Leeds come knocking on the door. So I do my homework and see Leeds have only one striker. After jumping up and down for ten minutes, I research little deeper. By this point my club has had an offer of 15 million pounds.
I pop in and talk with the gaffer "Look boss, am not going to Leeds. "
Boss says "Really, hand on heart, you're not getting a game this season playing here. So. "
But boss I say "Leeds never, ever drop Bamford, so what's the point in going! "
Both people standing in the room scratching their heads.
Any player looking at Leeds right now have to be thinking they wouldn't get any game time, add that to not targeting realistic players and I think that sums up the lack of movement in the transfer market.

Cannot understand the club, when you know the window is coming up, you identify the positions you need to strengthen, you then compile a list of targets for each position, first, second and third choice, you then make your enquiries on availability in December, if not available move on to next choice.
Surely a Director of football in charge of recruitment is capable of this. It is not that difficult.

Agree with it all 70, already said way too many times on here, it's actually embarrassing that a team pushing for promotion knowing full well in advance that it was going to lose a striker have now 23 days, possibly 4 games later still not got a striker in . Yet there a few on here will tell you do not dare question the leader on any aspect of the club on or off the field .
Wall are going to be fired up for next game and the fallout from possibly another lost 3 points will be terrible,

Why are we messing about trying to buy a player who can't get a game. Whose last decent stats was seasons ago. Why not find a poacher/ goalscorer lower leagues/ Europe who would cost 5/ 7 mill and £12,000 per week.

We have scouts operating from U 10’s upwards. Very active in the junior arena. Can’t comment on the senior element, as I never made it that far, but I’m guessing that in this day and age, it’s more about contacts, a network, hence the approach for the lad on loan at Monaco from Leipzig.

Cynicism and negative? We apparently are preparing a fourth bid for Adams when Southampton seem to be in no mood to let him go. Cynical view. The Leeds board know he won't be leaving but keep making offers that are bound to be rejected knowing they are running down the clock in the transfer window. When no one arrives the board can respond by saying 'We tried our best'.
Bamford and a few others can't be as bad as they are making out. Non league players would be embarrassed about some of the missed chances. The hard bit at Leeds level is to get yourself in a good position in front of goal and getting the ball where you would want it. Having got yourself there getting the ball on target is the easier bit. Some of Bamford's (and others) misses are difficult to comprehend. One or two maybe but consistently that bad is difficult to believe. Cynical response. Some players do well early in the season to show they can at this level but get worried they might get promotion and will be on their way out once the team is in the premiership. Plying for Leeds in the Championship is great for them. Leaving and having to go to Barnsley, Huddersfield, Millwall etc must be a frightening prospect. Who would want promotion if you're not good enough to play premiership football. Leeds is a big club who would want to leave. Smacks of turkeys voting for Christmas. Happens too often to be simply a coincidence.

I also agree with your other point about Leeds players of a certain standard happy for Leeds to remain in the Championship as they know they would not remain at the club if Leeds were to get promotion to PL.
I wonder therefore if there was an element of (subconscious) sabotage by some players in the second half of last season?

When we signed him he was the big hope expecting to be fast tracked into the first team.
Since then we have seen others stepping over him.
Was he over-rated, slow to progress or could we see him soon

Know a lot on here rate Adams and think he would be a good addition, which he probably would. I still do not understand why, if true, we have offered 20mill for a player who is struggling to get in Southamptons first team and was only worth 15mill six month ago. What has he done to increase his value by 5mill, smacks of desperation to me. Seems like he is the only iron in the fire so get him at all cost. We should have pulled out of this a week ago and seriously looked elsewhere. We could buy Vidra and Wells for that money and still have enough left to buy a CB. Clubs must see us coming.
