The future of Archie Gray,
Will he go or will he stay?

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jun 2024 15:06:11
Not bothered if he goes . he isn't a match winner unlike his grand uncle Eddie was

get a good wedge and reinvest in team.

28 Jun 2024 15:09:49
Hate to say but think money talks and ag will sadly leave.

28 Jun 2024 16:37:50
Be sad if he goes, but as Bri says, money talks. If we can get £40m plus some add ons and a sell on clause then happy days. Think everyone is a winner there then.

28 Jun 2024 16:55:36
Dortmund would be great for his further development.
Don’t want him to go, but agree with Bri and Dilli.

28 Jun 2024 17:47:58
Agree Brighty, got to think of his future development and Dortmund would be an excellent fit. He would at least get reasonable game time over there, certainly far more than he would at Spurs, Chelsea or any other Premier club.
Having said all that, please stay!

28 Jun 2024 17:55:14
Yep, agree lads. Dortmund preferable if he does go. Good for him and no chance he plays against us in the near future.

28 Jun 2024 20:18:20
If AG, CS, GR, or any other of our assets go, we need to demand the right fee upfront along with a watertight sell on clause. Something we haven't been the best at in the recent past.

28 Jun 2024 22:29:33
What LUFCfeath said 100 %.

29 Jun 2024 00:16:06
Agree all above. Got to get dosh to reinvest. Over 45m will get us 2-3 decent enough players.

29 Jun 2024 07:09:41
Indeed, spot on Feath!

29 Jun 2024 07:52:24
Can’t see any club paying 40Mil for him, maybe half that value. It would be a huge mistake for Leeds to sell him now as he will contribute massively to us getting promoted. With one or two seasons in the Premiership his stock will likely multiply then they could decide if to profit from him.

29 Jun 2024 11:42:08
Well if so, then fret not OP, because bids of just £ 20 million would obviously NOT be accepted by Mr Marathe and co

Previous season AG had a goodish season especially as an 18 year old novice playing competently to well mainly at RB

He defended mostly well though did NOT assist nor score when venturing forward neither did he when playing in midfield for 15 or so matches!

So rather illogical OTT of OP to then claim AG ' would contribute MASSIVELY to Leeds getting promoted ' ?

First of all Leeds getting promoted is far from a given

and secondly as for being a 'promotion massive contributor " ( ie match winner ) well going on previous season CS yes ok, GR yes ok, JR yes ok, DJ arguably yes even

but AG definitely nope.

29 Jun 2024 16:01:43
Chelsea just spunked £19m on Kellyman from Villa, OP. Cracking talent but only 3 senior games to his name. Teams are paying through the nose for potential these days. Think we can get at least £30m given his ability and potential. Especially if it's an EPL club who have to fulfill English/ homegrown quotas.

I do think he'll be more integral next season if he stays, but business is business and that kinda money is great for us to reinvest in multiple players.

Not illogical, Baz. Good, young players generally contribute more with more experience. Look at Summerville from 22/ 23 to 23/ 24 as a recent example. Happens all the time and it's something I would deem pretty much a certain if he stays as he's going to be utilised further up the pitch, imo. Wouldn't dismiss it at all.

29 Jun 2024 16:14:31
That goes back to you then Baz, who would pay 40Mil for a young player who has achieved very little so far?
At least at Leeds he’s had a full season behind him and will only improve in his next.

29 Jun 2024 16:44:18
I hear what you say Dill to an extent

but

are you even sure DF rates him in midfield and will play him in midfield. His stats there are unimpressive to say the least there

Nope mark my words DF likes AG more as a RB

Match winner in CM he most certainly is not (so far at least)

and he will not be a matchwinner playing at RB either.

29 Jun 2024 16:48:56
Err OP .1) Chelsea definitely 2) Manx ( under previous regimes)

This goes 'back to you'OP .

. yes he has indeedvaa you say' achieved very little so far".

so again therefore on what logic is he ' contributing MASSIVELY ' to Leeds promotion next season?

Goals? no
Assists? . no.

29 Jun 2024 17:59:39
He played as a RB most of the season?!

29 Jun 2024 20:58:45
Unfortunate coincidence maybe, but AG’s form dipped as well as that of Kamara and Gruev’s when we started playing him midfield. Despite RB not being his “natural” position, I felt the team was better with him playing there.

Whilst he definitely has potential, he is a long way off being the finished article (in either position) , and whilst it would be sad for him to go, the club would be crazy to turn down the sums being rumoured. Isn’t his younger brother supposed to be even better?
