I am not his biggest fan but KP was not the reason why we did not win today despite the prejudice of one particular poster. Brentford mirrored our style and did not allow the full backs to push forward. Pontus was top notch today but too many had off games and Bielsa must consider squad rotation after the international break, as we really have missed Hernandez and Roofe. That being said, against a decent team and a referee, I am not unhappy that we got a point today.

notts please, I did not say he was the reason we did not win just that we were not the better team today and we were over ran in midfeild and KP class was shown, he is not the reason but also not good enough, we got few players out and they are good team so decent point but not promotion form for me.

KP was no worse than Klich or Siaz today. Both teams cancelled each other out. Draw was fair result.

06 Oct 2018 22:23:28
The balls that we passed back to our keeper at times didn't help when he is lumping it up to saiz, Roberts, and Harrison who lost it to the opposition or out of play.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 23:29:17
KP class shown Bermondsey? Phil Hay had him as equal 2nd rating today, with at least 5 below him. Today the problems were behind him and in front of him and not due to him. Compared with a number of the others, he actually had a reasonable game. Too many errors, as Bielsa stated after the game and actually a lot more from other players. We had the ball, we just lost it time and time again by bad balls and then put pressure on ourselves by more bad balls in defense. But even then, it took a dodgy penalty for them to take the lead.

KP isn’t going to define our season or stop us from getting promoted, he’s good enough to protect the defense, which he has been doing and link the play to Saiz and Klich. Often he is able to do more than that by picking out other players with great passes and today he was unlucky not to score.

A quarter of the season gone and we are in third place having played without Hernandez, Roofe and Bamford for 56 games . Let’s get them back and see what impact that has on the team. Don’t give up on promotion yet, it’s October 6th!

I agree. I think Brentford are the best footballing team
In the league. They have been doing what we are doing the last 2 seasons with an unknown manager. For me are a good team too watch playing proper football. Is taje a draw all day long against them home and away. We didn’t lose which tbh I think in first half could have been a couple down. So move on. And get a few players back fit after international break. ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️🍺.

Sorry Spanish few on here said KP anomous and of course i agree, defensivley he offers nothing which is why pontus has to play so well because his batty can't play like batty, for me middle of the park is the most important place and will have large baring on where we finish, for me someone who is over run and can't defend will cost, on the other hand he is good asinst hull but against brentford can not influcne play again not due to class on ball but due to pace and molibility is not able to get on the ball. Said it against stoke and maybe 100 times since (maybe 10000) he is not good enough due to his flaws dispite his quality, he will cost us and be anonomous against teams like brentford and defeinslively is such a huge liability due to him being anonomous.

i have not given up on playoffs but unless we get someone to play in his position a team with KP in it will not compete in play offs in my opinion he plays too viaitl a role.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 12:53:40
I was at the game, he wasn’t anonymous, Phil Hay didn’t think he was anonymous! How can an anonymous player almost score the winner! As I’ve said before, you’re not really criticising Phillipis you’re criticising Bielsa because he picks him and trusts him to do that job, game after game and yesterday he didn’t sub him, why, because his position wasn’t the problem, his distribution wasn’t the problem. The ball was with Cooper and Ayling and they were miss kicking it both under and without pressure. When the ball was going through Phillips to Saiz, Kilch and Harrison they were losing it or miss kicking it. Still honestly do not understand how a Leeds Fan who has watched what we have achieved this year so far, with a new coach, new style and injured stars, can believe that 5th is the highest we can come! So on the 7th October, you’ve given up on a top 4 finish!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 14:23:54
Agree Spanish, I was at the game also and will defend KP as he wasn't anonymous, he played better than most our team yesterday. I will criticise any player when he has a stinker, but some people are taking the KP bashing to the point of obsession. The guy is wearing a Leeds top and going out to do his best for our team, Bielsa thinks so. I didn't date Roberts performance yesterday but I want the guy to succeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 17:02:57
i'm not saying we can't finsih above 4th of course we can still win it, i'm just saying i don't think we will. these are too different things.

with KP also saw the game (twice now) for me everything i have said time and time again still applies, i have noted a as the the season goes on a lot more people are agreeing with me, which is a shame i would hope he would prove me wrong but i have seen nothing to make me think this will be one of the very few times i am wrong, to give me credit when i made predicitons on this site about players it normally comes right.

50/ 50 day for me

positives
fighting spirt late goal never die mentality
ponuts was great
BPF played well unlucky with goal
subs looked decent when on

i think some are harsh on alioski he was no worse than harrsion first half, then gave all and won us our fk for equaliser

I think roberts did well, again our forwards are isolated

also ref was a joke

negivites

brentford by far the better team and far more efiecnt and dangerours on the ball

aling looks off pace, people watchig game with me said we look tired off pace

dont look like promotion team IMO

some have said KP anonomous of course he lacks physical atributes to play dencent level champ teams (and some said better than henderson and england callup? ) his position is too vitial to have a lack of mobility and defensive cover there . not sure if I mentioned this but KP is not good enough to get us promoted and too vital a position to be carried in bigger games.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Oct 2018 20:41:16
Good post Bermo apart from the bit where you said we don’t look promotion winning side. Our main problem was protecting the defense as Brentford cut through us too easily and it wasn’t just Phillips at fault. However this league is so unpredictable and I was happy to get a point against a top side after not playing our best. We actually could of nicked it at the end as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 21:24:27
no wasn't just KP at fault by a long shot, aling was poor, alisnki and harrsion both didn't do enough and we were over run and out played in midfield. do i think kp is good. no, do i think he will cost us promotion. to an extent yes, in that vitial position we need someone not amonous who can move quicker than my nan. is he at fualt for all of leeds problems course not.

as for promotion no team outside of west brom look promotion or a shoe in, its a long season and hard to call in hard league. but from everything I have seen this season (derby and stoke games were false results due to early season ames and where they were) I personally put a good few teams above us in who i think will go up at the end of the day i don't care about going up just want a ood go and a season that lasts till may.

TBH I think ayling is looking very average this session. Thought we missed him last year badly. But beginning too think he could be a weak link at the back. Ball watching too much.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 08:53:21
ayling looks knackered and few of our layers look sluggish. Dare I question MB but is he almost too good for our players? does he damand more than they can give phisyically in this league? worrying me most is how early in season this is.

A bit of a downer by all means, but the fact that Boro, didn't see Forest coming, Wigan and Swansea most certainly didn't expect what they got served up by Preston and Ipswich, whilst Sheffield only beat Hull 1-0 at home and it reminds you that it is a highly unpredictable. Brentford will take points from other top teams and there was only WBA who did really well today. Derby were held. Sh1t happens. That said, I am concerned that at the start of the season we were free scoring and now seem to need to grind out results, despite the pressure play. Hopefully the break will aĺow them time to sort themselves out. God bless Pontus. Onwards n upwards! MOT!

We have a lot of possession in games lately, but the truth is that we are very lightweight in the striker department due to injuries. I personally was not impressed with Roberts today, he had 2 chances and put both last the post. He lost the ball and was easily knocked off the ball. I would have thought Bielsa would have took him off and given the young lads a run out up front.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 18:48:25
Well we don’t have any strikers left really do we? Roberts not good enough or experienced enough to be the answer yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 19:35:06
No spare attackers and n goals for Siaz or Alioski. We don't have the fire power or enough manpower despite the hope. Youngsters will not last the whole season. Radz holds the purse strings. We brought in 1 attackers and 1 defender and loanees. I've said this from the start. The season is 46 games not 11. No chance unless the squad is strengthened. END OF!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 19:45:43
I thought Roberts done alright. Ok he lost possession a few times but he always made himself available and lookied to be positive. Let’s not forget he’s only 19 and imo has filled pretty well for Roofe.

Hey lads. we've got to agree with ausman posts.
Although he talks garbage in most of em.
Ok aylings had a bad couple of games. we fell apart last year when he was out.
Definitely 1 of best teams we've faced to date this season.
Definitely a dive for penalty.
Young clarke impressed because he's 17 and didn't look out of place against a good left back. in onionbaji. he got hooked for 2 fouls on the lad in 5 mins. only 1 team looked like winning in the end. played against 12 men today, came from behind again, and for me deserved at least a point. have a rest and regroup. return with a stronger matchday squad. cheers lads.

Really pleased for Clarke, useful sub at least, when the adults get tired . Not afraid to run at people and causes panic. He causes panic and creates space for others. His appearance, Pontus”s performance, the Elland Road atmosphere and the point, highlights of the day!

The Bees stifled us with tackles the like of which we were penalised. This resulted in losing possession far too often. Should learn the folly of arguing with ref (even when you are right) and getting needless yellows.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Oct 2018 16:29:30
To be honest I thought brentford were excellent in the tackle and stopped us getting a rhythm.
Well done Alioski driving us forward last 15 minutes.
Ayling is getting worse and worse and Phillips was anonymous. Roberts played well while not getting enough support at times. Missed Douglas today especially going forward. Good point with key players out.

Cannot agree corky, regarding Philips. I was at the game today and though the lad battled well, yes he did on a couple of occasions get caught on the ball but the majority of his game was good, others were far worse today and the lad Roberts did nothing, I know he is going but he was far too lightweight today.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 18:01:19
What’s happened to saiz? . last season he was getting in behind the fwds and looked a real goal threat, this season he is way too deep all the time, think the squad Is massively over achieving at the moment, fair play to Brentford, they pressed us high today and left 3 players up front all game which stopped us playing out from the back. jansson is looking back to his best, Ayling was poor today as was Harrison, we didn’t really create anything down the right all game.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 20:40:40
I made a point of watching Philips today at the match as he has been bashed by a few on this site lately. Yes he made a couple of mistakes but also put himself about and worked hard for the team. He certainly wasn't anonymous Cork, people seem happy to pick up on anything negative with Philips but he does a lot of good work for the team.

What about the headbut on Alioski in Brentford dugout by Canos!

Did the ref not see this!

Fortunately that lovely Mr Harvey at FL will insist on retrospective action for the incident and Alioski will be banned for six matches for using the back of his neck to strike poor Canos.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I was wondering if anyone would mention that - so brave to headbutt someone in the back!}

Referee did his best to ruin the game, and didn't us fans let him know. Hope we don't get punished by the EFL for our fans throwing things into the pitch and the mini pitch invasion after we scored. A bit of play acting from Brentford players and time wasting from the moment they scored.

Error strewn performance from our players and the ref! Atmosphere in the crowd was unbelievable, don't know if that came through on the tv, but fans absolutely awesome! Pontus, incredible game back to being super hero. Ayling a touch has deserted him a bit, he was the same in the first 30 against Birmingham but the uncertainty lasted longer today! Red card will give him a rest!

Great to see Clarke coming in and getting a run, not scared of taking people on and almost created a goal as soon as he came on.

To be fair to Alioski his energy, commitment and tackling don't waiver even when his skill does a bit.

What really stands out from this team is the belief and determination to keep going and that result will strengthen the team spriit and group mentality even more.

Not a great performance but a well deserved and hard won point.

Felt like we got out of jail there . Penalty was very soft IMO. The ref did us no favours all game . Before Ayling ( shocker) got sent off, I thought the full back and midfield players from Brentford both got very lucky to escape second yellow cards. Dallas, janson, phillips, roberts great 1st halves. watching at home, full of flu but on telly get to see a bit more and will watch again because i can't help it.1st goal going to be crucial.
Cheers lads.

Well that was an ordinary first half performance. Too much space for their players in our own half and lucky to be level . And agree Ayling being really poor and our passing from defence average to say the least. That full back looks like he has Harrison covered . Mind ya it's football and things can often change after halftime. Keeping the faith and hoping we nick this one . MOT.

Is it me or is the referee a Brentford lover.

Don't like giving individuals stick but does Ayling not train with the rest of the team. He is definitely on different wavelength!
# Terrible distribution!

Def. he has been poor for weeks
His decision on passing a ball is about 10 seconds too late.

You are right Danum, Ayling is having a stinker, Cooper is a liability waiting to happen and KP is absent!

No need to be nervous.
We bought in 2 players as the owner said that's all we need and 3 loanees. He thinks that's enough for promotion! Easy!

Sarcasm!

Evening from Sydney lads. Nice to have the early kick off here for a change (930pm) . Bit worried about this one and I'm going 1-1 . Although how good would it be to get through to the international break still on top if we win . Then to get full squad back afterwards be really good also. MOT.

Win by two clear goals for me, they’re a good footballing side, but we’ve beaten them at home last two times, and we’re a better side than previously.

Think the Millwall game away was a big result for the mental toughness of this side, and although the squad is severely stretched still believe we will win by two.

And for a change the international break is welcome in the hope of getting some key men back. Harrison, Roberts and a CB to score today. MOT.

Brentford not great recently so ready for a win. The big buns and Douglas out. can't see even a draw.

Absolutely Metissekit, not sure the Council will be happy but sod em! Being bossed a bit first half but betting on bubs to turn us round, love to see Jack Clarke given some minutes today.

So Dallas it is then! Clarke, Edmundson, Shackleton, Pearce on the bench with Forshaw and Baker! If we need extra attacking options could this be the day Jack Clarke gets a chance?

Morning fellow Leeds fans, early start soon for the journey to ER. Weather looking a bit gloomy out but hoping for a decent game and a good result for us. It's going to be a tough match so let's get behind the boys and make some noise as usual. MOT.
