I think Danny ward from Liverpool would be a good addition to the team, given that he is not getting a chance at Liverpool I think we could sign him.

Good result, feel for ekuban and for the goalie, doesn't take the pressure of himself or the team, although he did make a good save at 2-1 but shouldn't have been in that position. Pleased for roofe, i think he has shown that against the lower teams he has no probs in the striker role. Good also to see cibiki on and looking dangerous. Patient approach to the game and a strong second half, Saiz and Alioski providing the threat and assists and hernadez to come back.

Could Roofe be todays answer to sniffer? Only he works a bit harder than Alan Clarke. I think he is a very good player who just needs a bit more confidence. Nice result today even though we have played better. MoT

I think we have the answer to our striker question already on the payroll the only problem is everyone has flaw of some sort. From what I have seen they are all capable of leading the line given, confidence and a few goals. I would prefer on out and out favourite who is banging them in but for now have to settle for the merry go round, perm any one from four. If this hatrick sets Roofe off on a hot streak then it helps solve another problem as TC can add all the new striker money into the new goalkeeper money.

We were poor in the first half and a decent team may have put us to bed. However, whatever TC said at half time clearly worked. Roofe seems a different player upfront. He can look disinterested on the wing and twice in the first half yesterday Ayling had a go at him for pulling out of challenges. Up front though he looks a different player. He seems much more confident and he keeps scoring so think he should be given his chance to stay there. Cibicki impressed me too yesterday. He worked hard and put in some good balls too after he came on so hopefully that'll give him confidence to push on. The defence were solid enough yesterday and although QPR had a few balls into the box Felix didn't have a save to make (which was good) until AFTER his blunder (which was awful) All in all a decent away day and made the journey back to Leeds a better one than I'd been fearing at half time

Fred, Sniffer had Jonesy to do the leg work so for it to work we need two up top. Roofe and ?

Same as any other striker, only as good as the supply. What a find alioski is. that cross. & he looks to "get" playing for Leeds Problem is, cut out the crosses and we don't look as good. Saiz seems reluctant to shoot but. What a player . Still, we look better going forward than last year so progress at least Judge them after 3 transfer windows. Still work to do.

Lads did the keeper really make a howler or was it just unlucky

A proper 100% howler. Partially redeemed himself a few moments later though with a superb save to keep it at 1-2

Problem is even if he doesn’t cost us 3 points he harms the goal difference and that could be crucial in a tight league

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Dec 2017 23:19:14
To put it in perspective . Earlier in the season his big problem was his reluctance to come for the ball. They have obviously been working on this with him and, ironically, he got in trouble through moving toward a ball for which he should have stayed put. On the plus side he didn't go back in his shell and came forward for that key save moments later.

It seems to me as a basic goalkeeping judgement error and prevarication The ball is lobbed, he stands on his line thinking to go for it. Takes a few tentative steps then decides to stay. Then when it, s too late decides to go leaving him in no mans land. If he had had the courage initially he could have caught it on the full or if deciding to stay could have, at worst, tipped it over the bar. As it was, because of his indecisiveness he cost us a goal. The fact that it did not affect the result is a tiny, and very fortunate, detail and should never excuse an action that in many other situations could have, and probably would have, adversely affected the game and our chance of a much needed 3 points. I hope TC does not wear rose tinted and realises that surgery is needed and if no other acquisition is made in January a top spec Goalie is required

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 13:09:32
Felix will cost us if he stays in the team until the end of the season, the back four help cover for him when they play well. A new keeper must be a priority in the January transfer window, but feel TC will continue with him. Roofe is a confidence player and has shown how good he can be when getting the right service. Have to say this group of players have also shown they have the bottle to battle and hope we have come though the bad spell. Do believe we have to strengthen in January, to push for a play off place.

I sort of agree George but we have just seen one striker score a hatrick and if TC can bring himself to playing 2 upfront Roofe and Grot/Cibiki/Lassoga? (with a rejuvinated Antonsson waiting) may be an answer. Right now I think everyone seems to agree that there is one particular position problem needs addressing first.

Great win today. Well done Roofe and well done Cibiki. Good to see him getting an opportunity to show what he can do against a championship defence rather than Premier League. However, why do we have two keepers that are league two standard (and that's being generous) . Bet Sylvestri wishes he'd stayed now, he'd be playing every week!

Not much on that bench at all today, surely sacko is worthy of a spot, I don't think any of our wide men are performing that well, with the exception of cibliski they are all defensive minded players . best hope the 11 he has chose can do it. 🤞

Apparently Prutton, who predicted that Villa would beat us last week, is now saying that we should have been disappointed not to win, we will will today as we have turned the corner and should expect a top 6 finish. A week is along time in football!

All football clubs like to trot out the same announcements in advance of every transfer window. ”we will only be adding to the squad if the players available are better than what we have” That may be true for the likes of Man City but for a lot of fans that’s code for we’re skint, or has been the case in recent seasons there isn’t the value for money in the English market anymore. So we’re looking abroad. Enter Victor Orta and many other talent gurus ! The only observation I make for THIS league (personally I think we need 5-6 players) is that everyone can beat anyone every single week. Following the initial few weeks ALL the other leagues find their natural equilibrium so that mini leagues are created. Bristol won at the blades last night to go third, both of those teams have spent very little money in comparison to Villa, Boro it even ourselves. BUT Bristol won with almost the exact same team that we beat 3-0 at their place? Probably more questions than answers here, but just maybe it’s about more than always buying, it’s also about the Manager, Team Spirit, Confidence and I believe our biggest need just now Leaders on the pitch. I still want my 5-6 players but that’s not the whole solution, Leaders, enforcers is the clear priority I would give to any player bought in this window irrespective of the position they play.

Agree class. There isn't a team in this league that would have made play offs last year. They are all crap. Buying non established english or euros is a risk. Better to spend big buck on proven players or good scout or management. Monk was useless but we are not a team like last year! We are lots of individuals having good games randomly!

09 Dec 2017 14:50:07

09 Dec 2017 15:14:22
We got 16 at the start of the season surely someone should know what they doing clearly not, now we need 5 or 6,we had a good side at the end of last season add 3 or 4 tothat would have cost less than the 20 or so we bought in and the cost is another season in this league, sound business.

Good point Class, think Aus has been at the Fosters again! Wolves and Cardiff don't look crap to me and come to think of it neither do we. I have seen 5 games at Elland Road this year and honestly, the team spirit is there. This is a good team, better than last year, learning but good. Play offs are still there for the taking and we have the chance to build a bit of stability. Reasons to be cheerful!

Thanks Spanish that was the point I’m trying to convey, as a Leeds fan I’d like 5-6 ( areas for improvement for me are goalie, left back, centre half, goal scoring winger and another forward) BUT my point was, this team with TC on point, team spirit and togetherness which confidence follows can make the playoffs and can beat anyone on their day. Sorry Whiteman lost me with the 4-0?
