Be interesting to see whether DF has utilised the international break to improve us from Sunday onwards?

Many of our players have been on fully occupied on international duty but for all epl coaches these breaks are an opportunity to forensically assess previous results, dire performances.

I would hope (genuinely) that Daniel has some definitive ideas, changes from our previous two performances, where quite frankly the players did not honour the shirt.

Ever the optimist, I’m sincerely hoping to see a change in mindset from both the players and coaching staff alike.

Home games are so precious, however, they’re also a potential poison chalice if we witness yet another inept performance from our players and coaching staff, it will turn ugly very quickly.

We need to start like the first twenty minutes against West Ham at home and maintain it throughout with passion, fire, aggression attacking intent nothing less will suffice from now on.

I fear BA being announced in the starting line up will not inspire our home supporters, we will see.

It would be nice if Farke used this free time to analyse and watch the first 11 games.
He should know where and why it went wrong. Something changed. It could be a bit of both manager and players. But as some are always quick to point out, he sees them everyday so should know and see what’s changed.

Something of the drop points were unfortunate. But as you say since leading spam it’s gone pear shaped more and more every game.
I’d be flabbergasted if we put in a good performance v villa win lose or draw. A good performance is enough. But can’t see it. Hope I’m wrong.

BA 1st name on sheet for some unknown reason, no way in hell will he be dropped, love to know the real reason why. Shame really he is without doubt one of the fittest players I have seen, but if only he could score, assist, pass and stay upright.

Well Bri that is true, very fit, but then we have lots of players who can run about, what we need are players that can create and score. The number of times he loses possession and the variety of how he does is really quite impressive.

Add to that losing forward momentum by negative passing and simply not being physical enough again just begs the question of why he is on the pitch!

Just wondering how the Wales game tonight might affect the confidence of our Welsh team players, Rodon, Ampadu and James.
It can’t go without mentioning when they lost, I think it was the euro qualification in March 24’ their form dropped when we were gunning for promotion, especially James who missed their penalty.

On the subject of Wales, will Leeds be having a second go at trying to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham in the January transfer window?

I think most Leeds fans will be screaming for a striker but I don’t think we’ll be in the market for both striker and winger for obvious financial reasons.
Due to our injury depleted wingers this season, in my opinion it would be way too risky to not invest in a winger.
Harry Wilson would appear to be the likelier target I imagine in January.

Ramazani hasn’t played enough football for a long time, plus there’s his recent injury.
I seriously doubt he will be of any use to us in the Premiership.
I’m beginning to believe he was a poor buy in the transfer market, I think they hoped he would push on and develop into a better player but it seems he has remained static.

I agree Aus, the only glimmer of hope I can see for Dan James as he has been below Premiership standards with us and other clubs, is that he has visibly improved his game in the last two seasons, but that was in the Championship.
Of course also his injuries can be a issue.

MoT Farke had Tanaka on the bench for the first 10 or so games last season with Ampadu and Gruev as his first choice midfield pairing, then they both got crocked together, and Tanaka and Rothwell played every game for a couple of months. If sonething similar were to happen this season selling Tanaka would turn out to be a big mistake.

Like Craig Bellamy said after the Wales game I'd like to see all the home nations go to the World Cup, but sadly Northern Ireland are out now, and Wales still have work to do.

Such a shame we didn’t nick Wilson on deadline day, he looked fantastic last night, admittedly it was against very poor opposition but he has a mercurial left foot and would be a significant improvement on what we currently have.

Zero chance unfortunately based on his recent performances for club and country.

Lazy? Really surprised and wasn’t aware Ed, to be honest, I’ve seen very little of him other than highlights which obviously does not provide the full picture.

But placing a ball where he aims it makes him an attractive player for our team just now, as we are particularly weak with dead ball situations.

{Ed001's Note - I have watched him since he was in Liverpool's academy, he doesn't work hard at all. You are right though, his dead balls are excellent. If only he actually put the graft in, he would have had a chance of making it at Liverpool. It is sad that he has learnt nothing. If you could get work rate out of him, then he would be a very useful player for you, but I have a feeling you would just end up frustrated in 9 games and then love him for the 1 he provides something brilliant, then back to being frustrated by him!}

I read of our interest in Troy Parrot et al however if we do employ a new striker it will be wasted unless our style of play changes. Our ethos now seems to be Defend! Do not give a goal away and hope we can sneak one somehow.

Years since I posted on this site but still read every day. My view is that we have performed well (or well enough) every home game - Everton, Newcastle, Bournemouth, spurs, wet span - 1.6 points per game - I’m happy with the performances and results. But away we have been dire (Fulham and wolves were ok but the rest, urgh) . 0.5 points per game. Problem is 3 of last 4 have been away and by the time we play Villa it will have been a month since a home game so no wonder we all feel s***e.

So the litmus test for me is Villa - if we come out roaring and fighting then I am still prepared to believe and to back DF. I we put in a limp and insipid performance then I will reluctantly just the Farke out camp as we can’t have our away malaise affecting home form.

And if we do put in a performance against Villa the follow on point is why we are so poor away. Surely it is just 11 blokes, a ball and a patch of grass so we do we set up with such a different mindset - go out isnd play n the same way away from home.

That’s it from me. Roll on Sunday so we can’t put the last month of away matches behind us.

My views are, and I stand by this, if Farke leads us out at villa, we are relegated.

He should have gone a long time ago and if he starts arronson over James or Gnonto then I would sack him regardless of result.

Welcome back Matt, I agree with all of your post. I do feel also at this home game against Villa, a big effort and performance is required. I believe most fans can deal with a loss, it’s just the performance and the players being braver than they have shown to be at most of our away games especially.

The Brighton and Forest games were difficult to stomach in the sense of having more of a ago at our opponents instead of being to frightened to make a mistake.

It does feel a very long time since we last played at Elland rd, hopefully Farke and his players can put up a display worthy of a Leeds United team in the Premiership.

It's a thumbs up from me for that Matt. Villa will be tough, but I think we can get sonething from that game ahead of 3 where we'll likely get diddly s##t. Watched DJ playing for Wales tonight, and whilst it was only against Lichtenstein, he did look more like the DJ of old.

Let's hope he plays instead of Baracus and gives the Villa full back s hard time. 👍.
