So after spending around £225 million in the summer :

'tactical genius' Frankie Lampard's ' title chasing' Chelski

have won just one more game

than the ' tactically naive ' Marcelo Bielsa's newly promoted Leeds.

wilder has done an amazing job no one can say anything other than that

yes the magic has stopped, they have been found out and look set for drop but they have no right being there in first place

you offer any team in league one at the moment (especially bottom half) back to back promotions followed by top half prem finish then getting relegated without spending money they would all take it. over past four seasons find me a better manager or better job than Chris Wilde. I bet you can not do it.

No need to address this.
Don`t you people ever give up, and no I am not taking the bait fella`s, I am responding as anyone would do, to continuous petulance.
That incident with the goal was 2 years ago, and your player got a fellow professional sent of behaving like child as a result, something I might add that is looked down on within the game,
its gone, its done with, its all over, let it rest.
And I gloss it over because people on here are incapable of discussing anything in a sensible way, I know all too well people, I have tried several times.
I think you lot should get back to the roses incident that happened hundreds of years ago, it is more up your street, then you can carry on living in the past bearing grudges, I hope you enjoy it.
I do admit there are 2 or 3 decent posters on here, but the rest of you are just not worth the effort, its is the same old, same old, it has become really tiring, a bit like tooth ache.
To be honest, I think you all know how repetitive you are, but like getting up in the morning, its hard to change habitual behaviour, you must learn to give and take, and not be so hateful.
Read the last three months posts and you will see exactly what I mean.
So if possible, you carry on and enjoy your lives.

It is a banter Site after all, at such a difficult time my thoughts go back to those wonderful humbling words expressed by your Manager Mr Smith, when asked did he feel guilty at Bournemouth’s relegation, which was rightfully Villa’s, it still seems most appropriate for today;

“We just have to accept it and move on, there’s nothing else we can do. ”.

It was only the pathetic histrionics of Terry and Smith at the time and the honourable actions of our Manager gave you a goal you never deserved.

To Berm and Ed001, Reading your exchange of somewhat heated posts, methinks I unwittingly stirred things with posts of my own. That was not my intent and I wish to apologize actually to both of you for helping to provoke. Sorry!.
Berm, Ed001 does a fantastic editorial job on here. Not only does he clearly care about Leeds, he's very knowledgeable about the sport worldwide. I think some humility and knowing when to let a point go is required. I definitely find some of your opinions bizarre but I'll defend your right to voice them and have defended you in the past. It's just when Ed001 steps in to correct, probably he's right and we should recognize that rather than argue to failure. Just my opinion. You're free to do what you please.

George,

Ed001 is clearly very knowledgable on football, without question

but as Cork also enquires I am curious, as to how Ed001 ' clearly cares' about Leeds, have we missed something, do you mean shows respect.

Certainly Liverpool fans are renowned for showing class and respect to other clubs in certain circumstances. That night in 1969 comes to mind when the Kop showed it's class in applauding the Leeds team which had just won the league at the end of the Liverpool Leeds match.

Zooks I believe Ed001 has a soft spot for us. He's complimentary about Bielsa and appears to enjoy posting on our forum. Don't think he'd begrudge us some success is my hunch.

Question : What is meant to be Rodrigo 's best position? Number 9? CAM? Or?

As I have looked up Rodrigo's goalscoring stats and he has scored 105 goals in 396 matches. ok but concerningly far from prolific at around 1 goal in 4 games if he has been playing as a number 9.

On a different tangent, upon watching West Brom vs Liverpool, it seems evident Big Sam has tightened them up defensively.

So Leeds might now need to be near their best to get a win at Brom, would be content enough with point, but must not lose.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

28 Dec 2020 14:40:23
I believe most of his time was either winger or striker.
CAM is not his natural position from my understanding.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2020 14:59:54
I believe he is a deep lying forward or old fashioned number ten I see him as a peter Beardsley type player who apparently we nearly singed in 1990.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2020 15:38:25
Could be Berm . certainly looks more a Peter Beardsley type than an out and out striker. His goal stats aren't good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2020 16:16:49
Rodrigo has generally played as part of a front 2 or 3, usually dropping into spaces, dragging defenders out of position with runs to leave space etc. Has never been prolific but has generally had a lot of assists so a good goal contribution rate overall. Think we currently play him a little deep but when he gets in and around the box he causes problems, just need to get him there more.

He appears to me as in being moulded as a cam now , which I suppose at this stage of his career will take a bit of readjusting, yes he is not going to be a prolific scorer for us, but imo it's not coincidence that his arrival has also came in tandem with paddy scoring 10 so far this season, Rodi is a work house.

Meslier had to utilize his height advantage as a keeper to prevent Burnley from muscling in with their obvious height and physical advantage, Burnley knew that as well and tried to out muscle him. Whether it was palming or punching the ball away under the brut like attack he got, I thought he did extremely well.
Having said that, I do think Meslier fouled Barnes. What comes around goes around.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

28 Dec 2020 12:30:24
I’m complete opposite.
I don’t think it a foul. In fact I saw it from an angle that showed Barnes or whoever it was, eyes. And he knew exactly what he was doing. He fouled Messler.
However although he made good saves he needs to catch the ball. At least 4 times I saw he could have caught it. No logic in punching. Goalkeepers only have to be breathes on these days and get free kicks. So he should catch the ball and invite the foul.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2020 13:12:25
To add to the above.
Bamford got the ball first. He in no way stopped Pope from making a save or legal tackle. Pope fractionally got the ball second and stopped Bamford. Foul. Penalty.
Mee or Barnes or whoever it was looked at the situation prior to making a pathetic effort to get the ball knowing he was going to be clobbered. That’s simulation. That’s basically diving and he should have been sent off.
Watch all the angles. I’m right.
Finally mr dicye. Welcome to warnock and alardyce land. U have expanded my friends without benefits from 2-3. Stupid brainless man. U lost.

Aus, so he has eyes in the back of his head? Went through the back of a player jumping straight up.

Bamford was a penalty for sure, played the ball before Pope took him out.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2020 19:36:36
Aus is right. The ball was going miles above his head. He knew he wasn't going to get to it, so made a pathetic attempt to get near the ball, hoping he would get clattered and then a penalty. Luckily the ref saw this as most pundits obviously didn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2020 10:09:15
Think Liverpool result yesterday shows that any team will be unbalanced and struggle without their recognised first choice defenders.

Cannot believe motd are now saying it was a allardyce masterclass.

Van dijk is best centre back in the world but Liverpool have still managed to get results by juggling their pack but when they lost Matip as well yesterday, Brom score from a corner.

Many other teams park the bus in recent seasons at Liverpool and City seldom does it work as the results testify.

Brom got lucky that’s all nothing more but it does put into context our own admirable position in the league when we too have been unable to put out our chosen first pick defence, even once this season.

We will face exactly the same from Brom when we play them next packed defences and almost total reliance on set pieces. the beautiful game my bottom.

Hope we start the game with the side that finished against Burnley as Klich needs two weeks rest and Rodrigo looked very leggy (the virus? ) finally, I really like Poveda to get some minutes from the off he is definitely one of the best we have for beating a defender one on one.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

, I really think Raph +rod are bubs fitness ready, I think the reason they faded in 2nd half is because we were bossed in 2nd half, Burnley got they're game together 2nd half and we're a lot more direct,

Imo the style of play is the only adjustment they maybe lack, not the physical pace of the premieship .

Raph is a great addition for us, and rod is just adjusting to a new role which with experience he will excel in.

As a lot of people have mentioned yesterday it was evident that the pitch was waterlogged due to the heavy rain. I noticed in the game against Leicester the pitch was of a similar condition which did affect our quick movement and passing of the ball, especially in the second half when perhaps some of our players suffered from tired legs in the boggy conditions.
With Klich, who has undoubtedly lost form, Bielsa, who rates him very highly, I believe will continue playing him in hope it’ll get him through his lack of confidence at the moment. To take him out of the game completely might set him back even further.
It’s a shame for Shackleton who is in good form at the moment, has been subbing Klich but ultimately we need Klich to get back to his former self to get that Leeds United motor purring correctly.
It’ll be another tough game against Mike Basset’s Baggies, our quick play and passing will have to be on top form to win this one.

Great result against a tough and physical side, gives us some nice space from the relegation zone.
Before KO was thinking 4 points from burnley and brom be great, now wanting 6.
Other teams dropped points and would like Brighton to go backwards and then snap up white next season?
Thought meslier, Phillips and ailing very good, like someone said prior, good subs with shacks and POV, we also better with Phillips in middle but he did get some crucial headers in today.
Great run and well taken pen from bam bam and great to not concede.
Lastly, not sure what's happened to klich last few games, is he fatigued?
Disappointed with Rodrigo, nearly 30mil and not looking a good investment, had chances but not taking them, only 2 goals not enough, just my opinion, maybe time will prove me wrong.

Phillips and struik played well.
Good pass by Ayling. Def a pen for us and tbh now I’ve watched it a few more times I don’t reckon there player has made a good enough attempt to get the ball and is trying to foul mezzler.
I do wish goalie would catch the ball.
Klich again woeful. Needs a rest.
