Slight change of topic, this international break which has already been pointed out is ridiculously long, to justify three weeks out of the league’s season is hard to do.
Even this early in the season there could be all sorts of consequences and impacts that that could hit teams with a negative or positive outcome.
Momentum shifts from teams that are doing well or bad, with four international games there could be a whole host of new injuries with certain players possibly trying to make an impact to their international careers and potentially overstretching their normal abilities.
Am I imagining too much from this or is it just me missing Leeds play when the season has only just got started ?

As i said below, I think its a complete joke. No one is interested in these pointless, minor tournaments, or the friendlies scattered around. Players withdrawing with minor injuries shows their priorities.
Like you say, the impact that this may have on us in particular concerns me more than yesterday's draw!
Clubs need to unite against them. They offer no value to anyone other than the Associations!

I'll give you a quiz Baz.

There's a rule though - you have to be 'fairly' realistic, in other words, although we would all have liked to sign a Messi or Mbappe, at the time we simply couldn't have afforded them.

But I would have lurved Alan Shearer from Saints in summer 1992 ( instead he went to Blackburn for £3.3 million)
Instead of Leeds spending £2million on David Rocastle and £1 million on Scott Sellars we potentially could have used that £3 million to sign Shearer
Leeds United were League Champions and in the European Cup...we needed a long term replacement for Lee Chapman

I'm sure Arsenal expected to beat Brighton, and Forest to Coventry, But this is Football. We had an off day, it happens. As irritating as it is to not beat palace, we didn't play great but we still took a point from the game. Maybe we shouldn't bother playing Arsenal after the break and just give them the 3 points.

Credit where its due; Palace were very good vs what they've displayed so far in the EPL, and looked better still because we were off it. They still couldn't beat us tho! Unbeaten, sitting pretty in 5th, looking strong defensively.
My biggest concern, personally, is the impact this utterly ridiculous, brinking on scandalous, international break has on us!

It was a disappointing afternoon, that's for sure. Unfortunately quite a few didn't turn up at all. Thankfully the defence did in the main.
I know after the Newcastle game, there was a lot of expectation, but Palace are no mugs and are a hard working solid team. They've picked up 3 trophies in the last 12 months.
In my view, the way we were playing [not], I was fully expecting a defeat and on another day, e. g. last season, that was exactly the game we would have lost.
Perversely, I think had their goal stood, we might have picked up in the last 30 minutes and still got a draw, had that been the case, the comments this morning might have been a bit different, even though it would still be 2 points dropped.
One our "esteemed" posters said we had to get 4 points from our two home games, we did that.
I expect us to be a lot better v Arsenal.

Out net spend is minimal
The promoted teams look like they could
Be competitive
The teams who are struggling like spurs, palace and Fulham no doubt will get much better we shouldn't get carried away with the Newcastle win or too despondent with today's poor show.

Doesn't matter what you remember, in those days the playing field was a lot more level than it is now, we are playing up hill into the wind and are doing well.
All we can do is barrow in more soil every year to try and level things up but it will take a long time.

Still very much of the view that mid table would be an excellent position for us.
Today shows so much. There are positives. Muha looked excellent I thought and Trafford too, thought Trafford only had one shot of note to really deal with. Apart from that free kick and disallowed goal they didn't create much clear cut.
Very few chances for Dom. One he could have stuck away.
I don't like that we didn't play well and it is two points dropped. But I do like that we were able to get something despite not playing well. Better teams would have beaten us today but even playing poorly we made ourselves hard to beat. Unbeaten in five, never conceded more than one in the other games and we've played two of the form setters in Brentford and Brighton. That start honestly gets a very solid 7.5-8/10 for me.

Two draws against Brentford and Brighton and an emphatic win against Newcastle which delighted us all doesn't make us contenders for European football and certainly not the Premiership title !
Canada is right we haven't earned anything yet to deserve such claims it's totally ridiculous.
There is a very loose claim judging by our confident start and no loses that if we do continue on this trajectory there might be a European spot which is obtainable but to be making such claims this early in the season is a little fanciful I feel.
Of course dream and wish for great things to happen to our club this season but if it doesn't, don't be surprised and then hold the club responsible for not achieving such wild expectations.
That's what the media are already building us up for that suggesting that we might achieve European football this season knowing they can smash us down if things go the other way. I'm definitely am not going to be so gullible to fall for that.
All fixtures in this league are tough, there are no kind ones. For me, I'll be waiting until the end of this year to see how this season can pan out for us. A few injuries to key players could turn our good start into a very difficult one, that's football, nothing is a given.

Wharton ran the show yesterday,best player on field, involved in everything.
Dan James & Brendan still being used highlights how our squad is still in need of improvement.
Both were so poor yesterday,so many fans around me were up in arms with their displays.
Overall we were very lucky to take a point

Where as the aforementioned duo have between them umpteen chances at showing us how poor they are , both were brought on to try change things ,both failed miserably again .

Stach is also coming back from a particularly nasty injury, which meant he didn't kick a ball at all during the break, also finding walking difficult, and at his own admission, a bit of a psychological block due to the positioning of it. He does have credit in the bank, for sure, but will also get back to his peak soon!

On reflection I feel that we were lucky to end that game with a point in the bag.
I didn't expect the same intensity as Monday night where we fired on all cylinders. This was far too passive to create a win, but credit to Palace they did a very good job in their defensive duties as well as attack.
You can't really complain with the substitutions, Aaronson, and James don't have that effect in my opinion, Wilson was injured and Bohoya is not ready but great that he got a sniff of a intro to Elland rd.
We will see more of this young lad that I am sure of.
Overall it's a great start to the season and this Leeds fan is a happy bunny, there will be some disgruntled Leeds fans that will expect more but i'm in no doubt we have kick started our season in a very positive manner.

I don't know that he's not ready Cork but I do trust the coaching staff in making the right decisions, they seem to be getting things on track which no Leeds fan can deny.
As I've said some of us fans will demand more, whether that is feasible ie: more signings that is anyone's guess as we will never know.
I don't personally get the instant success effect without putting in the work time to perhaps realistically deserve a very elevated position in the league.
I think any non Leeds fan would think we are doing very well considering this is only our second season in the Premiership.
I do find there is a certain amount of entitlement that does come from some Leeds fans and thats their choice.
I'm still very confident barring a lot of injuries we are still going to surprise a lot of people this season, there could be an opportunity of scrapping a European spot but for me that's not the objective for this season.

You're right Canada. He took a throw in to a Leeds player, got fouled with a booking for the defender on his first run down the wing and went past two Palace players in midfield with his next touch if the ball.
He's an unknown quantity but given the state of the game Farke was happy to send him on rather than more defensive options. Hopefully he'll be given a chance because he's bloody quick and defenders hate pace.

I think we are all Leeds fan and don't expect to win every game ever the best teams who spend millions can get turned over like Arsenal did but they turned up and played we turned up and didn't no shot on goal for over 57 minutes at a home is just crazy however we didn't lose Farkey wasn't happy I do expect to see a team fight we didn't you can disagree but that's my opinion.

Was actually encouraged by the bahoya cameo. Farke does rate him enough to try him for 2 minutes in a meaningful game vs. 5 minutes at 4-1 up.
He tried a through ball that was closer to coming off than a lot I saw in the second half. Keep the faith. If he doesn't go with France U21s he gets more time learning the system.
Didn't enjoy Dan James performance. Very little I thought from him.

Naff all from DJ in fact, Ealing. But the same can be said for a few of the big name starters too. It won't be the last "off day" we see from the team this season.
Bahoya will have his part to play this season, I'm confident of that. He's one player who will probably benefit from this daft international break!
