Whilst Alf's earlier post was clearly erroneous, it's quite likely that now that the Brandt deal has fallen through, we'll be looking elsewhere for a new AM/No10. I don't know how seriously we were considering Schmid back in January, if at all, but it's possible that our interest may now have been rekindled, unbeknown to us. Only time will tell, so watch this space.

If we really get £9m for him, that, + Struijk £18-20m depending on reports, + Schmidt 2.5m more or less, is net what we spent for Muharemovic.

Swapping two players no longer useful for us, and getting younger, and perhaps even better with Muharemovic vs. Struijk, is a seriously good deal.

All hinges on that Gelhardt deal coming to fruition for the stated funds ofc.

The only fly in the ointment there is that the £18-20M we got for Struijk was counted against the Premier League PSR (Profitability and Sustainability Rules) for 2025/6, whereas the £34M for Muharemovic will be counted against the SCR (Squad Cost Ratio) allowance for 2026/7, so we can't set one off against the other.
