Anyone else think that Loris Karius could be worth considering. I really feel he was hung out to dry over the 'mistakes ' in the CL final. These keep on being brought up and no-one seems to consider that that thug Ramos had elbowed him in the head (completely missed by the officials) . Seems deeply unfair that Karius' career continues to blighted by that game while Ramos continues to be lauded almost universally - despite his assaults on both Karius and Salah in that game - and numerous similar incidents throughout his career. Yes here were early concerns over Karius' focus during games, but he seemed to have got over that issue prior to that game, and the two 'mistakes' were entirely consistent with the concussion he was later shown to have suffered due to the deliberate elbow from Ramos - so should be seen as such, crather than a return to issue of concentration. What the guy needs is a manager who believes in him and will enable him to show his undoubted abilities.

Agree that no one should be written off for one bad game particularly if there were reasonable excuses but the mistakes have continued at Besiktas and mixed reports as to why he/ they terminated his loan with them.
Whilst he's back at Liverpool it's no secret they don't want him. We already have a keeper in Meslier who looks far more consistent and reliable, I'd rather an experienced competitor for him such as Romero from you know where.

Put the cra-ck pipe down clueless, he should have retired immediately after that game .

It would be a Insult to meslier to even have karius in a matchday squad

Karius was at it again in turkey last season conceding howlers, terrible keeper.

Would question the player if he doesnt, looking at the standard of the league there in, surely a loan to a div 1 would of been better.

Probably not good enough like most of Orta's flops for the future.

Alf - any chance you could stop moaning for a while. Try a bit of positivity about our great club - including Victor Orta.

Most of the rest of my life has been falling apart around my ears for the last two and a half years, yet for the most part I've managed to remain positive about Leeds, and surely even you would agree that we now have a great deal to be happy about. Much of that would not have been achieved without Marcelo Bielsa, and who's idea was it to try bringing him to Leeds.

Congratulations to Pablo on his PFA Player of the Month award. And throughly deserved too. What a great moment when he led us out at Derby, you could tell he was so proud. Top Man!

Just a thought and no doubt slightly contentious

Rather than ( some of the ) Brentford players
' bottling it '
perhaps the BMW strike force towards tbe very end of tbe season at the final crunch games didn't try quite so hard to score and get Brentford promoted with all the transfer speculation BMW are receiving ; much preferring transfers and far bigger lucrative salaries and signing on fees to bigger EPL clubs which will be much easier to facilitate now that Brentford are not going up.

Either way is there any Brentford player you would want Leeds to sign?

I would hope Leeds can sign Ollie Watkins.

Viduka, have to admit, I had started having similar thoughts myself, really heads being turned etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 15:53:01
Indeed Clue . I firmlysm strongly believe this head turning is exactly what happened to these Brentford players.

4 or 5 Brentford players will now fully expect to be playing in the EPL this forthcoming season playing for bigger clubs than Brentford

I alsp expect that the renowned ' team player ' Pontus Jansson may jump the Brentford ship too but Pontus will still be in the Championship ( just with another championship club) as that is his level and standard.

Media today stating Leeds pushing for Benrahma quotes of £25 million fee

Also I hear from another another source that Ollie Watkin has an £18 million release clause

I would be delighted with either but slight preference for Ollie Watkin.

Watkins for me at 18 mill is the one.
Was also impressed with Rico Henry, would love a good attacking left back like him.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 17:47:56
It didn't even have to be a conscious drop-off in effort, could easily have been just a loss of focus.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 00:12:52
Viduka, could be something in that, must be hard hearing your name as transfer opens.
I rate a few of 🐝 players and would love David Raya, Rico Henry and Benrama.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2020 07:32:28
Can't see us getting Watkins, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa both also looking at him, think we have more chance with the forward from Celtic. Could ignite our team like when we sign Viduka from them.

Just read an interesting thought? With Carlos moving on it was mooted that the U23s coaching role could be filled by Pablo. Maybe not full time at first but as the years catch up with him he would be ideal to pass his knowledge and skill on to the new blood coming in. Surely there are are few better versed than Pablo on the ways of Bielsaball and it would be a crying shame to lose any of that.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2020 13:04:58
Defo would give him a go if he has done his coaching badges. The only barrier to this initially would be his stated desire to finish his playing career at the club he part owns, in Spain?

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 14:04:19
I’m sure he will want to coach. His Spanish team has been promoted to la liga 2, so getting close to the point he could return and play.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 15:28:35
As Bright says, he has said he wishes to end his career at CD Castellon, something he repeated as recently as this May - so probably not an option for the moment. Maybe the Club has something lined up on the coaching side as an option for Berardi. Not as great a player as Pablo, but Corberan himself never really had a senior playing career, starting his coaching journey aged 23.

05 Aug 2020 11:26:50
Everytime I read of Championship players we are linked with I invariably see the names of several mid table dross teams sniffing around. Surely these players would prefer to play for a team with a future than spend the seasons calculating how many points are needed for safety.

05 Aug 2020 16:15:10

Congratulations Fulham, commiserations Brentford. The game looked like it was played between two teams who could not be split over a season. Over 120 minutes I think Fulham just shaved it with the right tactics at the right time. Having been there ourselves you have to feel for Brentford and their fans. Let's hope they, sell a few stars, re-group and go again next season.
Do not change your approach because over a season you were probably the second best footballing team in the division.

I wanted Brentford to lose, simply because of their Gobby manager. They had their chances, and THEY bottled it. Pleased for Scott Parker, as he shows a lot more class than many ex top class footballers who are now managers!

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 13:43:02
Agree bright about parker. Like his style and class.
He pulled Fulham through when they looked ready for the taking. Good on him and them. Well done.
Gobby brentford won’t see such dizzy heights ever again. Gone and soon forgotten.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 15:03:37
Emiliano Marcondes did Parker's pep talk for him when he did that ridiculous interview, straight out of Frank's copy book. Saying Brentford were favourites and that Fulham were fearing them, with Fulham having lost to them twice during the season without scoring.

Maybe the lovely lady who made soup for Bielsa could bake a sizable 'humble pie' to be sent down to the Brentford Community Stadium, gift-wrapped and marked 'To be opened 12 September'

Classic Clue 😂😂😂.

05 Aug 2020 07:45:56
Tough on either side in a playoff final, but a few brentford players should be in prem and would love a few of them with Leeds.
I know he out of position for first Fulham goal but I would buy GK David Raya, he only 25y/ o and I think he a quality keeper
I would also go for LB ( Rico Henry) , gets forward well.
Finally, need to try buy Benrahma, a quality player.
Can someone send message to Orta for me.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2020 11:05:34
Before you send it can I add, Ethan Pinnock, to the list. Haven't seen all that much of him last season but last night he really impressed me.

Benrama never tracked back, didn't tackle and up against better defenders will struggle, IMO, his fee will be a joke.

Agree4 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 11:22:18
Yes Richie, IF we buy him him he will light up the reserves for a few months 'til Bielsa trains him to play his way, and track back!

Don’t believe for one second that we would be signing Danny Rose, Zlatan or any other, (passed his sell by date once big time) , player. I don’t think it’s in Bielsa’s chemistry to go down that road. On a personal note I think Rose has too many outside football issues to be concentrating on playing his best football.
Orta has already admitted that bringing in new players is going to be very challenging due to the virus, I think this is mostly true however, it could be a smokescreen due to our past history but not forgetting we were under the constraints of FFP in the Championship.
Just hope there are at least a couple of good signings and not a shed load of ”ones for the future”!
Ill be extremely surprised if Benrahma or Watkins come to Leeds.

For me three key decisions for the new year.

1. A happy Bielsa with a clear plan! This might not be as easy as people think. The last two years have had very clear goals! What is it for next year and is it attractive enough and doable for Bielsa to want to stay. Is he going to be happy being measured on keeping a team up?

2. White or White mk 2

Played in every game, massive part of the success, him or as good, crucial to get off to a fair start.

3. More surprisingly, Carlos replacement, not just an under 23 coach but link to the first team. Think Carlos was a key part of the success of the last few years. Also another bridge to a future without Bielsa as normally all his team go with him.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 10:01:28
Don’t think Carlos was a Bielsa appointment

I don’t think he’s that precious about who coaches the u23s as long as they use his plan A. That he has players from the U23s ready to play his systems

Which at this point. “hi I’m available Radz “

I honestly think MB has seen that Radz et al will give him what he asks for.

His connection with the club and fans is his biggest driving force. Nothing else. He wants to develop a club from the ground up and build

I think he has that at Leeds

I think we are witnessing something special here.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Aug 2020 10:12:10
Spanish you’re definitely right about Corrberans replacement being as effective as he was. Bielsa’s football philosophy is in developing the youth. If he can develop players like KP from a box standard championship player to a premiership, (Possibly future England) , then this is surely the way forward to success.
That’s why we possibly will not have any big name signings, but what is evident that they should go all out to capture BW. I believe he is integral to Leeds United’s future and Brighton know that.

Yes lads, can I add my thanks to Huddersfield. Agreeing to give Carlos a it of experience in charge until we come asking for him back.
