Interesting comment by De Paul.
Maybe he is keen after all, now can we get a deal done?

The vast majority of players and agents are going to do everything they can to generate interest from a range of clubs with a range of deals. Players might dream of playing for one club but end up playing for another and doing very well. I think De Paul is still a strong possibility for us.

Word is he has agreed terms now with Leeds just the clubs to settle. on a fee now, so. who knows it could indeed be close.

I think leeds will leave it for a week.
He has signalled his intent with the tweets.
He has already been left out of 2 pre season.
Think Udinese got to let him go now tbh.

The RDP saga has been as long and tedious as DJ one ; I still very much doubt Leeds will sign him.

Be good of transfer window was closing next Monday with all deals having to be complete by then so that these protracted posturing transfer sagas would thankfully be ended one way or another . the window is far far, far too long.

Suspect as with White all these other clubs apparent interest is the figment of agents guise . Yes or no to us is now needed.

Yeah. 2 week window would be frenetic and so interesting.

Sick of this De Paul rumour now, What are the true facts and what is just BS. Either Bielsa wants him or not?, Radzs wants him?, He either wants to come to Leeds or he doesnt? Terms have been agreed with the player? . Somewhere in there maybe some truth. Latest is Leeds (Radzs) not willing to pay the asking price. Either the player is worth it and we want him, then pay the money or MOVE ON!

Maybe someone can post the under 23s team. Just wondering how they can lose 4-0 after doing so well lost year.

No Corberan. I like that guy. Earned my respect when he stared down the Villa bench. I wouldn't have let him leave. Family is family.

Bunch of new faces . Will take time to gel . Plus many of the good ones with first team . Davis, Shack, Poveda, Casey, Cresswell etc.

Firstly, it’s a different league which we have moved to because of the regrading of the academy. Remember over the last two years when we were playing premier league under 23 sides in the cup, it was a different class. I that’s why we have brought in new faces at a different level.

Secondly, so far this year all focus has been on supporting the first team and with no Under 23 coach there hasn’t been the focus.

Finally, new players.

The good news from last night is that the Wigan lad although he missed a penalty is supposed to look a class apart.

I think it is important we get another centre half before the transfer window closes. Think John Stones would be a great fit but doubt we could afford him. Would also love us to try get James Milner from Liverpool as he would be great in our midfield along side KP. Need to stop wasting time chasing players from abroad that not going to come. This season we need to cement our place in this division and build on that the following seasons. Also let's not too carried away with the Liverpool result, we got some plaudits but need to move on and take points from Fulham.

Excellent post Mezzer

Leeds Orta, Radz definitely need to stop wasting time on players that aren't interested in joining Leeds

another CB is an absolute must!

A good (No 2) goalie instead of Kiko very desirable but doubt Orta will do so as it would be an admission that he forked up signing Kiko

Still need more options up front CAM etc

By the way Milner on £120,000 a week up till 2022., so no chance with him coming.

Didn't know that Bazooka, can't blame Milner being willing to spend time sitting on Liverpool's bench then.
Would Be nice to see him end his football playing days with us, but I guess 2 years time be too late.

I’m sure no one wants to waste time on people who don’t want to come to the club, but I suspect that player negotiations aren’t quite as simple as that. I’ve sometimes applied for three jobs at the same time but usually I have preferences . You have to go through the processes, see what you get offered and perhaps keep one warm just in case you don’t get your number one choice! Doesn’t mean you don’t want all the jobs more than the one you got. Throwinto that the machinations of the agents and I suspect very few possible transfers tell you they don’t want to come until they have signed with someone else.

Milner didn't have to sign that contract. I'm sure he was more than torn on Saturday as we kept equalizing. Then again won't lie. I'd sign up for £120k a week.

After watching Spurs v Everton, two mediocre teams sending me to sleep . Nothing to fear there guys and they will both probably be top half . But Jose has managed to create a top five as Spurs are woeful with no passion or intensity regardless of it being the first game . Further thoughts on Saturday . I'm thinking against the top 5, unless we can get in some one like De Paul at ten who also has a love for the defensive side of the game , that Pablo or Roberts are luxuries we can't afford as when we don't have the ball, they don't get stuck in . This puts too much pressure on Klich and KP and led to our midfield being too easily by passed and our defense exposed to runners . So may be we move Klich to ten and draft in Shackleton in these games where we will have less of the ball?

14 Sep 2020 05:48:43
RHC Klich is not a 10, but a very good number 8. You're wrong to dismiss Roberts who will probably improve and we were playing against the champions. We will fare better against lesser sides.

Tyler is a good player and still learning

Pablo has been magnificent. He earned enough respect surely not to be written off after one PM game

Leave decisions to MB and enjoy the ride

By this look of it the boss sees baby shacks as a player than can fill any midfield position and FB but more often number 8

Trust the process.

I like Roberts a lot and love Pablo . My point is in certain games against the very top teams when we are not in possession, they offer very little . So there is an argument for stiffening the midfield by adding Shackleton alongside Klich and Phillips in those games .

Rhc, . very premature. calling spuds a mediocre team, that's just down to Maureen he will be gone by xmas, they are a proper outfit being used horribly currently, that will change.

By the way it’s not like we haven’t set up that way before . First ten or so games last season . He played a midfield three of KP, Forshaw and Klich . I was frustrated with it as Forshaw duplicated KP’s role . Forshaw offered little going forward and we struggled against teams who sat back . But I’m advocating Shack in the Forshaw role who has more invention and only against the better sides in the division who will come at us hard . I can see MB doing something similar .

There’s no denying Liverpool were by far the best team in the country last year . No teams except Man City and Chelsea managed to scored 3 or more goals against them in the league, so how about judging our team on the 3 goals we scored and not on the how a couple of players were not as influential as usual, if they was we would have won by 3 goals, football has never been that simple . So why not enjoy the ride and not dissecting every performance . At least wait till the season settles down a bit and we know where we are instead of saying this player and that player can’t cut it after playing the runaway league winners .

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Sep 2020 10:41:23
Raggity did you actually read my posts?! No one is saying a player or players can’t cut it . This is a banter sight where opinions and tactics are meant to be discussed . My point is Tyler and Pablo are at their best when on the ball and we are dominating teams . Also for that matter when we are counter attacking in transition . But there may be times in the season like Saturday, when we are losing the midfield battle and they become dispensable .

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Sep 2020 20:11:17
Red agreed, the question should be asked can we continue to play like that all season with a very small group, I am not sure we can, we start very well but then it drops off.

very sensible posts in my opinion

Liverpool are a great team but have not been good since project restart. They conceded three at home twice on the bounce now for the first time since 76! so as good as we were to score three. so was the last team they played at Anfield.

no doubt we can play but soft goals (free kicks) and getting over run will cost us. losing 4-3 to Liverpool made us proud but what if we start losing 4-3 to spurs or worsts West Ham?

yes we won't concede two pens every game but we will concede corners and high balls. we also will not score with 100% of our shots like we did against liverpool

I love Pablo but can't see him doing much at his age in this league (he is a Demi god but even they age) and Tyler great prospect but as some say a bit of a luxury player

we need stiffer and more resilient midfield or we will concede every week.

I know I bang the kp drum but all will admit he is slow so him with pablo must be (a very talented midfield) but the slowest in the league by far. and that will cost goals every week. for me Shacks has to play or put Kp in pablo role with Stuijk in dm role with a better Cb than Cooper

without doing either of these things I fail to see many weeks where we won't concede at least two goals. and needing to score three every week to pick up three points is a dangerous game.
