Leeds United currently lead Derby County in the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp, on loan.

Is skipp a starter in our team?

Agree0 0Disagree

15 Jun 2024 06:42:44
Would prefer him to Gruev tbh, Aus. Think Gruev has been romanticised a bit this season. Skipp is more tenacious and quicker in closing down/ getting to the player/ ball. Plus he has arguably better quality of ball retention and passing ranges as Gruev does. At minimum, it's equally comparable.

Would really be interested in a loan to buy.

Leeds United have joined the chase for out of contract Coventry City attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare.

Believable2 0Unbelievable

14 Jun 2024 05:53:04
Yes please!

CALLUM O'HARE - 26 - AM - Coventry

O'Hare has the ability to be a game-changer. A tricky and forceful dribbler that salivates at the opportunity to run at opponents and force them to make mistakes. He loves to put the opposition under duress when he has the ball at his feet. He's a keen contributor on the goals front, too, with a natural ability to crash the box. O'Hare is also a team player who will run himself into the ground for the cause, something us Leeds fans love to see. A quality passing range and the vision to match. This signing should be a no-brainer considering the Coventry man is available on a free this summer.

Would he be a starter Alf? Displace Gio?

Agree1 0Disagree

14 Jun 2024 10:36:24
Would be if gio leaves aus.

Agree0 0Disagree

14 Jun 2024 11:50:40
Gio likely staying due to the issue of the £35 million fee paid

Zero chance on Ohare . he will be picked up by a prem club. possibly Southampton.

Agree0 0Disagree

14 Jun 2024 12:31:52
Gio inverted/ inside forward onnthe right and O'Hare through the middle. DJ out left. That would be taking into account Cry and Gnonto leaving.

Would work well given Rutter is so lively in the half spaces.

Optimistic signing, but wouldn't rule it out, Baz. I tend not to talk in absolutes as anything can happen in football. Especially with how the money side of the game is played these days.

14 Jun 2024 14:05:45
Did think of that dill.
Farke has his work cut out all beit not as hard as last season.
Admire Admonsen attitude.
Hope Farke can be flexible with formation v players available.

Agree1 0Disagree

14 Jun 2024 16:21:31
Flexible not putting money on that.

Agree0 0Disagree

14 Jun 2024 22:20:56
One of Farke's major issues is his lack of versatility, so it would be a shock if that changed over the summer. But fingers crossed, eh. Would be a lovely suprise.

Agree1 0Disagree

15 Jun 2024 05:58:07
I think that this “ inflexibility” thing has been somewhat over cooked.
He had limited resources available, so used the best of what he had.
He showed a lot of flexibility, adjusting the approach and tactics for the playoff semis, and the line up, again tho, his hand was forced somewhat.
I feel we will see more flex in his approach next season, if he is able to assemble the right squad depth this summer.

Agree0 0Disagree

15 Jun 2024 09:45:18
Brighty . not sure about flexibility. Norwich fans will tell you otherwise

The key to getting promoted will be near perfect recruitment and not so much DF.

15 Jun 2024 16:59:32
Farke not utilising his subs; James, Roberts, Joseph, geldhardt, creswell, crew, when using the same old team wasn't working, shows he has a lack of flexibility.

Towards the end of the season, Summerville had been figured out, he was man marked by two defenders the majority of the time and Farke did little to change how we attack or how we play.

Remember when Rutter and Piroe were played out of position and Farke refused to change?
Call me unfair but I don't rate the guy as a manager and I think he will be gone by Xmas.

So, it looks like Ipswich want Rodon but, Daniel Levy has said that he, Rodon prefers going back to Leeds on loan while Levy would much prefer a sale, although it’s now been mentioned that we pay 6.5M up front and on completion of promotion we pay a further 6.5M for him, Levy is a tough negotiator though. It’s taken a whole new angle now due to Summerville saying he’s not looking to leave Leeds and Wober is being lined up as a make shift in any deal. Lots of ifs and buts yet gents. 🤷🤷.

Realism

100% Summerville will be sold this summer. fee hopefully £35 million plus

Rodon coming back to Leeds ain't happening.

Risky gamble bazzy boy.
If Rodon wants to come back I’m pretty sure we would go for the 6.5 6.5.
But agree with Jimmy although I’m expecting 40 plus if I’m honest.

Aus. I hope I am wrong and JR is a Leeds player next season. but . I won't be.

Agree0 0Disagree

14 Jun 2024 16:08:06
Do you think we will sign anyone then Baz? I mean I’m intrigued to know if we will sign anyone seeing as though any player that’s mentioned is just cast aside with no chance to zero chance of putting pen to paper! I’m thinking maybe we should just pack up, call it a day and find another team to support! 🤷🤷.

Agree0 0Disagree

15 Jun 2024 06:01:46
I also don’t think we will get Rodon. We do talk about players not being committed to the cause; if he’s only interested in another loan, then what does that tell us about him? Many clamouring for Cressy to get an opportunity, but JR would be the brick wall to that. I’d prefer Wobs and Pasc anyway, with Cressy as backup, plus another one at least. There’s also a big lad from the 21’s who looks handy, tho I forget his name, again! 🤦🏼🤯.

And think you are referring to either Mullen or Monteiro ( CBs in 21s)

Leeds are being linked with Karamoko Dembele, who shone for Blackpool last season.

I recently scouted him for the potential EFL signings article. For those that missed it here's a quick breakdown of what he can add to our squad:

KARAMOKO DEMBELE 21 - AM - Stade Brest

"Dembele is a diminutive talent and former England youth wonderkid excelling at League 1 club Blackpool, on loan from Stade Brestois. Dembele is incredibly press resistant with exceptional ball control. The term 'velcro feet' springs to mind. Dembele is the owner of a cultured left foot that can thread a pass through the eye of a needle. For his short stature he also plays well into the physical aspects of the game, showing decent strength with his back to goal. While Dembele wouldn't be a like for like replacement for Giorginio Rutter style-wise, he has played that 10 role brilliantly this season and would offer a different dynamic to Rutter, whilst also appearing to be a better decision maker with his final balls. Something which has hurt Rutter at points this season.

Demebele is destined for good things after kickstarting his career once again. A pure talent who looks to take real joy in playing football. The 21-year-old would fit in effortlessly into a top EFL Championship team and Leeds would be smart to show interest this summer, should Brest want to cash in on the youngster. "

If Rutter stays, which I truly hope he does, then there would still be a place for Dembele as his versatility is also a massive asset. He's more than capable of playing off the right or a bit deeper in a progressive, playmaking CM role.

A very intriguing link, which hopefully has some veracity to it.

De-Cordova Reid at Fulham is allegedly on our radar. I have always rated him. If we lose Gnonto, he could do a job for us. Anyone agree?

Believable1 1Unbelievable

Totally. He can play in many positions and gets goals. I actually like him at RB especially at championship level.

Feath, Cork, yep. definitely would be a very good, astute signing. Astute as he will be out of contract, but definitely fits the bill based on what Marathe and Farke want.
Yes, he’s 31, but he can definitely do another 3 years.

Gruev to Dortmund? £30m rumoured? Prem teams sniffing around? Bite their hands off, we'll have gray and amps back in midfield next season. Gruev did superb after Xmas on the run, thanks for the memories.
Just hope it doesn't mean we're getting Kalvin back.

Believable1 1Unbelievable

04 Jun 2024 20:49:02
Where you hear £30m, mate? Haven't read a number in any of the articles I've read. And if £30m I'd drive him to LBA myself 🤣.

Club are asking for 15-20m to consider selling him. Even at 20m, I would expect there to be add ons; still young, still a lot of potential there to go on to bugger and better things, based on his break through form, not when he was told to slow things down.

Not sure about letting him go. Was very good for a while. Has got heaps of potential and as you say bright still young. Would have to be 20 plus. Could get decent enough replacement for 20.

09 Jun 2024 11:41:34
Gruev is solid in midfield, plays smart, fast football, is accurate with passes, even those at angles Jimmy White would wince at, and is often a solid wall stopping their attackers.

Kamara on the other hand.

Dortmund want Gruev, and the club have already turned down PL Club offers for him, reportedly.

Wouldn't be overly upset if we got 10m for him. Think he's a bit slow for a DM.

05 Jun 2024 07:14:46
He looks slow, but covers the first 5yards very quickly, which makes him effective imo, unless having to chase DJ in training!

Exactly Bright. Likes of Batty Makele and Jorginho at arsenal not exactly lightening but were quick to the first ball.
Apart from a bad day at rangers Gruev had a good season.

Leeds are hopeful of bringing Ben Johnson to Elland Rd this summer. Others clubs are in talks with Ben Johnson as well. Such as Rangers and Southampton, Leeds are willing to match the players wage demands of 50 to 60K a week.

Believable3 1Unbelievable

03 Jun 2024 20:17:30
I read today we can't afford his wages, Alf. Would be a good signing if we could get him. Unlikely imo.

Agree2 1Disagree

04 Jun 2024 05:38:10
Reportedly also interest from Serie A in him?
Would be a great signing I think, but those wages are steep! Might suggest we are definitely losing some of the dead wood wages? Hopefully!

Leeds have reportedly sent scouts to watch Jarne Steuckers.

Looks like he could be lined up as a replacement for Gnonto/ Summerville.

He bagged 6 goals in the Belgian Pro League last season. Lots of potenti.

I've watched him. He's great going forward. Pretty tricky left peg on him. He's a bit lazy defensively, though.
