Throwing out a question for additions next season.
In the very likely scenario we stay up up, what positions would you like addressed?
For me it's a striker, a central attacking midfielder, left winger (DJ too injured for me) , left back cover for Gabby and a new goalkeeper (Perri or Darlow as cover) .
Thoughts?

25 Apr 2026 08:42:23
Agree with all that, Dougie, with ultra focus and money on striker and attacking mid. James needs replacing. Cover for Gabby, as you say. I'd sell Perri but give Darlow a chance. He has done pretty well thus far.

25 Apr 2026 11:16:21
Dougie, you say left winger and then mention DJ, who is a right winger. I think we're better placed on the left with Okafor, and if we want another winger it should be a right sided player. The rest I mostly agree with, though I think Perri has improved enough recently to keep him for now.

Nothing to play for Sunderland on holiday. That was a spanking. Like to see Everton and Wolves win and I think they both will.

25 Apr 2026 08:41:26
I don't think Moyes will allow his players to embarrass themselves like Sunderland have.
It's a humongous game for West Ham, and I can see them just edging this one for three points. However, most pundits I hear are predicting that first win this year for Spurs.
Wolves can play a lot better than some think.
On the day, though, the tension and anxiety still, I think, will be too much for Spurs, and I believe their fate will be decided and delivered on this game.

Big, big week coming up for all the teams in the bottom 7. I am fairly certain, come next Saturday, we are safe.
Statistically, Newcastle are not quite safe yet either.

Aus, I can see Burnley playing their best game of the season at Elland Rd. They will do everything they can to spoil our party, you can count on it.

Looks like white top and shorts, but with blue socks, if anyone is still wondering!

Good news.

Lol, yeah Bright, did send a post earlier, which seems lost in the post. 😆 White tops, blue socks, Perri in goal in yellow. 😁
1
24 Apr 2026 18:21:29
Davey, you mean Darlow in goal in yellow.
1
24 Apr 2026 18:31:47
Baz, you minxlet, bet it's Perri. 😆 😘

Perri should have the place in the semi and the final if we beat Chelsea.
There are some things that were apparent from the beginning about Perri. He's big, a good shot stopper, and intimidating in penalty shoot outs. However, he's never been good at distributing the ball with his feet (would rather throw it) , is not good at decision making at times, and has not come to terms with the physicality or pace of the Premier League.
He may not be kept on next season, but if he's kicked off the team sheet for the cup matches, then he's gone. The Club have openly stated we have no confidence in you.
I think that is a bit unfair.
Darlow has performed well and not cost us many points, but I think Perri should be given the chance to come to terms with the Premier League. Looking forward to next season, I'm less concerned about our keepers (you can always upgrade, but KD has been ok) than getting another striker who can hit 15 plus goals, and a good number 10 who can create and also chip in with a few goals. After that, we just need cover or improvement at CB, full back and another top class winger.

25 Apr 2026 02:24:50
I think that the last couple of times I've seen him, Perri has improved from his earlier outings, and I'm cautiously optimistic about his future performances. In his distribution, he's clearly more comfortable throwing, and is good at it, but his kicking has definitely improved, and I'm less concerned about it than I was. I also think he's now coming to terms with the physicality of the PL, and the defenders have more confidence in him.
Whether or not he plays on Sunday, I think he's worth keeping, and I'd be in no hurry to get rid of him and bring in a replacement who may be no better. Admirers of Trafford need to realise that he's v unlikely to come to us, as he's got bigger fish to fry.

I don't understand either the sentiment part that says that Peri shouldn't be given the opportunity to play.
It's not sentiment, it's just that he's played all the Cup games and has done well and should be given the opportunity to play.
For a keeper, it only takes one error to lose a game.
If Darlow is given the opportunity ahead of Peri and makes that one error, like any keeper can, what will the fans say after the game?
Yep, you got it. Should have played Peri.
Cup games are not a 38 game season.

It's and buts, Opti. Darlow is our number 1. We play our A team in the semi final. If it goes to penalties, give him the last 5 min of extra time to warm up.
24 Apr 2026 07:54:23
I hope Farke is playing Darlow in semi and not Perri.
4
24 Apr 2026 09:05:40
Think Perri deserves a place Aus, to be fair, he has played his part in the cup run, so, sorry, dont agree.
5
24 Apr 2026 09:11:05
Think, if it goes to extra time, maybe bring him on for penalties. But not full 90 min.
4
24 Apr 2026 10:45:25
It's a huge match now. An FA Cup semi at Wembley.. so, imo, you pick your best, most reliable keeper in Darlow
No one wants another Gary Sprakeesque moment a la 1970 FA Cup final vs Chelsea
If it were to go to pens, fine, bring on Perri.
3
24 Apr 2026 12:25:12
I'd be horrified and very disappointed if Peri wasn't selected. It has nothing to do with fans thinking whether one goalie is better than the other. Peri has earned the right to keep this game and the final if we make it. Without his contribution, we would not be in this Semi final.
It shouldn't even be a discussion in my mind.

24 Apr 2026 12:39:12
Farke thinks Darlow is better opti. That's why he plays him. Got nothing to do with your feelings, mate. It's business. That's why players get selected, subbed, etc. Perri will get his chance at another club. Time to move aside. Simple.

24 Apr 2026 13:14:22
Well, a counter point, Aus, and just my opinion, of course, but many were happy to throw away a cup run in favour of the league, so play fringe, etc. My view is it's all integral, a winning cup run can enhance league form with the confidence and thrill it brings, it's all positive. So now this game is massive when the games against Derby, Brum, etc.
were throwaway? Were we, say, a point above relegation, would you say the same? Those players who got us here deserve some reward, and they are all a part of the squad. I suppose also you could say the same regarding DF when we survive. Just for the record, I am for keep. 😆😁
3
24 Apr 2026 14:32:41
It's irrelevant on what passed vid.
It's life, mate.
I gave us zero chance of winning the cup.
Now, we are on a semi-decent run of form v a team that currently everybody beats.
So. I was wrong.
A different scenario presents itself.
I don't understand why people don't understand squad and business.
I prefer guts and glory.
Not cuddles.
4
24 Apr 2026 14:48:31
100% spot on, Aus.
Play your best team.. this is the FA Cup semi-final, a hugely important match for Leeds United.
Sentiment aside (and cuddles) .

Don't know if you're the same "vintage" as me, Baz, but if you are, you'll remember Gary Sprake throwing the ball back into his own net at the Kop end at Anfield. The Liverpool fans responded by singing "Careless hands" all through the 2nd half.
1
{Ed025's Note - i thought Sprake was a good keeper JR..
0
24 Apr 2026 15:14:25
Yep, I am the same vintage as you, JR.
3
24 Apr 2026 15:19:54
Well, to be fair, lads, we have fielded pretty strong sides so far in the cup, and whoever has come in has proved their worth. We are at a point now where we actually do have strength in depth.
1
24 Apr 2026 17:02:23
Think it would be incredibly hard to drop Peri. I get the no sentiment argument, and Arsenal paid the price recently, but our fight and togetherness comes from this whole squad mentality, and I'll be amazed if Peti is dropped.

24 Apr 2026 17:29:25
Sprake was good most of the time ed, but was prone to having periodic "bad days at the office" when he made careless errors. I recall often seeing Jack Charlton or Norman Hunter giving him a right bollocking on such occasions.
Those days got more frequent as time went on and we felt much more secure at the back when David Harvey took over. Of course Leeds fans of my era will never forgive him for his m allegations if match fixing against Don Revie.
1
{Ed025's Note - i remember him well JR and thought he was good actually, i dont remember the match fixing allegations though mate...mind you i cant remember if i have put sugar in my tea half the time mate.. :)

24 Apr 2026 17:42:51
You are right Ed, Sprake was a fine keeper. An ex Leeds player of the time told me that Sprake won Leeds many away ties in Europe before they were televised with some great performances. Unfortunately for him, his big clangers happened in high profile games such as the 1970 FA Cup Final against Chelsea when he let a soft shot by Peter Houseman go under him.
Later in life he upset his ex LUFC colleagues and the fans by making unfounded allegations in a daily newspaper about Don and Billy trying to fix matches. He made 381 appearances for Leeds.
1
{Ed025's Note - i was just saying to JR that i though he was a good keeper Feath, but i dont recall the match fixing mate..
0
24 Apr 2026 18:16:03
imo, Sprake was a good ( ish) keeper, but with high profile clangers. The FA Cup Final one was unforgiveable.
Not sure he always had the full confidence of the Leeds defence, particularly Big Jack.
But do fondly remember Sprake for giving one of the Arsenal players a tremendous right hook (Bobby Gould I think) for giving him the bird throughout the match.
1
24 Apr 2026 19:25:00
Don't matter which keeper we play tomorrow, as we are going through to the final either way!
2
{Ed025's Note - i would love you to be right CORKEY, but beware the wounded animal and new manager bounce mate..

24 Apr 2026 20:48:29
I am fully aware Ed but I've never been this confident since I predicted Man United would be rubbish and never win a title again after Fergie retired!
24 Apr 2026 00:49:51
Was impressed with some of the Bournemouth players. Two goal scorers were good and young. Think they got the Brazilian for 12 notes.
If we have a 100 to spend I hope we can unearth some good quality young players.
5
24 Apr 2026 17:33:42
I always wonder how clubs like Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford, etc manage to find such players for economical prices, but we never. If we want to pinch anyone from Bournemouth, it should perhaps be their head of recruitment.
2
24 Apr 2026 19:29:15
Was thinking the same, JR, during the match.
Their CB Senesi is on a free transfer this summer, and what a player he looks. Could we possibly have a chance?
0
24 Apr 2026 22:54:53
Maybe Kroupi as well, and Thiago from Brentford.
However, the fly in the ointment is that their business models are based on identifying such players, signing them for comparatively modest sums, turning them into quality PL material, and selling them on for big money, so we can no longer afford them.
What we need to do is find them first and then keep them long enough that we get so good they don't want to leave. That's the tricky bit.

Wayne Carrr.
6
24 Apr 2026 00:06:10
No. I don't like the bloke either. Glad we sold him. He was giving it some when they scored, cocky git. He must've expected booing.
5
24 Apr 2026 08:43:04
Took me a while to get the Wayne Carr comment lol. Getting old and slow.
23 Apr 2026 16:37:58
Would anyone take any players from Leicester?
I get that they went down without a whimper and definitely an attitude problem there with some.
James Justin shows that a change of scenery could help some massively.
I wouldn't take many and would stay away from Winks and Skipp.
However, I would be interested in Luke Thomas as a backup for Gabby and Fatawu as a dangerous winger, hopefully as a James replacement.
Thoughts? Obviously at the right price but if £15m got it down quickly for both, I would jump at that.
The BBC article really lays bare how much trouble they are in, so we should be trying a cut price deal with maybe a loan or two of youngsters to 'help' them.

About 2.5 years ago I had read that Leicester were talking to an Australian financial outfit.
To bankroll the incoming Seez.
Couldn't help but think, oh dear, this ain't gonna end well. Just had a few red flags in it.
Terrible for supporters, another example of silver spoon kids destroying what a more old skool man had built up.
4
23 Apr 2026 17:48:18
Err, Luke Thomas a virtual ever present in a Leicester defence that has shipped 70 goals so far against Champo players!
No to any Leicester players for me..
And DJ has a contract to June 2029 at Leeds United. Hopefully his injury is behind him now, and next season he bags EPL goals and assists for Leeds.
5
23 Apr 2026 19:40:23
Most Leicester players aren't good enough for the Championship, let alone the PL. That's why they are where they are. No thanks!
3
23 Apr 2026 20:41:03
Personally, I thought it was a good shout from Ealing.
Fatawu is a good player, as is Thomas.
We were a disgrace the season we got relegated, but players like Pascal and Aaronson are still at ER doing their bit. And, don't forget we got JJ from them and look how he's performed.
We have 100 mill apparently to spend? I'd rather get two or three big quality signings and some good back ups at a reasonable price.
We need difference makers in attack.
2
23 Apr 2026 21:03:32
I don't think that there is any player at Leicester City that is going to help us in the Premiership. The confidence in those players is at an all-time low, and even the ones with potential would be a significant risk to take on.
3
23 Apr 2026 21:10:15
Fatawu got to be worth a peek.
Take him out of the current environment, and a more stable surrounding should bring back out the talent that's in there.
3
23 Apr 2026 21:17:52
A good player in a bad team won't look as good as he can be.
1
24 Apr 2026 07:19:35
Monga is the young man (17/18) that all the big teams are supposed to be watching, and they will almost certainly have to sell.
I cannot believe that Harry Winks will remain on £90,000 a week in Division One!
Without significant financial injection, the BBC article is claiming that they will be unable to service their debts.
3
24 Apr 2026 12:36:54
I'm very happy we got Justin when we did, and I was surprised that he has turned out better than I thought.
That club is rotten to the core, and I can't see how any of those players at Leicester can be a Premiership player. Ultimately, it was the players who sent them down; the players' characters alone must tell you already that they are not prepared to fight and give their max.
They might offload a few players to some Championship clubs, but I would be very surprised if any wing it to a Premiership club.
2
25 Apr 2026 09:14:59
Justin has been a revelation at Leeds. He got a lot of stick from Leicester supporters, and most were pleased they'd "got rid" of him when he went to ER. Shows how a change of environment can sometimes re-kickstart your career.
23 Apr 2026 16:35:47
Gruyev out for the season with a meniscus injury. Bogle has a foot injury, but Farke expects him to be available on Sunday. Stach also getting nearer to fitness.
4
23 Apr 2026 17:25:27
A real shame for Gruev.
5
23 Apr 2026 17:49:36
On a positive note it means DF chooses more attacking subs.
5
23 Apr 2026 20:44:29
Would have been a big loss if his injury was a couple of months back but he's done his bit and we are fine. 🤞
5
23 Apr 2026 23:09:05
Attacking subs like the eternally injured James?
1
24 Apr 2026 00:20:15
Eternally OP..?
40 plus goals and assists in previous 2 seasons for Danny.. played most games.
4
24 Apr 2026 07:59:20
Coz you always throw an attacking sub on to try and close out a game? Circumstances sometimes dictate that an attacking sub ain't always the best option! It would be better for Gruev, and us, had he not been injured, particularly in light of the cup! Surely?
But, hey, you throw away remarks til your heart's content if it fits the promoted storyline.
2
24 Apr 2026 10:39:37
Yeah, going defensive, closing out the game has been soooo effective this season.
