Hearing that Rodon will be out for a minimum of 10 weeks for his hamstring injury.
We’ll definitely miss him but I’m also pretty confident we’ll cope without him for that period.

I'd like to not rush him back and have him fully fit around the Xmas period, where fixtures get congested. A big miss as his tackles really get the crowd going.

03 Sep 2026 19:31:18 Farke said 8-10 weeks in his presser, and 3 or 4 of those are the international break.
0
03 Sep 2026 19:33:57 I believe Farke said 8-10 weeks OP. I think Joe often gets back from injuries quicker than most, so hoping it's nearer to the 8 weeks timeframe.

03 Sep 2026 19:48:11 As Canada says, Rodon is a very quick healer. Still, a big loss even if Elvedi or JJ will step in.

Balogun in January for 25 million anyone?

03 Sep 2026 15:16:56
That's a no thanks from me, Frogus. Apparently something was picked up in his medical that made Everton renegotiate the transfer. He has been offered around and no takers, so it's too dodgy a risk, I reckon.
0
03 Sep 2026 19:32:18 Balogun himself turned the move down after the renegotiation was accepted.

03 Sep 2026 19:51:48 Not quite correct, Vid, apparently. Everton were trying to get the price down by saying he had an injury of some sort. Then, when they tried to get Zirkee in, the lad, after being effed about for hours, told Everton to do one. At least this is what I was told.

Stop it you lot. You’re getting me excited about Matteo. That’s not fair. Might have to upgrade to 8-10 window. As I said previously. Hope it’s our new Raph.

Do not think it's just Bahoya to be excited about Aus. imo it's the best window we have had for many a year. You have to put it in context of where we are in our journey, so we can't compete with well established clubs paying eye watering amounts, offering Euro football, or attracting huge talents.
Our football succeeds in hard graft and teamwork. Having said that, there is no doubt we have bought real quality, and that, on top of what we already have, is very promising indeed. Everyone in our squad wants to be at Leeds and that is massive. Utwdtp to a thrilling season.

Could have written all that myself! The voice of reason!

I've already documented how pleased I am with initial signings, vid. Just commenting on the latter. Agree, starting 11 stronger than last season, which should always be the aim.

Pressure is on Farke now to deliver. He's been given a pretty good first eleven / eighteen this seez.
1
03 Sep 2026 19:56:59 100% the pressure is on DF. To be fair to him, he was fairly cool last season when things were going a bit ropey. Most importantly, though, he seems to have a good bunch of high character players, which in my opinion is just as important as talent.

Free agents are interesting, wondering if any player makers out there.
Would love Wilfred Saha, he could play wing, #9 or 10, I is on around 2mil per year.

Saha's quite a good shout, Melbourne. 👏 And I really liked Mahrez, a quality, talented player, but 35 now.

I don't even hate Vardy as an emergency bench option if DCL got injured and we needed someone to be a nuisance up front when Nmecha comes off. He managed 7 for a relegated Serie A team last yr.
I like Mahrez and Zaha too. Elsewhere, Zinchenko and Solly March aren't bad shouts.
Easy to say as fans, but I'd invite genuine contenders to train with the squad a few weeks, build the fitness, and see if they fit the 'no idiots' vibe.
Money talks too. Has to be reasonable wages. Ofc not all of them. One if any. But some interesting names out there.

Apparently, the club have confirmed we won't be signing any free agents. We believe we have enough for the season, with additions in Jan only likely in case of a bargain or injuries.

Love Solly March, he's a top top bloke too, but sadly injuries have taken what pace he had, and consequently he is too great a risk for us. Pay to play in the Championship; lower leagues would be better suited for Solly.

Any news on how long Joe R is out for? That might change the stance on a CB, although there is the international break at the end of the month, which will help.

Joe always seems to heal exceptionally quick.
Haven't heard a timeline yet.

Just read he's out for 8 to 10 weeks. Quite a bad one!

Gutted about Joe Rodon's length of injury news. Our best, most consistent defender imo.
He was being mooted as a potential Liverpool target back in January and this is what a Liverpool analyst, Bence Bocsak wrote about him a few months ago:
'Bahoya completed 72.5% of his 4.66 dribbles per 90 in the Bundesliga this season.' ⚡
'His best role is as a touchline winger who puts crosses, through balls and cut-backs to facilitate the forwards ahead of him.'
'He had a great partnership with Hugo Ekitike during their time at Frankfurt.'
'Works really hard off the ball as well.
4 recoveries per 90. Won 70% of 5.01 defensive duels per 90. 2.56 interceptions per 90.'
'Extremely fast but technical, too. Quick, shifty feet. Great link-up player, nice one touch passer.'
'In the right system, he will flourish.' 💪

Good bit of research there, Brighty. Did check a few vids of him, and he does look like he knows how to supply the ball effectively, something that Calvert Lewin desperately needs, some quality balls to him.

Not the first article I've read highlighting his defensive workrate as being quite high too. Promising signs.

The more you look at our business this summer, the more impressive it looks. Real quality, Muharemovic looks superb, JT needs no explaining, Wilson gives us another attacking option, Elvedi is class with loads of experience at a high level, decent second keeper and I have a feeling Bard will prove an absolute bargain.
Then we have the X factor in Bahoya who could be awesome. Lots of deadwood cleared out. It's a very promising start to the season, siblings. 😁

Keeping fingers crossed that Bahoya is the real deal - could do with another Raphinha!
Also fingers crossed that DCL stays fit.
As several have said, it has been a pretty decent window with some quality additions and upgrades.

I am really liking the attributes of our new signing Bahoya.
- Lightning fast.
- Throughballs for forwards to run onto.
- Lots of defensive duels won.
- Cutbacks for players to strike at goal.
- Works really hard off the ball, etc.
Woah.
A sort of left sided Dan James.
Happy days.

Ah stop it, Baz. I'm sure we all hope he's not another DJ type?!
6
02 Sep 2026 22:36:11
Well, yes Corkey, we probably all expect Bahoya to be much better in most aspects.
Having said that, I am very confident and hopeful that current Leeds United top scorer Dan James is going to have a good / very good 26/27 season. 💪

02 Sep 2026 23:56:56
Baz, do you dream of DJ every night?

Hehe CA, nah, just joshing with you peeps.
02 Sep 2026 15:51:12
Anyone fancy one of the free agents that are available to boost the squad number?
0
02 Sep 2026 18:16:59
It's really quite surprising, some names on that list; real players that have totally lost their way.
I guess, we need to see if we have submitted a full 25 player squad list to the EPL; any gaps and there might be a chance.

02 Sep 2026 18:43:11
Ryan free?
3
02 Sep 2026 19:35:44
Kent afford him. 😂

02 Sep 2026 21:59:55
A few names stand out, such as Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Wilfried Zaha, Jordan Ayew, etc., but none that I'd jump at adding to the team. Think we're good for now, maybe something will pop up in January, maybe not.

I agree with you on that, JR.
