Mixture of reviews on here as always, but then that’s what makes the site so good,

Really tough day all round things to be concerned about and things to be optimistic about.

However I remain 100% positive that we are going to #get promotion done this year.

Either way it’s never dull being a Leeds fan.

Good to see a forward taking defensive duties seriously. Just a shame old barn door was at the wrong end.

We go again. One game down. And still same points in front. We never do well against Cardiff. Especially down there. Onwards and up. 💙🤍💛⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️.

Batty but pertinently Brentford have closed the gap from 11 to 8 points
and are more than capable of winning 5 or 6 in a row with a relatively easy set of fixtures except next weeks game at home to West Brom.

Brentford are tbe team to worry about more than Fulham

Next week we reasly need Brom to beat Brentford

and Leeds need to beat Fulham.

No comment on anyone at Leeds but I have watched most of the Prem live games and have noticed quite a few players with what seems like well trimmed hair?

Despite today's result being disappointing we are actually in a better position than we were a week ago.

The gap hasn't changed and there's 1 game less now for teams to catch us up with.
It does make next weeks game more important. Let's all hope Pablo is back for then as we do so much better when he plays.

Robert's to me was one of the better players but I'd want to have him available to replace Bamford with 30 to go as it seems JKA won't be doing!

21 Jun 2020 16:52:45
Roberts had plenty of the ball but was wasteful in possession.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 17:15:21
Yes I agree Notts of all the opportunities he has had to cement a place he hasn't impressed and certainly did not today.

21 Jun 2020 17:21:32
Roberts did nowt today. He will come good tho, I’m sure of that.

21 Jun 2020 18:53:09
good point one less game to be caught. that has cheered me up

funny roberts seems to devide. I rate him and thought he was our best player today. that said I can see why people think the other way about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 20:44:08
Nobody stood out today which was the issue but to me he was better than most.
Need Pablo back ASAP.

21 Jun 2020 14:27:36
Footballing tactician I am not, but; I suspect that a game of four halves with up to 5 subs stoppages is going to help our opponents, by stopping us from getting our tempo up for long enough. Further, missing chances all the time is one thing, but actually saving for the other side just sums him up. Bamfs, a grafted by all measures, but a goalscorer he is not. The club need to draw a line on his chapter in the club's history and sell him asap. Bielsa's loyalty will cost us and we need to sell Bamford and replace. We have had and sold better. He is not indespendible.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2020 14:42:36
I saw enough to be positive about our fitness and ball retention but we need to again work on our final ball as it was woeful. Teams returning from lockdown will utilise defensive tactics whilst they try and build their match fitness. Unfortunately we struggle against teams that pack defences and there were too many hopeful crosses knocked into the box. Wingers need to beat players to draw the centre backs out of position. Roberts needs to protect the ball more as he was careless with possession and Bamford need pressure from the bench in order to hit the work rate required. I just felt that we played to Cardiff's strengths with our final ball and missed a golden opportunity to put some distance between ourselves and the chasing pack however all is not lost.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 15:07:56
Roberts plays like it's a training match at times, does some goods things but not much in the final 3rd of the pitch. Bamford has frustrated us all season, sadly he has no competitor for his place at leeds, even when he did he got the nod. Bamford only hope of staying at leeds is if we don't get promotion.

21 Jun 2020 15:08:44
Well a least I don’t have to eat my hat, but still hopeful, come on Leeds let's pick it up and go again.

21 Jun 2020 17:20:33
There were a few things not quite right today but glaringly obvious was our final pass and final decision.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2020 17:20:59
Yep Leodis. Crossing, and final ball were very poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:27:04
1. No need to panic. All teams are rusty at the moment.
3. A little concerned about our reaction to the first goal, frustration set in immediately.
3. With the lack of crowds, at least we won’t have to tolerate ‘ Leeds are falling apart again. ’ Apologies if anyone has already posted that.
4. Looks like Bamford has had his haircut on the sly.
5. Cheer up everyone! Still in a very strong position.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2020 15:28:28
In relation to your 1st point Wally all teams are not rusty, as Cardiff clearly showed today, composed never flustered and logical when they had the ball . Harris tactics on his previous conquests of Leeds were again deployed to great effect today.
Another 2-3 shows like that from us and we will blow autos for sure .
Bielsa reluctance to changes is very hard to take when the stewards with their back to games know Leeds ain't going to win the particular game without a change . Jack +paddy were very poor today yet both stayed on, that is not sending out the right message that complacency will cause replacement in 1st team.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 18:26:56
Chris, this all goes back to the January transfer market, which once again we left it to late, no planning before it opened, then we picked up a player who was injured, with the hope he would get fit but never did. So bam bam is our man, MB is our manager we have to hope that he knows what he’s doing, unlike someone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 19:11:18
Jk was a head scratcher back in Jan and he remains the same now, but everything a fella can say has been said may times on here, bielsa is an enigma, won't change team, won't really play subs, so really pointless getting in a state over stuff we can't change.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:22:35
Cardiff away was always going to be a hard game regardless of when we played it. Under bielsa we only play one way and as good as we have been at times that type of performance is always in our locker. Got to hope we learn from today and don't allow it to turn into something worse. Still in a great position but can quickly turn sour, and if any team can, well as all know the story.
Got to hope we don't allow Fulham to take advantage next week, WBA got Brentford so that would be best if that ends even or maybe a WBA win.

well football is back! yes angry and dissapointed but at least football is back to fill the void. and as I have said before better to lose as leeds than win as anyone else. MOT

belisa team never going to to well against a harris cardiff type team. Least if we go up we should cope better

i think we would do better agaist city liverpool spurs and arsenal. althought burnley and sheff utd will tear us apart.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2020 14:10:19
You didn't need to play this game. You could have written the script beforehand. A lot of good possession football but:
1. Bamford appalling again in front of goal and not satisfied with that prevents team mates scoring. 2.Calamity Cooper has his all too frequent massive mistake. 3. Their keeper pulls off game saving save. 4. Final ball from everybody too frequently misplaced 5. It's Cardiff.6. We struggle against physical teams who defend in depth.
Big problem for Leeds is we haven't a decent goal scorer and we haven't anybody else who can do the job that Bamford does everywhere else but in front of goal. In fairness to the lad his overall game today was very poor as well. I was never a great fan of Tyler Roberts but he might do better as the number 9. Hernandez injured. We missed him today but his age is catching up with him all the time so maybe have to carry on without him. If we can't start to score we could miss out again in spite of the teams around us doing their best to help uds out. Is that 9 or 10 games we have lost because we couldn't score whilst being the 'better' team?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2020 14:13:55
agree with everything you said apart from Roberts I really rate him and think he will be a big player for us.

Torn about Roberts but today he wasted his chance of cementing a long run in the side. Having said that, unfortunately there were too many off their game today. Roll on Fulham.

21 Jun 2020 14:38:15
true hooksie but every team in same boat. break or not it is a worry of course and keep in mind what they did to us at leeds with ten men when the season was in proper flow so to speak.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:38:42
You’re right, it’s the first game back, but it is the impact of such a poor result and poor performance from several players that is the biggest problem, doubts set in and other teams may not be as fearful to play us. Too many things wrong about today’s performance; don’t know what to do in the final third, Coopers ability to make a mess of it, Phillips and Costa’s inability to get past the first man when throwing a cross in!
Fingers crossed for the next one that they rectify the problems.
Wish we had got the PPG promotion instead!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 15:32:59
Hooksie, thing is after having the luxury of playing last, and seeing how our closest rivals had messed up, there really should have been a better display from us today, knowing that a win would have sent us 10 clear, surely we messed up terribly today and we shouldn't sugar coat a great opportunity with condoning comments of game rustiness or not being fully fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:08:03
Dissapointed
Always thought it would be a hard game, but yes, look at the bench, no game changer, no striker, transfer window again may come back to haunt us.
Fulham won't close up shop, but the
Worry for me is our other 4 homes games, teams fighting relegation, who will be happy with a point.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2020 14:06:20
That was a painful watch lads. Bam bam a big disappointment especially that fine defending he carried out on the line again if my memory serves me right. Cardiff had played a friendly where as our boys looked sluggish . Mind ya, cut the 2 errors out and we would have got a point. Onwards and upwards to ER and Fulham . MOT.

Read a load of foolish presumptive posts on this site yesterday from various posters that if we beat Cardiff we would be as good as up some presumptive nonsense about the fat lady singing.

Please note the fat lady has tonsillitis as
Brentford could easily be this years Sheff Utd

The biggest culprits of all this are again Radz and Orta's abysmal transfer windows in again failing to sign fit strikers players who can score a load of goals our bench again ridiculously has no striker (s) no game changers. Bielsa is partly responsible for that.

Worried for the rest of the season now.

Need Pablo, luck and grit back.

I'm a LIV fan and Leeds is my 2nd fav club{enemy of my enemy is my. ha) in the country. I can't but say you're Prem standard. A joy to watch at times with those sumptuous interplay but I need to ask how is Bamford kicking a ball in White? God he's terrible. Poor timing of runs, movement is so inconsistent, pace nonexistent amongst many deficiencies. The goal bound effort he defended for Cardiff today got me swearing at my TV again. The frustration must be huge from you guys because this side deserves Prem league footie. Bielsa, wow what a manager!

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:03:31
Cheer up Baz. Still 7 points clear with a game less to play, so actually in a better position than before. Also pointless post as we didn't beat Cardiff, so no point slagging people off is there?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:07:26
But he's right danum the transfer window was a disaster signing 2 players who now have about an hour played between them.

21 Jun 2020 14:16:07
Spot on post Ughes .

Leodis' if Radz, Orta. had signed strikers/ players in tne past to 3
windows
who are natural finishers we would already be up

Lets hope for better in the next games.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:16:15
BV belisa is massively to blame more so than rads and orta. we had a striker in Nietkia doing well in prem. he should of been champ top scorer but belisa used him poorly. no points rads getting a striker i belisa cant/ won't use him?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:17:42
Indeed Wex . no debate . indisputable fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 14:39:44
BW . Eddie was not good or strong enough upfront as a lone striker so didn't fit well with our system. hence why Bielsa rarely started with him

If Orta had signed a player or 2 like or better than Roofe .
( who Bielsa started regularly) in any of the past 3 transfer windows Leeds would already be up

And BW Eddie is now benchwarming for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 17:26:03
Bamford, and a lot of others were off the pace today, and not competing. However, he has been excellent all season.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 18:55:37
that is true BV and I can see your point.

i think at this level you will not get a player who offers everything bamford offeres and is free scoring. So the answer for me was to play bamford and Nekitia but sadly belisa could not find the answer. For the type of player belisa wants up front i dotn think there is a better option than bamford (not in champ price range anyway)

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 19:10:46
Therein lies a huge problem Brighty . Bamford ' off the pace 'as you correctly say but absolutely noone on the bench to replace him
# inept transfer windows especially January ones

# 4 strikers should be in a first team squad we have just ridiculously only one.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2020 13:36:32
I have seen this game before. I know what happens. It always happens. It was never ever in doubt. Shame Bamford didn't use the CV19 break to get some practice in. Lots of talk and FA else.

What is it about Bamford and scoring goals. When he is not missing them himself he's stopping others scoring. Nice chap but terrible in front of goal. Bad mistake by Phillips for their goal but Hoillett always causes us some problems. Hope Phillips doesn't get himself sent off! Playing well enough without creating many chances except that excellent move that Bamford put an end to. Draw at best today even though we've been well on top.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2020 12:56:50
so can we go back to PPG?

in all seriousness it is hard t judge at the moment with everything that has gone on

I thought we played ok, I thought harrision and roberts were very good.

trouble is a lot of our play is wide corsses and cardiff will love that. we need to cut inside and keep ball low (and bamford needs to get the f@@k out of the way)

I am sure most of you think I will jump on Phillips. and you would be correct. of curse he is rusty and the miss placed pass and poor free kicks is understanble (although his free kicks are normally poor) however his in ability to get back, make up the ground and put in a tackle coupled with his late tackle for the yellow card sums up for me all of his short comings. bit like arsenals luiz yes the virus break is an excuse but for me it is same old same old

anyway positive thoughts. leeds to blitz them second hafl and win 1-3.

Sorry Bermo got to slightly disagree. Harrison was ok but Roberts was a disappointment sill hopefully Pablo will be back next week. Poveda whilst not turning the game around looked to have potential. I would be strongly considering giving him a run. Finally if only we had another striker, today was just another failed trial for Bamford. I would ask for JKA but just don't know what's happening with him, is he a walking sicknote or maybe just not good enough?

Today’s game there’ll be no surprises in that we’ll have about 70% possession and Cardiff even playing at home will defend, close us down as much as possible and try to catch us out on a rare counterattack. If we score in the 1st half, the game is ours, if not this could be a draw or worse. Cardiff is not a good hunting ground for us but I’m putting my money on Bamford on scoring the only goal today.

Going through the whole range of emotions this morning, nerves, excitement but really today could be anything. We could be sitting 3 points clear at the top by the end of the day or still 7 clear of 3rd place. Really can't call how we will be today, ideally come out and play our normal game but who knows. We all hope we are as fit as we've been led to believe but will the fact we have played no warm up friendlies be a masterstroke or mistake. Hopefully bielsa got it covered.

Good morning whites fans on a wet Sunday morning. We do have some advantages over here as we can go the pub to watch the football and down a few pints to calm the nerves. I'm stoked that we have got back on the field to hopefully clinch promotion sooner rather than later and to ensure that we cannot add PPG to the anti LUFC chants that resonate at some many grounds.

It does however make life as a Whites fan never dull or boring. So bring on Cardiff and a win to restart our final push. I'm sure that when the day does come that we will have a promotion party here in Sydney anyway. I wish all here all the best and hope all our hearts survive the next few weeks . 2-0 to the whites is my prediction.
