Sinni leaving was a total kick in the you know what's last night but once again just highlights that EPL and money are the only things that matters in football these days and there really is no such thing as a big club or loyalty any longer. We have been brutally bullied by little Bournemouth and that hurts because we're meant to be a big club, right? Thing is we're EFL today and that's the only thing that matters, if City or that small club in Salford (not our recent conquerors) were in EFL they too could get bullied by let's say Preston if they made it to EPL, so although it's so painful to us as Leeds fans to take we just have accept this is the ugly side of football today ?.

Pretty much spot on we’ve been.
What’s gone is gone. We will be the bullies again soon.
Let’s hope the buys and farke work their magic quickly.
Let’s also hope Everton and Bournemouth join luton come season end.

Farke says we have a plan and all will come good in the medium/ long term, I just hope he's right. We currently have the whole of England and much of Europe sniggering at 'little' Leeds. Feyenoord want a play for free that we are still paying them installments on, Hoffenheim tried the same thing. 100m of players that we're still paying installments on are plying their (admittedly not very good) trade elsewhere. The mighty Bournemouth even take the mick out of us, oh you want a player, don't think so, we'll have him, you've got no chance against us, and whilst we're at it we'll give one of your players a step up too. Even that carcrash called Everton who have fiddled FFP seem more attractive than us. We are Leeds United apparently, except the United part is painfully missing and should be replaced with Circus. I trust Farke, I like him, and hope his plan comes to fruition but right now I'm hurting.

WBTI Very good post.

2.) 16 Aug 2023 08:14:20
Think that goes for nearly all on here as well.

3.) 16 Aug 2023 08:30:45
I share your pain WBTI!

We will come through this - I know it feels very bleak right now but I have a lot more faith in the new owners given their sporting credentials, plus look at some of the chancers we've had as owners over the past few years, I'd much rather this lot be running the shop.

It is going to take time though and we will be tested, and probably held up to ridicule by all other clubs and their supporters - however, revenge is a dish best served cold and we will rise again (but I'm afraid it just might not be this season, might not even be this Friday either:)

Regardless of whose in charge, who the players are (or aren't at the moment! ) , how many others laugh at us, Leeds United needs us now more than ever and I always get the impression that no one on this site or the faithful that turn up week in, week out are about to stop loving this club, MOT everyone:)

4.) 16 Aug 2023 10:48:30
Well WBTI, as your name suggests we are no strangers to such a situation, we have even faced worse. Who cares what others think, what they don't understand, and never will, is that We Are Leeds, we thrive on adversity, we suck it up and spit it back. This is why they mock so, because, really, they are jealous of the spirit that they simply don't have. UTWDTP.

5.) 16 Aug 2023 13:08:55
Cheers Vid. ??????✊?.

6.) 16 Aug 2023 14:17:37
Don't care what other fans think of us Vid, as you say we've had worse situations and actually enjoy the stick others give us because we're Leeds and worthwhile bothering with. I'm more concerned about other clubs directors taking it out of us, they see us as vulnerable and are just preying on us, bullying us even. That's what hurts, and also the fact we're not united in any way shape or form, no-one seems to want to be there, certainly not the mercenaries and this is crippling us right now, but still I trust in Farke/ 49ers to turn this mess around MOT.

13 Aug 2023 10:45:24
I think (hope) 49ers and Farke will succeed eventually for us and I'm trying with great difficulty to remain positive. 6 years ago we were in Championship with Monk managing us, if we had got 49ers and Farke on board then would we have been in any worse position than we are now? I don't think so, therefore we basically haven't moved forward as a club since. All the perceived good early work of Radz, the thrills and positivity of Bielsa all gone, literally nothing but memories to show for them. I think 49ers will have a better long term strategy, they need to, as we cannot continue with this Championship mentality for much longer because we could well end up losing our status as a big club. I still think (some tell me I'm delusional) that we are a big club, but massive support alone doesn't make you a big club these days and unless we change our approach we will no longer be considered one and may never find our way back. I just pray we've finally landed the right owners worthy of this club.

I agree with all of the above, we are a shadow of where we were when in the 1st year in the PL and at this moment in time I can't see anything positive other than Farke. He is trying to fight Tyson Fury with a broken hand and using poor training equipment. On a positive note, that's where Rocky started, wearing a grey tracksuit, punching hanging meat in an on freezer with the penguin as a manager. Then fast forward a short space of time he beat Apollo Creed, Dolph Lundren, and a few more besides. Based on the Rocky theme, we have the penguin in Farke and Adrian ( in a Sylvester Stallone voice) are the fans.
So to some up my thoughts, keep punching the meat and some amazing end result will come. MOT.

2.) 13 Aug 2023 11:54:56
Great post WBTI! ???.

3.) 13 Aug 2023 12:00:09
Rocky is a made up story dougie. Like spiderman. It's unlikely that our squad will be bitten by radioactive spiders and develop superhuman powers.

4.) 13 Aug 2023 12:29:47
Indeed Dougie

Clubber Lang the baddest of all zee bad men ?

But reality is what Alf said all the rags to riches analogies are just for films . Baggies beat us and the alarm bells will be fairly loud

There needs to be signings tomorrow.

5.) 13 Aug 2023 12:58:27
As I said CC and Alf, keep punching the meat like Rocky and i am sure there will be a happy ending for us all.

6.) 13 Aug 2023 13:04:49
Everytime I beat the meat there is a happy ending so it makes sense to me dougie ?.

I'm normally quite upbeat about Leeds and very positive, but I'm already worried about this season. Lose tomorrow and the mood around the place will be very dark. I get the window is still open, but by the time we get anyone in (if we even do) and up to speed our chances of promotion could already be over. I hope that the quality we still have will see us through, but a few defeats will hurt us so much. The Orta / Radz legacy might taint this club for years to come, first year is always the optimum year to bounce back and those clowns have severely hamstrung us by not getting any money back on near £100m outlay over the past 3 years. Don't think 49ers are to blame as although I think they want to spend they probably can't because of tweedle dumb and dumber. Hope my gloom lifts soon (with a thumping win on Sunday) and my positivity returns, but I really think Sunday / start of this season could define our destiny for the next few years.

Agree wbti.
Starting the season without a striker is amateurish.
Will cost us.
My 8th pred looking optimistic.

2.) 05 Aug 2023 08:49:44
Promotion in the Championship is NOT decided so early. Even the bottom club at Christmas could still be promoted. Will be interesting to see how we do against real opponents tomorrow but not the be all and end all.

3.) 05 Aug 2023 09:23:33
Well said Alf it’s a long season.

I get the want to buy but I’m happy to stick with youth. Yes I want a cb but I want cresswell and struijk to play. Yes I want a cm but I want game time for Jamie and grey the wonder kid. Same with Perkins up front

Poveda has looked like a new singing and only preseason but I think this will be his year.

Plus is we keep Adams sini Harrison
And Summerville that’s a lot of talent going forward … plus we got shacks who I really rate and he had a good season at my beloved millwall.

4.) 05 Aug 2023 09:51:13
With the resources we have I still predict top half finish.
PS But we still need a few more wingers!

5.) 05 Aug 2023 09:52:07
Abti 100%agree if we do get someone he will be on the bench for weeks getting used to how Leeds play and all that ?.

6.) 05 Aug 2023 10:00:35
Strange to agree with all above but let's be honest, with the exception of man city, who has ever won anything without a proper striker, we have let so many go out on loan (and good riddance) but what have we saved on wages 2 / 3 million a week I have no idea but if it is 2 million most have been gone 3 or 4 weeks surely we could have bought a decent striker using wages saved and add a bit which we will get back over the coming weeks. Ampadu good buy, darlow good buy for the money but every article I see except piroe who wants to go to Italy all we are interested in are defenders or midfield. Unless we get a striker we will be playing catch-up and as we need to get to the pl straight away that is not a good place to be, who wants to be lower half of the table at Christmas, I don't, DF is the man to do it in my opinion and I support him totally but it is no good having patience and being left behind. 3 strikers injured is really poor timing and no one's fault but we knew Bamford is prone, Rutter never a CF and i'm not even going to talk about number, we are as normal our own worst enemy and I fear promotion will not be ours except playoffs I hope I am totally wrong and you can all bawl me out but these are my thoughts but please make me regret my words and get promoted.

7.) 05 Aug 2023 10:13:13
Was looking at the fixtures for the weekend after last nights result. The red stripes scraped past a newly promoted L1 side. Nowt impressive really.
None of the other other teams are anything special (tho if Vardy stays fit, he could have a field day, again! ) .
If the 40ers manage to pull their numerous collective fingers out, which I still expect them to do, we have nowt to fear in this league. #staypositive.

8.) 05 Aug 2023 10:35:53
Can also be a curse if you start with a big win. A defeat or draw could force us into the extra signings that we need. A win could offer complacency. Personally believe we will have enough to propel us straight back up but I also thought we had too much to go down so what do I know?

9.) 05 Aug 2023 10:58:54
The first few games of a 46 game season don't define a season.

I remain confident that the team will build momentum throughout the season (whether we start well or not) , as Farke's influence on the team takes effect and as new/ effective players (better than previously because Farke will not accept dross) join the squad.

10.) 05 Aug 2023 11:56:32
Brightwhite we haven’t played yet.

11.) 05 Aug 2023 12:08:23
Sinistera plays upfront for Columbia doesn’t he? Is he fit now?

12.) 05 Aug 2023 15:32:41
Funny leodis.

13.) 06 Aug 2023 01:19:30
Good posts Bermo, Brighty and Alf! Gonto, Sini, James, Summerville, Geldhert all capable of scoring goals in the short term as are, Coops, Ayling and Pascal in other ways. Team still has goals in it, if we create the opportunities. The injuries have gone at the best time, when we can still do something about it!

Good work by the club agreeing reciprocal ticket prices for away fans at lower rates. This only agreed with Cardiff so far, nut looking to extend to other clubs. With the disparity between our following and those of other clubs it'll cost us say 15k in lost revenue per match, but the opposition will lose about 50k due to us always being sold out. Costs Leeds a little bit but saves our loyal (massive) fanbase a decent amount over a season. Great work chaps ?.

With the talent in that squad I'm sure you wouldn't have to put all your eggs on one basket. Sinni, Rutter Willy, Jack and Dennis would probably all get 10 + each.

Totally agree Jungle regarding our fanbase and what it means to be Leeds. I'm not from Leeds myself but since I was 6 and started supporting Leeds, supporting anyone else was just not an option, every Leeds fan I know is exactly the same. The bond our fans have with this club is truly unique.

Thanks Clue, I suspected it was something along those lines, appreciate your clarification. This whole Saudi thing just stinks, can't blame the players (although on a moral ground its not good) but this could seriously disrupt the landscape of football as we know it.
