2024 13:57:47
THAT WAS TOTAL GARBAGE! Southampton and Brom are licking their lips looking at that trash.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2024 14:20:00
Garbage from an entertainment point of view but somewhat predictable from two teams not in form playing for safety.
Both teams showed zero bravery and the outcome will be decided more than likely with a penalty shootout at Elland rd, unless there is one big error that allows someone to score a goal.
What did you seriously expect?

12 May 2024 14:25:53
You tell em šŸ‘ Hooksie.

12 May 2024 14:36:25
Yes the game was garbage but DF set out his game plan from the kick off, first and foremost he didnā€™t want to concede so that was achieved, then it was a case of stopping them playing their football, again this was achieved. Unfortunately Cry and Georginio hadnā€™t anything to offer as both were bad which made this match garbage for the watching fans, but the back four were great, midfield ok and attack was not good, totally missing Bam, I thought DF made a mistake not using MJ. Apart from that we had a good penalty shout turned down and a clean sheet as well. Meslier was bad his distribution was terrible. So couple of issues to sort out and bring on Thursday as Wembley beckons šŸ‘šŸ‘.

12 May 2024 15:27:06
OP So Canaries through to Wembley then. Meslier has never saved a PK for Leeds.

12 May 2024 15:39:10
You speak of " zero bravery " OP.

That most certainly applies to DF in players up front selection and substitutions timings.

Whilst I applaud his wise strengthening of midfield personnel numbers today

For the home match DF needs to be " brave " and less arrogant/ stubborn to drop Rutter and Summerville for MJ and DJ ( if fit enough to start or Antony )

Gnonto DJ and MJ start we have a good chance to win on Thursday.

12 May 2024 15:40:23
Tentative, yes. Garbage? Maybe a bit OTT.
A big tactical shift from Farke which paid off in the main. Woody is right in that BamBam is a big miss. Gio just not at the races at the moment, and sadly nor was Cree, so a creative spark was lacking. We did manage to show up a few times with flowing play, but nowt like we saw at the turn of the calendar year.
Itā€™ll be an atmosphere like some of the lads have never experienced at home on Thurs. The question is how they respond to it.

12 May 2024 15:48:48
Woody mate DF setting out his game the same thing as before did work and not playing MJ what the hell is going on we need to be on our game ER otherwise itā€™s where it will end my friend.

12 May 2024 16:10:23
We usualÄŗy play better when Bamford plays

BUT .

Bamford is a huge choker on pressure games hence his bottling " knee bruise " feeble excuse to miss final games of -season for 3rd year in a row

In which case with that mentality better for team he off pitch.

12 May 2024 16:12:42
George is āœ…ļø correct IF it goes to pens Leeds are forked . Mes in goal. ugh.

12 May 2024 17:38:00
Darlow equally guff on Penos tho, so making a sub not an option either.
Iā€™ll probably cark it if it goes to that conclusion anyway, so thatā€™s a bonus for some!

12 May 2024 17:47:43
Agree re Darlow even worse

Leeds normally have very good gks . throughout the decades. but 2017 to 2024 been off it.

Needs sorting.

12 May 2024 13:54:12
Not that it matters much end of season but I still not got the live button ed?

{Ed033's Note - Really, are you trying to see the Live Chat link with your Third Eye? How about opening your eyes instead and look somewhere near the grey rectangle drop down menu box. Or failing that look near or under the search box?

Aus trying looking šŸ‘€ at screen right way šŸ¤§ šŸ˜” up lol.

12 May 2024 14:48:17
If I canā€™t see it. Even though Iā€™m old. Itā€™s prob a technical hitch. Trust me. It ainā€™t ****ing there.
You got it melbs?

{Ed033's Note - Correct Baz, we all need to be on the same [FE] plane of existence. Some people think that in Australia, clouds exist beneath people and with the rain and waterfalls, the water, falls upwards. :)

Aus let's be level headed and tell me what you see on this page near the top of the screen under the search box, between where it says "Links to our Talk Sites" and "In order to view all of today's banter"?

12 May 2024 16:06:09
Ed033 lol šŸ˜† šŸ˜‚ šŸ¤£ šŸ˜….

Or as those Antipodeans would say " fair dinkum sport"

12 May 2024 16:08:42
Take a screen shot Ed and post it.

{Ed033's Note - Good idea.

12 May 2024 17:38:48
I admit that I went to the top of the page to double check it! šŸ¤£šŸ˜³.

12 May 2024 17:57:05
Eureka,

But Ed, you may still need navigation arrows and flashing lights and sirens on ' Leeds United Live Chat ' to help Aus ā˜ŗ.

{Ed033's Note - Yeah good idea something like this :)

Ed033 brilliant šŸ‘ šŸ‘Œ šŸ‘ šŸ˜†.

{Ed033's Note - Thanks.

12 May 2024 13:06:35
Let's be honest. Who actually believes we won't bottle it? If not against Norwich then certainly the final! Sorry. Not being pessimistic just going on past performance when it counts.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2024 14:04:09
Iā€™m more encouraged after the second half, we controlled it well and didnā€™t look like conceding again (unless Messlier tries to play football! ) .
I hope we are more attack focussed on Thursday because we didnā€™t look like we could score until Anthony, Piroe and DJ came on.
Hopefully Sargent and Duffy šŸŗ šŸš— have serious injuries that keep them out for a good while.

12 May 2024 15:41:11
Good summary MG! Totally agree.

12 May 2024 12:55:31
Disappointing first half no outlet up front, rutter isn't a striker would joseph be any worse or even piroe, surely were not playing for a draw. complete leeds hatefest on sky sports so biased in Norwichs favour.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 May 2024 12:58:25
The refs bias towards Gnonto is glaringly obvious!

12 May 2024 13:04:53
Hopefully the ref will see that play back of that potential penalty and realize heā€™s made a huge mistake.

12 May 2024 13:57:03
The ref gave a free kick every time any player fell over, not a great performance from the ref. The one he didnā€™t give was a penalty!
We didnā€™t lose and second half much better and controlled it well.

12 May 2024 15:42:05
Ref bottled somat that was right infront of him, as it was so early in the game! Wazz poor.

12 May 2024 12:50:32
Norwich are useless. If we can't beat this dross we up the creek šŸ˜•.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2024 13:58:02
I wouldnā€™t say they are useless Aus, they played good attacking football in the first half, we controlled the second.

12 May 2024 14:49:48
Iā€™m afraid I couldnā€™t watch the game today, so relying on all your opinions to get a jist of what the game was like. But I heard Jon newsome saying it was a stonewall penalty for us. If someone can just mark my card, why was Rutter deployed as the main striker in todayā€™s game? although piroe hasnā€™t been great recently, he did score in the previous match against Southampton, and Rutter has been playing the deeper role a good part of the season. How was the midfield today? I hope kamara and Gruev were driving forward and trying some long range shots? And Summerville was playing with a smile on his face and rallying and encouraging his teammates?

12 May 2024 17:40:40
As long as you see Thursday, youā€™ll be pretty much fully up to date C&J!
i. e. not much missed really as definitely not a classic.

12 May 2024 12:50:22
Rutter not a striker. Not sure exactly what he is.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 May 2024 13:25:43
Not a lot since the International Break.

12 May 2024 16:19:16
I've always thought he would play best as an inverted winger/ inside forward, playing inside the lines from the right. Would work well with full back who likes to get up the pitch.

13 May 2024 07:50:47
I agree with that Dill in principle. I do still think that he can play the #10 role, but just not at the moment while his fitness / confidence is under question. He still has a fantastic future, thatā€™s for sure. Skilful, reads the game, wants to do better, and a vibrant character.

12 May 2024 12:50:00
We are up against it with this ref. And Gnonto is losing his head again as a result.
