So by the sounds of things we are/have walked away from Shea Charles.
Question is, who is the 2nd option?
Do we drop Stach back alongside Amps, and get a top number 8/10 rather than a cdm and keep Gruev, Longstaff and Tanaka as cover?

22 Jul 2026 16:06:59
Says on rumours site some Dutch 22 year old.
22 Jul 2026 20:06:02
Plenty of alternatives, don't worry.
22 Jul 2026 20:50:12
Looking like Leeds are hard to do business with?
Apparently a third bid knocked back for SC. Enough bids to piss any selling club off, id say?
22 Jul 2026 22:00:07
Longlostfan, do you know the name?
22 Jul 2026 22:24:08
That might be Kayne Van Oevelen, Dave.
23 Jul 2026 00:06:08
I'm not convinced we need another same same midfielder. The ones we have were adequate last season. It's an am we need.
23 Jul 2026 07:00:30
Kodai Sano.
23 Jul 2026 07:43:26
Japanese.
23 Jul 2026 08:32:57
A number of clubs are looking at him. Nearly went to Hoffenheim but they signed elsewhere. On the market for about EUR20m.
22 Jul 2026 13:11:21
Here's a Baz Predictor Double for you lovely peeps.
1) Leeds are not going to sign a striker this window (and Joel Piroe will see out his final year of his contract) .
And
2) Leeds very regrettably have decided that Lucas Perri will remain as its number 1 gk this seez and will only try to sign a number 2 back up gk (not a number 1) .
Concerning on all fronts.
I hope I am proved wrong, but don't think I will be.
Agree3
Disagree0
22 Jul 2026 14:42:46
Disagree 1. Possibly 2.
Not ideal in the 2 category unless he grows some balls, he can stop.
22 Jul 2026 14:46:06
Agree, Baz, that Piroe will see out his contract whether we buy another striker or not.
Re keepers, we've been linked with so many but several have already gone elsewhere. The Suzuki interest is treading water and, according to the YEP, the asking price for Trafford is Β£50m. I don't think either of those are viable as it stands.
22 Jul 2026 14:58:30
I really hope you are right, Aus, about Leeds United signing a striker this summer seez.
..But really dont think this ownership will.
22 Jul 2026 15:01:02
Indeed, Dune, there's as much chance of either you and I signing for LUFC as Leeds United signing Trafford. Never happening.
22 Jul 2026 15:24:43
1. Will we sign a new (additional) striker possibly, but Piroe will see out his contract cos he's unlikely to find a new club willing to pay what he already gets, tho a loan with LU paying a big lump of his salary might be do-able.
2. Perri will be staying, but we will sign a new GK, and which one ends up as No1 or No2 remains to be seen.
Certainly we won't be signing Trafford at Β£50M, nor will anyone else, but if MC lower their asking price, he may go somewhere else. We could possibly sign him on loan, but any option or obligation to buy would come with a big price tag.
22 Jul 2026 15:48:35
Why don't you go for a hattrick, Baz, and forecast that tomorrow is Thursday!
Piroe has said numerous times that he wishes to stay and fight for his place.
We will not [cannot] sell Perri for now, until we have signed (if we are even planning to) a new keeper, now that Mes and Darlow have gone. Pretty sure had Darlow stayed, Perri would likely have been moved on instead.
I would add, is Perri as bad as everyone makes out? He did well in the cup games. His distribution is questionable, but that has plagued all of our keepers for the last decade.
I'd say there is an equal chance of them both going or both staying, frankly.
22 Jul 2026 15:56:50
Interesting post JR.
For me, the gk and striker situ this window will play a large part in the success of our seez.
22 Jul 2026 16:05:52
Ani, Piroe saying he wishes to 'stay and fight for his place' is polite speak for 'I am seeing out my contract', and Farke never plays him, doesn't rate him at EPL level.
So we need another striker, do we not?
But.. Will Leeds sign another Ani in your esteemed opinion?
As for the keeper situation..we shall see.
22 Jul 2026 19:24:39
Baz, I don't think we will sign another striker. Not that you can ever score enough goals, but in truth, it wasn't a pressing issue last season. We were midtable in that department. I reiterate, we could always score more goals, but imo the club will be focused elsewhere.
The main focus at the moment appears to be reducing player numbers. [and subsequent costs].
22 Jul 2026 20:55:55
Baz, I disagree with your initial post 100%.
The club actually said they would be concentrating on attacking options this pre season.
We'd be totally gambling going into next season with just DCL and Nmecha as Piroe is definitely going elsewhere.
22 Jul 2026 21:18:03
Yes, Corkey, they may well have stated that..
..Harry Wilson is defo a very good start on the attacking front recruitment. Now for a cf, hopefully, but I still wouldn't bet on the Leeds United owners and recruitment dept getting a cf.
23 Jul 2026 10:04:53
As per usual, your predictions will very likely flop, Baz.
I can definitely see an incoming number one keeper, for a starter. Piroe will leave, and no new striker, but possibly a new winger and an attacking midfielder.
23 Jul 2026 11:26:05
As I said, Op, I hope I am wrong. We shall see.
Yet you agree with me that there will be no new incoming striker.
Piroe will leave, you say? Hmm. I think it will be you, Op, who will be flopping, as usual. π
22 Jul 2026 12:56:17
Wober has left the building.
He has joined Shalke 04.

So no transfer fee at all?
Ho hum.
22 Jul 2026 14:43:22
Agree both. Good, but unfortunately a bad pattern.
22 Jul 2026 15:32:07
One of our bad signings. Probably lost money on him, but good riddance.
22 Jul 2026 15:34:34
Any fee would have been minimal, and reduced by a sell on clause by Red Bull Salzburg, so better to bite the bullet and just let him go. At least his salary will be off the books.
22 Jul 2026 16:51:20
Nobody would pay for a sick note like him, so getting him off the books is something.
23 Jul 2026 19:58:41
After 10 games following his debut, he was touted as our captain-in-waiting, but then again so was Adams - how things change in the world of footy!
22 Jul 2026 12:55:20
Wober contract terminated enabling him to sign for Schalke today / tomo.

21 Jul 2026 20:27:34
Farke is at times infuriating.
Largie deserves a chance to shine .. as he did whenever he played for Leeds and indeed Valencia.
21 Jul 2026 20:36:19
Absolutely agree, Baz. He might be a squad player, but he adds some threat going forward. Sometimes you need a super sub.
21 Jul 2026 20:39:59
Largie dont fit, Baz. His attitude is the problem, and that is as important to this team as ability. Players are left out for a reason. At least DJ is going, eh dude. π
21 Jul 2026 20:44:58
Indeed, Dune, he does.
Another stubborn Farke error freezing out players (and them then being sold ridiculously cheaply) .
21 Jul 2026 20:49:23
This so called 'attitude' thing Davey is wayyy overplayed ..by Farkey.
A maverick player or 2 please at LUFC ...
Does the player have talent?
And
Is he performing on pitch?
21 Jul 2026 21:04:05
Read that he's injured.. In Farke we trust. π€ππ
21 Jul 2026 21:11:38
This happens all the time. If a player has an attitude or fall out with the gaffer, he's off, and probably how it should be, and sometimes sold on the cheap.
We don't like to critique Wilkinson, but did exactly that with Cantona.
21 Jul 2026 21:27:56
MG
I love and adore Wilko, and I prioritize all his magnificent achievements in raising the Leeds United Phoenix from the Ashes.
But, man, that was his one huge kamikaze mistake, selling a maverick supreme talent in Cantona. and, worse still, selling him at the time to our closest rivals, Man U, fgs, and for a paltry Β£1 million, fgs.
Man U fans dined out on that for numerous years, and numerous EPL trophies, and Leeds United faltered quite a tad from champions status because of it.
Until Graham and the DOL era took over and improved matters again.
21 Jul 2026 21:41:53
I'm still smarting over it, Baz. π€£
But for the record, I'm a Largie fan and would love him to stay.
21 Jul 2026 22:03:03
No Wober or Okafor either.
21 Jul 2026 22:07:55
Cantona went because he was bangin Leslie Ash, allegedly, apparently, maybe..
21 Jul 2026 22:43:01
Okafor on extended leave due to World Cup exploits. Chance for Gnonto to show if he is ever to reach his potential.
21 Jul 2026 22:51:38
Maybe they're working on a deal for him to go back to Valencia, or somewhere else. π€
21 Jul 2026 23:49:29
Okafor on leave due to extended WC exploits?
Cmon, 19 minutes!
Somebody will say he's been training last six weeks, God bless him.
If it wasn't for my decades of years watching Leeds United, I don't actually think I'd watch football anymore.
22 Jul 2026 00:02:08
I believe it's actually a FIFA ruling, Corkey.
{Ed001's Note - yes 21 days, but they can choose to cut it shorter themselves.}
22 Jul 2026 01:25:26
Lee Chapman always rubbished the suggestion that Cantona was having it off with his missus, and they're still together 30+ years later.
I always thought that MU secretly tapped him up with an offer of more money (lots more) than we could afford, but we'll probably never know, unless Sgt Wilko writes it in his memoirs.
{Ed001's Note - the thing was Cantona would become legendary for shagging everything and anything, so it is difficult to believe Chapman. On his days off at Man Utd Cantona would tour brothels etc.}
22 Jul 2026 08:12:26
Going back to the start of the thread, it's of no surprise Valencia didn't want Ramazani, with what has been reported, his very bad attitude within the club and a complete disregard to carry out team tactics on match day.
He scored six goals and a couple of assists, which is ok but hardly outstanding. Good maverick players can get away with playing their own game, but Ramazani is no exceptional maverick.
He might get away with scoring a bunch of goals in a season, but by not playing with the team's tactics he'll probably give away more chances and goals to the opposition.
A big no for me on self before side Ramazani. He can do one.
22 Jul 2026 13:19:13
Yeah, yeah OP.sigh.
Put your savings on Valencia signing Ramazzani this summer. He is their super sub (he is a sub not a starter) who comes on and scores and assists.
Imagine Leeds had a multiple goalscoring and assist sub that won us games.
This alleged 'attitude' guff reports from Valencia is imo nowt more than a tactic to try to considerably lower the transfer fee.
Wait and see this Ramazzani to Valencia transfer happen towards the end of the window.
22 Jul 2026 14:46:57
Agree, Baz. Seems like everybody in management wants to gift our players away. Farke could have taken large to USA, increased his value. But no. Let's take 4 keepers and youth that he hardly plays anyway. Bit of a boys' club going on. Need the know stuff. Baffling.
22 Jul 2026 14:54:43
Indeed, Aus 100, spot on..
22 Jul 2026 21:10:39
Believe what you want, but Corberan has been on Ramazani's case for most of the time when he was not injured.
From the reports I've read, there's no way Valencia will be buying Ramazani, even at a cut price.
He's another player we just can't get rid of.
No doubt he'll be loaned out to another club next season.
22 Jul 2026 23:44:06
Deary me, OP. Don't believe everything you read, mate.
23 Jul 2026 06:52:25
No smoke without fire, Corkey.
23 Jul 2026 09:02:38
I don't, Corkey, but I do trust Farke, and if he says Ramazani is a bad egg, then that's what he is.
Also, Corberan's close ties with Leeds United mean I don't think he needs to make fairy tales to get a cut price on Ramazani if he did want him, which I seriously doubt.
23 Jul 2026 11:31:43
Not impressed by your fanciful suggestion that Leeds United ownership would give Valencia a cut βοΈ price deal on Ramazzani because of 'Corberan's close ties with Leeds United'.
21 Jul 2026 16:58:21
Summerville to Saudi for β¬80m!
Wet Spam are selling damn well this summer.
Wonder if they fancy Piroe for Β£30m ππ.

21 Jul 2026 17:31:55
Crazy money for Cree, that!
21 Jul 2026 17:34:36
Quite right, Dave. About Β£140m from two sales, even after they've paid the sell-on clause for Fernandez. And they've kept the rest of the squad up to now.
I think Piroe's going to see out his contract and go as a free agent at the end of the season.
He'll only be 27/28 and a good signing for the Championship or Eredivisie. A loan might end up as our only option.
Quite a contrast in outcomes between West Ham's outgoings and ours.
21 Jul 2026 18:35:23
Have we a sell on clause? Probably not. π
21 Jul 2026 18:43:47
Apparently no sell-on clause, Corkey. Even 10% of Β£68 million would have been handy.
21 Jul 2026 18:44:16
Bad business with Summerfield, no sell-on. We just can't keep making this sort of mistake time after time. We need someone who knows what they are doing when signing players, dot the i's and cross the t's, make it watertight. 68 million. π€·π»ββοΈ
21 Jul 2026 19:01:34
Don't know who it was on here, but last time we got dumped, and I was moaning about selling fees on players, the poster told me off for asking that silly question.
Saying relegated teams have zero bargaining power over the exodus of their "stars".
West Ham proving that was a load of s****, as they are cleaning up, and well done for getting top coin.
Can't remember who told me this.
21 Jul 2026 19:38:23
Agreed, Dunelm. Piroe defo wants to go on a free. It's up to the club to tell him and his agent to find himself a new club.
21 Jul 2026 19:57:36
Yes, we had no sell on clause in our deal to sell Summerville to Wet Sham, but now they've sold him. To compare the two deals properly, you also need to know if there's a sell on clause in their deal or not.
21 Jul 2026 20:04:53
We haven't been good for a few years in several areas. Buying players with relegation clauses, loaning out with no obligation to buy, transferring with no sell on clause, and panicking and handing out high value contracts for no good reason (eg.
JH and DH) .
It might cost a substantial amount to get someone in who knows what they're doing, but in the long term it will save money - a lot.
21 Jul 2026 20:08:50
Sorry Jr, I think it's a bit irrelevant. West Ham have made their wedge, a big one, and I think they are the cat who got the cream - all of it.
21 Jul 2026 20:37:15
Yep, I said during the January window, Piroe wants to see his contract out.
Some seem to think he is destined for Champo this summer.. Not a chance that he would do so.
21 Jul 2026 21:33:53
He's never going to a champo side imo. Europe's top leagues are more likely, but not one of the elite ones.
21 Jul 2026 22:04:24
I don't think we could put a sell on clause in due to Cree's release fee being activated.
21 Jul 2026 23:11:57
That's not the point I'm making, Dun. He left us for Β£24M on the back of a good season in the Champo, and now Wet Sham have sold him for Β£60M on the back of a good season in the PL and World Cup call-up, that's just good business, just like we did buying Raphina for Β£17M and selling him for Β£54M.
My point is that some here have been criticising LU for not having a sell on clause in the deal, but quite probably Spam find themselves in the same position and had to sell to the Saudis also with no sell on clause.
22 Jul 2026 08:27:53
It will say more about Cree if he goes there than Spam's ability to squeeze out the wedge.
Supposedly, they were waiting on a revised offer from Roma above their 39m opener, when Hilal came in with that crazy 60m opener.
No negotiation involved; they just accepted their first offer. West Ham didn't have to do anything to drive up their profit on him; they just answered the phone. Perhaps our receptionist is more to blame for the prices we get?
22 Jul 2026 10:20:38
Cycencio, the money is all I care about. Summerville has made it very clear about his footballing ambitions and career and what he wants from it.
Good luck to him if that's what he wants, and if Hilal pay for a player that's double his value, fair enough. If West Ham can receive that amount of cash, then fine, whether the Saudis are too stupid or too rich enough to pay it.
This has got nothing to do with Leeds United and the way the club is managed.
He was a player who made it crystal clear he did not want to play for Leeds.
There's nothing else to say.
22 Jul 2026 11:07:17
It would have been nice to have even a 10% sell on clause though.
21 Jul 2026 16:14:00
Have just read that Enzo Fernandez has said the Argentinian team represented their nation 'in the best possible way'!

A legend of a footballer, a gent of the game who will be sadly missed. Condolences to his family.
He also gave one of the most played interviews ever that always made us smile, a true tantrum that showed his passion for our beautiful game, as a player, 110%, as a manager, 110%, and as a person, 110%.
20 Jul 2026 20:46:47
Great post, Bri. I totally agree with all you say.
20 Jul 2026 20:47:49
If I remember correctly, the tantrum was at Er after they had beaten us 2 - 0 in a Monday night game.
20 Jul 2026 23:30:26
Always dreaded playing against him - you knew he could hurt us, even with the line up we had in those days.
One of the players you'd put in your all time England X1.
Farewell Kev, and thank you for the memories.
